So, for this work you will need:

  • decorative box (cardboard box, box, preferably with a lid;
  • beautiful velvety fabric (velor);
  • batting (dense felt);
  • pins, needle and thread (sewing machine);
  • glue gun;
  • scissors.

The amount of fabric depends on the size of the box and the rolls that fit there.

Do-it-yourself ring box: work progress

⇒ Step 1. Fold the batting in half and cut into strips the width of your box + 0.5 cm. Estimate how many rolls of batting will be needed and what diameter. The point is that the rolls should lie tightly in the container, completely filling it both in length and in width. Based on this, roll up the batting, securing the rolls with a pin, and try them on in the box.

⇒ Step 2. Take the fabric and cut the strips to the size of the rolls with an allowance of 2 cm in length and width. Fold the fabric in half front side inside and secure with pins. See if you can put this cover on a roll. If everything is correct, sew the cover along the length (or sew by hand).

⇒ Step 3. Turn cover right side out and place over batting rolls.

⇒ Step 4. To close the edges of the roll, use fabric glue or hem by hand. The edges of the box will not be visible.

⇒ Step 5. Pack the finished rolls tightly into the box and use it to your health!
