But this does not mean that they will be ugly. Especially if you use our master class for creating patterns, according to which even beginners can sew slippers with their own hands.

To begin with, let's decide on the materials from which these shoes can be made. The sole is usually made from:

  • batting;
  • cardboard;

Sewing homemade slippers with your own hands is quite simple and it will take a little time. Just follow our step by step instructions exactly.

Step 1

On a sheet of cardboard, draw the outline of the foot. Mark the allowances around the contour with a width of 1 cm.

Step 2

Use a tape measure to measure the height of your foot at the top of your slippers. On the top line of the slippers, draw a horizontal line along the measured height. From its ends, draw a semicircle around the contour of the sole. Also add 1 cm allowances. Transfer the lines of contours and allowances in a mirror image to another sheet of cardboard. Make separately 2 patterns for the top of the slippers and for the sole (for the left and right legs symmetrically).

Step 3

Cut out 1 piece each for the right and left leg from the interlining for the upper and for the sole, then cut 2 pieces each for the right and left leg from the fabric for the upper and the sole.

Fold and cut three identical parts. Trim the straight edge of the top of the slippers with the finished bias trim.

Step 4

Sew the top piece to the sole piece. After that, circle the sole around with the finished oblique trim.

Home slippers are the same piece of clothing as a dress or T-shirt. Very often, women forget that you need to look at home no worse than on the street. Yes, at home you do not have to wear makeup, because the skin needs to rest. But being nicely combed and well dressed at home is the best way to feel like a real woman.

What a labor it is to choose comfortable and stylish shoes! Trying on, for example, sandals in a store, you will certainly pay attention not only to the height of the heel or stiletto, but also to the strength of materials, color, design. Why, then, only some women with the same trepidation refer to the choice of home shoes. We do not urge you to walk around the house in stilettos (legs also need rest), but beautiful and comfortable indoor shoes are not fiction. We previously wrote about how to make unusual bunny slippers, but now we will do others. beautiful handmade slippers.

The choice of slippers in stores does not please with a variety of styles and materials. As a rule, most of the models look like ordinary flip flops made of soft fabric with a rubber sole. Even if you pick up beautiful and comfortable clothes especially for the house, then such slippers will definitely destroy the whole image.

What to do in such a difficult situation? Sew beautiful slippers with your own hands. You can sew the first slippers for yourself to master the technique. But don't stop there. After all, handmade slippers will be a very original gift.

Master class: beautiful slippers with your own hands

What you need to make beautiful slippers with your own hands:

  • fabric in two different colors (fleece or cotton is best - it depends on how you see your slippers),
  • felt (we will make a sole out of it),
  • threads in the color of the fabric,
  • basting pins,
  • printer (to print the template),
  • scissors and good mood.

Step one

Print the template using the printer (see below). You will need to increase or decrease it based on the size of your foot. Then we cut out the details of the desired size from paper.

step two

From the fabric that will be outside the slippers, cut out 4 parts of the foot (two for each slipper). From the same fabric we cut out the second blank. To do this, you will need to fold the fabric in half and place another blank on it so that its wide edge is at the fold. You will need 2 of these parts.

Step Three

From the lining fabric (the one that will be inside the slipper), we cut out 2 parts of the second blank in the same way. You will also need 2 pieces of foot cut out of felt.

Step Four

We sew the details. Align 2 parts from different types of fabric so that they lie facing each other. Sew them together along the inner arc.

Step Five

Turn the lining fabric inside out and secure with pins around the perimeter.

After you have fixed the fabric, carefully turn the workpiece inside out. Take one of the foot blanks (from the main fabric) and pin it with pins to the resulting slipper blank. Sew along the perimeter.

Step Six

Place a felt base under the slippers and sew it on. To make your slippers look beautiful, the base needs to be hidden. Therefore, we close the felt with another blank and again stitch it around the perimeter. You can carefully cut off the protruding edges of the fabric or sew between the blind seam.

step seven

Decorate your slippers with beautiful bows made from a different material. You can use ribbons, flowers, and even beads. It will not be difficult for needlewomen to knit small flowers and sew them to such slippers. Beautiful embroidery, for example, with the name of the person who owns these stylish and comfortable shoes, will become a special chic.

Option number 2: beautiful slippers with your own hands

Sewing such slippers will require little effort from you, but your legs will be delighted with comfortable and beautiful slippers.

If you decide to give such slippers to a relative or girlfriend, then you will definitely please her with such a gift. For little princesses, shoes of bright colors with an interesting print can be sewn so that they do not forget to put on shoes and do not walk on the floor with bare feet.

You can combine different colors and materials from linen to faux fur. Try to use a material for the sole that will not slip.

Such an original gift will show how much you care about a person. And the hostess of slippers will remember you with kind words every time beautiful slippers warm her feet.

House slippers are a great gift! Made by hand with warmth and love, they will warm the legs of you and your loved ones!

I sewed such house slippers to all my relatives and friends. I have already sewn about fifty slippers! I determined the dimensions empirically, but it’s better to check before cutting.

Step 1. Cut out the details.

Slipper top details:

  • On the left in the photo, 2 details are the very top, it can be cut out of some beautiful fabric, not necessarily very durable. I usually cut out faux fur (old fur coats are used!)
  • 2 central details - this is a lining, it serves for warmth. I usually cut out from thin batting, such is sold in hardware stores, they also wash the floor.
  • On the right in the photo are the details that need to be cut out of fabric that will be pleasant to the body.

All details are cut out the same way.

Details of the bottom of the slipper (sole):

  • On the left in the photo - this is the outer part of the sole, it needs to be cut out of a thick, very durable fabric, I cut it out of a felt mat. From the same fabric I cut out "heels-heels".
  • The 2 central details are the lining, it serves for warmth and softness. I also cut it out of thin batting.
  • On the right in the photo is the inside of the sole. It must be cut out of a fabric that will be pleasant to the body, and at the same time very durable. This part begins to wear through the very first, especially under the heel.

Don't forget to cut out the details for the left and right legs.

Also for sewing it is necessary to cut out strips of elastic fabric 3 cm wide. It is advisable to use synthetic fabric for this, it is stronger.

Step 2. We chop off the details of the top with pins.

Step 3. We lay a line from the wrong side, thereby fastening all 3 parts.

Step 4. If the upper part is made of faux fur, then you need to cut off the excess fur along the edge. Cut boldly, do not be afraid, the fur along the edge will then still interfere. You can also cut off the excess lining, in general, trim the entire part.

This photo shows a cropped piece (left) and an uncut piece (right).

Step 5. Now we take a strip of elastic fabric, apply it with the front side to the front side of the part to the inner edge and sew.

Step 6. We turn the strip to the wrong side and sew on the line “Multiple zigzag” (knit stitch).

Step 7. From the wrong side, cut off the excess strip close to the line.

View of the upper part of the slipper from the wrong side:

Step 8. We put the inner part of the sole on the wrong side of our part, face down, while aligning the central marks (indicated in blue in the photo). We chip off with a pin.

Step 9. We combine the side marks and also cut off with pins.

Step 10. Now you need to sweep the details.

Step 11. Lay a line with wrong side, thereby holding the sole and upper part together.

Step 12. Now we take the strips of fabric again and put them face down on the front side of the slipper. The beginning of the strip must be bent (see photo).

Let's run the line:
