If you have a free minute or two, and your son or grandson has grown out of an old pullover or sweater, it's time to knit a zipper sweater for a boy with knitting needles. We offer the most interesting children's knitted sweaters for boys and we will be glad if you choose the right one for yourself. All models with diagrams and descriptions.

First of all, it will be easier for you to knit if you immediately decide on the size, since a lot depends on the height and other data of the child. Measure with a centimeter the length of the product, the volume of the hips, the length of the sleeve, starting from the neck to the palm, and write down all the data.

This interesting knitted sweater with a hood for a boy is suitable for young people 7-8 and 10 years old. The front of the jacket is decorated with intarsia (cat's muzzle), and the hood is a striped cat's tail ending in a braid of threads.

We knit a cat according to the scheme given below. The easiest way to knit such patterns is from individual balls, each section is its own ball. So that there are no holes in the pattern, we cross the thread on the wrong side, but do not tighten it much. All the time we make sure that the drawing does not decrease in the course of work.

For work you will need:

  1. 100% cotton yarn (10 (7-8 years) and 12 skeins (8-10 years) - 50 gr./50 m.). light grey.
  2. Yarn wool black and white - 100 gr.
  3. Knitting needles 3 and 3.5 mm thick.
  4. Additional knitting needle 3.5 mm.
  5. Pins or stitch markers.

We knit in 2 threads. It would be ideal to knit a “probe” 10/10 cm in order to determine how many stitches you need to dial, since the exact name of the threads is not indicated in the description. Most likely, these are strings of the “violet” type.

The density of knitting is indicated as: 21 p. / 29 p. Corresponds to 10/10cm. Designations: front - l., purl - out., loop - p. The main knitting is the front surface.

On needles 3 mm. we collect with light gray yarn 94 (102) p., knit an elastic band 1 l. / 1 out. Elastic band 3.5 cm. - 10 rows. Switch to 3.5mm needles. Next, knit in stockinette stitch. Knitted 123 (134) p. - 42 (46) cm. From the elastic we close the middle 32 sts for the neckline. Find the middle of the row and subtract 16 sts from one side and the other from the center. Next, we leave one half of the work for additional. knitting needle, and on the other half we close from the inside in every second p. 2 times 1 p. Next, close in this river. the remaining 28 (32) sts of the shoulder. Knit the second half from the auxiliary knitting needle symmetrically.

Make an elastic band the same as we did on the back. Next, we begin to draw a cat pattern: on 3.5 mm knitting needles. Next, we stop at the front river. and make a drawing: 18 (22) p. light gray, 58 p. - according to the scheme, 18 (22) p. light gray. For convenience, we find the middle of the picture and mark it with a pin (in the figure - an arrow). Next, we knit according to the scheme. When the scheme is completed - with the front surface of a light gray (main) color.

We knit 110 (120) rows 37 (41) cm. From the elastic we close the middle 24 points to decorate the neck of the product. Let's make the left side of the shelf first. To make a rounded neck, you need to close from the inside at the beginning of each p. 1 st each. So we close until (20 p.), until 30 (34) sts remain on the needles, this is the shoulder. We close these points. Do the right side symmetrically to the left.

Sleeves

We collect on the knitting needles 3 mm. light gray thread 44 p. and knit 10 p. elastic band 1/1. Next, comes the front surface. In the first r. add 6 p., get 50 p., then in every 5th p. add 1 p. on both sides. So we knit until there are 78 (92) sts on the knitting needles. It turns out 27 (32) cm. From the elastic we close all the sts of the shoulder. The second sleeve is similar to the first.

Hood

We sew the shoulders with a large needle with a gray thread. Next, find the middle of the back, mark it with a pin. on 2 knitting needles 3.5 mm. along the edge of the neck, we collect 116 sts with a light gray thread, (58 sts for each knitting needle), first we knit on the 1st knitting needle, then on the 2nd and at the end of the work we will sew these 2 halves. In the middle of the shelf, on the 1st knitting needle, we make a bar with an elastic band 1/1 on the first 5 loops. Knit the rest of the hood in stockinette stitch. From the back we will add loops and knit them with black and white yarn. If you want to make a regular hood, you can simply knit without adding anything up to the height of 56 rows and close all the stitches. If you want a striped hood, add white and black stripes on the left. Add 1 p. In each p. You will get 4 p. black yarn, 4 p. white, several stripes. We do this:

  • 1st p.: 58 p. persons. gray yarn, add 1 p. black pr.
  • 2nd p: 2 p. out. black pr., 58 p. out. gray ave.
  • 3rd p.: 58 p. persons. gray pr., 3 p. persons. black ave.,
  • And so on.

Tied up to 56 p. and closed the st. On the 2nd knitting needle, do the same as on the 1st. Don't forget 5 sts of rib at the beginning. Next, we make, if desired, a pigtail of 20 threads of 2 or 3 colors, tie at the bottom with a black thread.

Assembly

Sew our hood on the wrong side, not forgetting to insert a pigtail. Next, unfold the sleeves and sew to the shelf and back. Sew the inside seams of the sleeves, and then the side seams of the product.

Then, at a height of 26-28-31-34-37 cm (130-138-154-170-172 p.) make 1 decrease, (the beginning of the neck). To get a beautiful neck, we must remove evenly: 9-11-11-15-17 sts along the neck, do not touch the shoulder yet. Therefore, we remove in every 4th p. 1 p. (for all sizes).

We form the shoulder. At a distance from the elastic band 38-42-45-49-55 cm (166-182-196-216-238 rubles) close from the side. armholes in each second row:

Before

We take knitting needles 4.5 mm. and we dial 62-56-68-74 p. We knit 14 p. double rubber band. We change the knitting needles to 5 mm. and knit like this: 8-5-11-14 sts with pearl knots, 1 person, 6 sts according to “braid pattern number 1”, 1 person, 7 sts with pearl knots, 1 person, 14 sts. according to “braid pattern number 2”, 1 person., 7 p. pearl knot, 1 person, 6 p. according to “braid pattern number 1”, 1 person., 8-5-11-14 p. With this pattern we knit to a height of 27-23-31-35 cm from the beginning of the front. Then, for the armhole, we close on both sides 3 sts, 2 sts, 1 st each. After we have reached 40-36-44-48 cm from the beginning of the front, we close 12 sts under the neck in the center of the front. Further, on both sides of the neckline, we close 3 sts, 2 sts, 1 st each. After we knit to 43-38-48-53 cm, we close all the remaining sts.

Sleeves

We collect on knitting needles with a thickness of 4.5 mm. 28-24-32-36 p. We perform 14 p. double rubber band. Next, change the needles to 5 mm. and do this: 10-8-12-14 p. with a pearl pattern, 1 person., 6 p. according to “braid pattern number 1”, 1 person., 10-8-12-14 p. pearl. uz. Then we knit in such a pattern, not forgetting to add from both edges in each sixth row eight times.

After 28-25-31-34 cm is knitted from the beginning of the sleeve, close 3 sts on both sides of the sleeves, and then, close 1 st on both sides in each 2nd p. 9 times. This is the sleeve collar. When the length reaches 38.5-34-42-47 cm, close all stitches. We knit the second sleeve in the same way.

Hood

We take knitting needles 5 mm. and we collect 64-58-70-76 p. on them and perform the following pattern: 3 p. with a double rubber band, 7-4-10-13 p. pearl. pattern, 1 person., 6 p. according to the “braid pattern number 1”, 1 person., 28 p. pearl knot, 1 person., 6 p. according to the “braid pattern number 1., 1 person., 7-4 -10-13 p. pearl. pattern, 3 p. double rubber band. So we continue to knit 3 cm (8 p.) From the beginning of the hood. Further on both sides of the 2 central sts, add 1 st in each 2nd p. 3 times.

Further, we reach 20-18-22-24 cm from the beginning of the hood and begin to decrease 1 st from 2 sides from the 2 central sts in each 2nd p. 4 times. Fold the hood in the middle and distribute the stitches of the hood evenly over 2 knitting needles. Close the stitches of the 2 halves of the hood, as if purl with the help of the 3rd knitting needle.

Knitted jumper: description

We will knit a simple jumper. For a product with a height of 86 cm, you will need 200 g of yarn (in our case, these are 2 balls of 100 g each). The composition of the yarn is 49% wool and 51% acrylic. We use knitting needles No. 4 for the main fabric and No. 3 for elastic.

Before you start knitting (jumper for a boy), you need to correctly determine the number of loops, so dial 20 loops on knitting needles No. 4 and knit the sample in this way:

  • 1st loop - edge;
  • then 6 facial loops;
  • 2 purl;
  • for a pigtail - 6 facial loops, 4 purl loops and 1 edge loop.

You need to knit a pattern for 26-30 rows. Then wash and see if he sat down or stretched out. We measure the sample, in our case it is 9 cm.

A child with a height of 86 cm has a chest circumference of 55 centimeters. Thus, we calculate: we multiply 20 loops by 55 cm (the girth of the child’s chest) and divide everything by 9 cm (sample length) we get 122 (the required number of loops for knitting).

If your numbers do not match our example, then substitute your own to get the size of the jumper you need.

Since we have a product with a pigtail, and, as you know, pigtails pull the product together, the number of loops in the front should be more than on the back. We divide the loops in this way:

  • back - the number of loops is 58;
  • before - 64 loops.

Steps of knitting a jumper

To make the edge of the gum elastic, we will dial the loops in this way:

  1. We measure the required length of the thread, throw it on the thumb. We put the thread from the ball on the index finger, we clamp the thread at the bottom.
  2. Only one knitting needle is needed to cast on. This type is called an elastic band with an elastic edge or an Italian set of loops.
  3. We insert the knitting needle into the loop near the thumb, hold the thread with your finger, take it with the knitting needle from the index finger and drag it through the loop.
  4. Lower the thread and tighten the loop. The first loop is ready.
  5. We start the knitting needle under the thread and grab it from the index finger as well. This loop is similar to the front. Next, we do the same action in the opposite direction, thereby getting the wrong side.
  6. We collect in turn the purl and front loops, the penultimate loop of the product should be purl, and we do the last in the same way as the first, tying a knot at the end.

The front of the jumper has 64 loops, we collect 56 on the knitting needles, in other words, 8 loops less than it should be.

We start knitting the first row. To do this, we remove the extreme loop, we knit the second loop with the front one, we also remove the wrong one, transferring it by the thread. Then again the front loop, we knit it again. Thus, we remove all the wrong loops, and we knit the front loops to the end of the product. We always knit the last loop with purl, this is necessary to form a pigtail on the side of the product.

We knit the second row in the same way as the first.

From the third to the twelfth row we knit, alternating - 1 purl and 1 front. There should be 10 such rows.

We remind you that the elastic band decorating the jumper for the boy is knitted with knitting needles No. 3. And we have only purl loops.

The pattern is done with knitting needles No. 4. In the first row, you need to add 8 loops that we left before starting knitting gum.

In our case, the drawing consists of three types of patterns. If you have more loops than in the proposed version, then you need to add additional loops either in the middle of the pattern or along the edges. The drawing itself consists of 16 faces.

From the edge we knit 14 loops, alternating through one and adding 2 additional ones.

Jumper base

We start knitting the base:

  • The edge loop is removed.
  • Add 1 loop.
  • Next is the front.
  • Purl.
  • Facial.
  • Purl.
  • 1 front loop is added.
  • Purl.
  • Facial.
  • Purl.
  • Facial.
  • Purl.
  • Facial.
  • Add 1 purl loop.
  • Purl.
  • Purl.

We turn to the drawing, continuing knitting (jumper for a boy):

  • 5 knit loops for the pigtail pattern;
  • we add the sixth front loop;
  • 2 purl.

Central drawing:

  • 4 facial;
  • 1 front loop is added;
  • 6 facial;
  • 1 front add;
  • 4 facial.
  • 2 purl;
  • 1 front add;
  • 5 facial;
  • purl;
  • 1 purl is added;
  • facial;
  • purl;
  • facial;
  • purl;
  • facial;
  • 1 purl is added;
  • facial;
  • the last loop is necessarily wrong side.

If everything is done correctly, you will get 64 loops.

We knit the purl row according to the pattern of a jumper for boys with knitting needles. Schemes for side loops will be used in the form of a checkerboard style. In other words, we knit the purl loops with the facial ones, and the facial loops with the purl ones. So we knit 4 rows.

Creating a pigtail pattern for a jumper for boys with knitting needles

Schemes of the 5th row of basic knitting also have a checkerboard pattern. We need to swap the first three loops of the pigtail with the next three, for this we need to remove all 6 loops on the right knitting needle and first put on the first three removed loops on the left knitting needle, and then the next three. We knit them with facial loops - this is how the first pigtail will turn out. If desired, you can increase the height of the rows by adding 2 rows, but do not be zealous, otherwise the pattern will lose its appearance.

We knit the next six loops of the pattern in the same way as the first pigtail. And we repeat, increasing knitting by 4 rows in our case. If you had more rows in the first turn of the pigtail, then we knit the same number. In total, such turns are needed 6 through 4 rows.

And after that, we begin to reduce the front half by 3 loops in the first row. In the second row - two loops, and the third row - 1 loop. We continue knitting, increasing the pigtails by three turns in height.

Decide where you will have the neck and close the middle loops. Knit the required height of the product (in our case, 6 rows were enough).

The back of a jumper for a boy

To knit the back of a jumper for a boy with knitting needles, you need to dial 54 loops and knit an elastic band in the same way as the front.

In the main figure, at the same time, we add 2 loops symmetrically both on the right and on the left. The pattern is knitted in a checkerboard pattern, and the loops are reduced similarly to the front half of the product.

We knit a sleeve

To fully knit a jumper for a boy with knitting needles, you need to make sleeves. To do this, dial 40 loops and tie an elastic band in the same way as the front and back. In order for the sleeves to be the same, try to knit both at the same time. The height of the gum is 8 rows.

We proceed to the descent of the loops. We decrease by 3 loops, by the way of descent. The next row is reduced in the same way by 2 loops. We repeat the same steps further: 3 loops, 2 loops and the rest we close in the same way of descent.

The height of the sleeve was 29 cm, the width was 13 cm. At the bottom, the width of the sleeve was 7 cm. The inner part was 21 cm.

Assembly of parts for a jumper, processing of the neck

Sew all the pieces together

We crochet loops on the neck on the right side - 82 loops. We knit the first row with knitting needles. We knit the next two rows with the front. We repeat the same from the wrong side. The number of loops should be the same as in the front, in our version it is 82 loops.

We knit similarly to the front side 1 row of the wrong side and the next two loops of the front ones. Next, with a knitting needle, we knit the loops from the wrong side and the front together. We pass 4 rows in height and close all the loops.
