Funny and interesting are rugs in the form of animals. To make this, you can cut out a grid in the shape of a lying animal - with a body, head, tail, four paws, cut out a rectangle, decorate it with pompoms, and knit the rest of the body.

Yarn pompoms are made in several ways. For example, to decorate hats, they are made on two cardboard forms cut out in the form of identical wide rings. Then the pompoms are round. For our rug, they do not have to be very voluminous, so here's how to make a pom-pom out of yarn in this case.

We wind the thread around 4 fingers folded together in several rows. We remove the resulting workpiece from the hand, wrap it with the free end of the thread in the middle, tie it into a knot. We cut the threads on the right and left to make a kind of bow, and slightly pull on the free thread - the “tail”, which is in the middle, so that the workpiece takes on a rounded shape. We do not cut off the "tail", it will still be useful to us.

Create several blanks from threads of different colors. Here's what you get.

Starting from the corner, we tie our pompoms to the base. To do this, put the thread between the cells and tie it in a knot from the inside out. To secure the pom-pom more securely, you can pull the thread several times through adjacent cells.

To achieve the now fashionable ombre effect, use the yarn of the presented shades. Then first tie dark blue pompoms and gradually lighter ones.

Patchwork rug

If you don’t have yarn or want to create a free item, then consider a more budget-friendly option. For him, you can use scraps of fabric, old clothes. Then you will get a similar patchwork rug.

For him you will need:

• rags (fabric, old fabric clothes);
• scissors;
• hook.

First of all, rip apart the old thing at the seams if you decide to make a do-it-yourself rug from it. Lay the first part in front of you and, starting from the corner, cut it out with a strip 1-2 cm wide. This size depends on how thick you want the new product to be.

Try to make the strip longer. Then there will be fewer knots on the patchwork rug. Immediately roll the resulting cord into a ball so that the thread does not get tangled.

You can use a fabric of several colors, but wind it into different balls.

During work, when you need to tie the threads, bend the edge of one in the form of a loop, put the end of the second inside and tie the first with a knot.

Knitting is carried out with a large hook. First, make a loop at the end of the thread, insert the hook into it, pick up the adjacent section of the thread with the hook and pull it through the loop. Knit a few stitches in this way. Fold the resulting chain into a ring. Pass the hook through the first loop and start knitting the second row. So, in a circle, knit the entire patchwork rug.

After finishing work, mentally praise yourself for being such a needlewoman, although all the people who come to the house will celebrate this.

If you want such a butterfly to show off on the floor, then start knitting a carpet from the center of one wing, creating an oval shape. In this case, it is raspberry. Then trim with blue fabric. When knitting the edges of the wings, make them concave on one side, as shown in the photo. In this case, a tape cut from a yellow cloth was used for this.

Do the same for the second wing. Then tie the body and antennae of the butterfly from black ribbon. Sew it with insect wings.

From scraps of fabric, rags, you can make another carpet. It is fluffy and looks bulky.

The second life of old things

For such a product, even battered things are suitable. From places untouched by time, you will need to cut small fabric ribbons. Such a patchwork rug, made with your own hands, turns out to be very effective. It will be pleasant for the legs to sink into the pile of fabric.

To make this thing, you need:

• fabric or things (it is better to use knitwear);
• base mesh;
• hook;
• scissors.

Cut the canvas into strips measuring 20 x 2.5 cm. If you wish, you can color them with fabric paint. But it must be of high quality so that when walking on the finished product, paint is not imprinted on the feet and soles of the slippers.

Glue the edges of the mesh with masking tape on both sides around the perimeter.

To create such a doormat, use a special carpet hook. If you did not find this on sale, then you can take the usual knitting.

Attach patches as follows:

1. Thread the hook into the grid cell, take out its bent part through the adjacent hole.
2. Crochet the center of the ribbon, previously folded in half.
3. Thread both ends of the ribbon into the loop formed with a hook or hands.
4. Tighten the piece of fabric well.

Start weaving the stripes from the corner of the carpet, horizontally. Thus, do all the work. From the inside, the rug should turn out like this, without knots.

And on the front side - fluffy and voluminous.

How to weave a rope rug

Such an openwork product can be created without even having a hook. This rug is hand knitted with clothesline.

You can simply knit it in a circle, as described in the second example, or create a pattern. In the latter case, you will need a napkin knitting pattern. Here's how to crochet a rug.

And here you can make a rug out of a cord. For this, several blanks of different sizes are made. The cord is twisted in a spiral, and its fragments are glued. Then the blanks are fastened together with glue.

• felt for the base;
• glue;
• construction knife or scissors;
• rope or thick twine.

Cut out a circle from the felt, overcast it. If you have a thinner fabric, such as flannel, then fold it in half and work with a zigzag stitch.

We begin to twist the rope to make a cord rug. First, twist so as to create the central part of the product. We coat the coils with glue and apply them close to each other. Periodically apply a blank of fabric to the cord to understand when to finish the job.

Then cut off the excess rope and glue its tip so that the coils do not unwind. After that, apply glue in the form of "rays" on the wrong side of the rope circle, attach a fabric blank here and press it with your palms.

After the glue dries, you can use the rope rug for its intended purpose.

But what kind of product can be made from an ordinary clothesline, forming round fragments from it, and others in the form of shamrocks.

Knitting from threads with patterns

If you have never done this kind of work, the diagrams will help you to crochet a rug for beginners. If you want to create a round product, then pay attention to this tip.

Start knitting from the center. Crochet a chain of three loops, then connect them into a ring and knit the next (first) row, which will consist of 5 loops. Please note that in each subsequent row there are more loops (+1). Due to this, the rug increases towards the edges. The diagram shows that the addition is in each of the five sectors on the right. This is how a round rug is crocheted.

If you want it to be pentagonal, pay attention to the following finished product and its diagram.

First create 5 loops, close them in a ring. Then it executes:

• First row: 3 air loops (ch) lifting, 2 double crochets over the first air loop of the previous row, ch 2, * 3 double crochets, ch 2. Next, knit from * to * 5 times to form a pentagon.

And here is another way to create original things.

At home, a large number of plastic bags often accumulate. Beautiful products are also obtained from this waste material. For this, we only need:

• packages;

• scissors.

Take the packages. Straighten the first one and fold it several times as shown in the photo. Cut off the handles from it and cut into strips.

Then expand them. You will get cellophane rings that need to be tied together. To do this, we put the loop of one on the edge of the other, push it through and tighten it.

Now you need to wind the resulting threads into a ball, and you can start knitting a rug from the bags.

We put the hook into the ring-shaped tip of the thread and make the first loop.

Next, we knit a column of 5 loops, bend it in the form of a ring. We put the hook through the wall of the nearest loop, we throw a thread on it, we first stretch it through the first loop, then we put the thread on the hook again and stretch it through the second loop. Thus, we knit further in a circle.

A soft, fluffy carpet can be made using yarn, but in a different technique. A couple of hours of work and a minimum of financial investments - and you are the owner of a warm exclusive.

It is also made of threads, but here we need a mesh. You can knit it, or you can buy a nylon one at a hardware store, or you can take a multi-colored floral one as a basis. Even coarse burlap will do. Thus, you can save a lot of time. Next, you need to cut out the base of the shape we need: a circle, a square, a trace of an animal - everything that fantasy tells.

We cut the threads 10 cm long. To make the work go faster, you can wind them on a cardboard of the right size and cut them on both sides. We take a thick hook in our hands. We fasten the threads on one side of the grid, folding in half. A loop is captured with a hook and drawn from the "native" cell to the next one. We wind the ends of the thread into the loop and tie.

Pompoms are another interesting material

The third type of rug that can be made using thread is from pompoms. Very original products are obtained. You can dream up and add to the rug, for example, a head and paws, imitating the skin of an animal.

First of all, since we have a pom-pom rug, we need to make them. There are two options here: with a base and without. Both manufacturing options can be seen in the photo below.

In addition, we, as in previous versions, will need a base. You can also crochet it or buy a ready-made mesh with cells of the right size. We sew all the elements. Do not forget that the pompoms should fit very tightly to each other so that the rug looks nice and neat.

When all the "fluffies" are in place, cut out of dense fabric and sew on the "bottom" of the carpet, its wrong side. After that, the rug is ready.

Do-it-yourself carpet from scraps

After sewing, especially if you get carried away with it, a whole pile of patches usually remains. You can make a rug out of them, even without knowing how to knit at all. All you need is your hands, fabric, thread and a needle. And also a little patience - where without it?

Our rug will be a twisted pigtail in the form of a spiral. And it will be woven from patches. Cut them into strips. We take three pieces (of the same color or different - depending on your taste and idea), fasten the end with a pin and start weaving. The rug will only be as hard as the tightness of the braid.

When it is the desired length, we collect it in a spiral, stitching it with threads. The desired size has been reached and the product is ready.

rope carpet

An original interior solution will be a carpet made of rope. All you need is the rope itself, thick fabric, silicone glue and a sharp knife.

Cut out the base of the fabric in the form of a circle, hem the edge.

We wind the rope in a circle.

When it reaches the desired diameter, fix it with glue.

And finally glue the backing.

This rug is extremely easy to make. You can easily cope with its creation, you just need to learn how to tie knots. And then - it's a matter of time and patience.

You will need:

1. carpet canvas (or some kind of dense mesh with square cells);
2. any remnants of colored yarn;
3. a special hook with a foot (if it is unrealistic to find one, you can use a regular knitting hook, but this is much less convenient
4. Large mesh carpet canvas can be found in many craft stores and is sold by the meter in meter-wide rolls.

Threads for making a handmade carpet are preliminarily prepared. You need to cut them into segments of equal length. The easiest way to do this is to wind the yarn on a cardboard 7-8 cm wide, then remove and cut it from above and below (you can only from above or only from below, depending on the length of threads you need), according to the pom-pom principle.

Each thread is tied into a knot with a special hook for carpet weaving. These hooks come in different sizes, you need to choose the appropriate thickness of your threads. The hook passes between the cells of the canvas, catches the thread and tightens it into a special knot.

On such a rug, a geometric ornament will look very good. In addition, a pattern for cross-stitching is suitable as a future pattern. The principle is the same - one cross is one knot. I created my patterns myself in the Pattern Maker for cross stitch program.

It is very important to make a preliminary calculation so that the number of cells in the scheme does not exceed their number on the carpet canvas. It is also necessary to leave a couple of centimeters of canvas around the perimeter for the hem of the finished handmade carpet.

The edges of the rug can be folded to the wrong side, sheathed with braid, or, for example, handed over the rug to a framing workshop (where they will go under the frame). I like to tie the side with a regular crochet hook.

In the process of weaving the carpet, the tails of the loops turn out to be slightly different lengths.

To align them, the finished carpet is sheared (optional). There is a special tool for this purpose, but I use ordinary clerical scissors. The shorter the pile, the "clearer" the pattern of the carpet.

It was made according to the same scheme, but the knot was already tied at the stage under the number 4 (if you look at the above scheme). Please note that in this case, the knot still needs to be tied (without pulling out the ends of the threads completely), otherwise the thread will unravel.

Just three steps and the masterpiece is ready! You will need to select about 13 T-shirts. To take plain or colored T-shirts - it depends on your taste and interior.

First step. Production of knitted threads

Here's how to cut a t-shirt to make a single whole ribbon:

Second step. Braid weaving

From the resulting balls, we take three and begin to weave a braid. When the strip ends, we weave the next strip and so on until the fabric runs out. If the colors are different, then try to alternate them when weaving.

When working, it is convenient to weave the braid, holding it between the knees, and so that the braid is dense and does not bloom, use a clothespin when moving on to the next piece of weaving.

As a result, you will get a long multi-colored braid. Bend the ends and sew with a strong thread.

Third step. Machine stitching

Take a sewing machine and a knitting needle, put a zigzag on the stitch. Next, select the shape of the product: an oval or a rectangle (you get a track).

In an oval rug, you need to decide on the length of the center, the longer the center, the longer the rug. The smaller, the wider the oval will be.

We take the end, measure the length, do the inversion correctly - clockwise. We apply further the second row of pigtails.

Start stitching where the first turn is.

We pass between the two braids in a zigzag. We reach the place where the braid begins and carefully bend it under the next layer and again make a turn.

And so on in a circle (if it is an oval shape) or along a snake (if it is a rectangular shape) until the jersey braid ends.
