Pekhorka is simple. Review of pekhorka glamorous yarn. Yarn "Crossbred Brazil"

This weekend I was lucky to visit the company store of the Pekhorsky Textiles factory, the same one that produces knitting yarn under the Pekhorka brand.

There are two official stores in Moscow: on Volgogradsky Prospekt and near Paveletsky Station. I visited the one located near the station.

From the official website of Pekhorka:

Address: Russia, Moscow, st. Kozhevnicheskaya shopping center "Kozhevniki" (Gromada)
Metro: Paveletskaya
Telephone: 8-964-510-15-97
Working hours: Mon-Sat from 10:00 to 20:00, Sun from 10:00 to 19:00
Directions: Paveletskaya metro station, exit to the station. Walk along the Paveletsky Station Square (the station is on the right), then straight along the tram line to the Gromada shopping center, entrance to the Kozhevniki shopping center,2nd floor, left wing.

It wasn't difficult to get there. The description is exactly true!

Yarn store and assortment

Upon entering the shopping center, I immediately went up the stairs and went to the left wing. The store is located right at the end of the alley. It is not at all like modern stores: don’t expect lockers at the entrance, cashiers or consultants. It is best to compare this outlet to a warehouse.

On a small counter and a couple of shelves, multi-colored skeins are laid out in single copies, with price tags, and samples. And along the walls, on shelves with a larger capacity of 3-4 meters in height, packages of yarn are comfortably arranged.

What kind of yarn is there! All types, very, very many colors (but not all). There are bobbins for machine knitting and yarn for felting. It’s impossible to leave without picking up something!

The saleswoman in the store is alone, sitting at the cash register and knitting (as far as I understand). He greets you, doesn’t interfere with your choice, willingly answers questions and helps with advice if you ask.

Near the cash register there is a small assortment of knitting accessories. But this is definitely not what you should go to this store for.

Prices for skeins

As for the prices, they are quite decent (in the sense that they are small). For example:

  • “Australian merino” (95% wool, 100 g) - 230 rubles,
  • “Children's whim” (50% wool, 50 gr.) - 78 rubles,
  • “Children’s tenderness” (25% wool, 50 gr.) - 75 rubles,
  • “Needlewoman” (100% polypropylene, 50 g) - 35 rubles.

For comparison, in the famous hobby hypermarket “Leonardo”:

  • “Australian merino” (95% wool, 100 g) - 249 rubles,
  • “Children's whim” (50% wool, 50 gr.) - 84 rubles,
  • “Needlewoman” (100% polypropylene, 50 g) - not for sale.

And the choice in the company store is many times greater!

Of course, if you buy in small wholesale through the Ozon.ru store, it turns out that it’s cheaper on Ozone:

  • “Australian merino” (95% wool, 100 g) - 192 rubles,
  • “Children's whim” (50% wool, 50 gr.) - 63 rubles,
  • “Children's tenderness” (25% wool, 50 g) - not for sale,
  • “Needlewoman” (100% polypropylene, 50 g) - 30 rubles.

But when ordering on Ozone, it is impossible to indicate a smaller number of skeins than are in the package. Well, you can’t touch anything - and this is very important when choosing yarn!

Pekhorka yarn quality

Having finally realized that I wanted to knit, I began to look for “my” yarn. I tried Turkish, German, Austrian, and Russian (Pekhorka, Semenovskaya, Kirovskaya).

For myself, I made the following conclusions:

  • German yarn is easier and more pleasant for knitting. There are no problems with her. But! This yarn is expensive - 2-3 times more expensive than Russian yarn,
  • In terms of price-quality ratio, you won’t find a better Pekhorka in Russia. The yarn does not prick (the one that is not 100% wool, but it is better to feel it in person), does not fade, does not stretch, and is very easy to knit both with crochet and knitting.

In conclusion

To summarize all of the above:

  1. If you have the opportunity to visit this (or any other branded store), then it is worth doing. Nowhere else can you get acquainted with the entire range of yarns.
  2. It is very convenient to buy skeins of yarn to try in a company store. That’s why, when choosing between “Children’s whim” and “”, I took the latter.
  3. If you are sure that this is the type of yarn and this particular color you need, then you can order it on the Internet - in my opinion, this is the only way to completely guess with the yarn.

That's all. I wish you creative success and smooth stitches!

Despite the abundance of ready-made knitwear for every taste and budget, interest in knitting does not wane. This love for knitting needles and crochet is very simply explained: clothes, accessories, home furnishings created with your own hands are always favorite and precious things. And Pekhorka, a domestically produced yarn, helps to create them.

History of creation

The textile factory, which set up a line for the production of knitting threads, was created back in pre-revolutionary times, back in 1905. The location of the enterprise gave it the sonorous name “Pekhorka”. The yarn is named after the river on the banks of which the factory is located.

Its founders were the Korzin brothers, they founded a business that successfully exists to this day. A rich assortment, high quality products and their availability are the main criteria by which the company operates these days, and Pekhorka yarn (reviews and high sales are proof of this) is a really good raw material loved by many needlewomen.

Great choice

Can you imagine a damp, chilly autumn without a cozy cardigan, or a cold winter without a warm scarf and mittens? Of course not! The requirements for these products are the most stringent, because they must be warm, comfortable, and durability plays a role.

“Pekhorka” is a yarn that will satisfy the most fastidious and demanding customer. Finding the right composition, color and texture is not difficult.

Samples made from 100% natural raw materials, as well as with various synthetic additives, are presented to the attention of needlewomen.

Cotton, sheepskin, merino, alpaca, acrylic, mixed compositions - all these types, as well as many others (and there are more than 100 of them) are created with love and care. Threads without knots and irregularities are very easy to use in knitting by hand and on special knitting machines.

Color spectrum

It’s amazing how many flowers in the assortment “Pekhorka” can please. The yarn from this company can be plain or melange. Moreover, in each series there are up to several dozen different shades.

Using melange threads, knitwear is produced with a pattern. These can be clear contrasting stripes, a variegated multi-colored fabric, or a smooth transition from one tone to another. This effect is achieved through sectional dyeing of the thread in a strictly specified order.

Coloring occurs using high-quality and durable dyes. Knitted products are absolutely safe if their base is Pekhorka yarn. Reviews about it are very good; it is used for knitting adult and children's clothing, various home textiles (blankets, toys, tablecloths, napkins).

It's no secret that to succeed in any business, its owner must be very sensitive to consumer sentiment. The Pekhorsk factory is trying to diversify its product range. That is why among simple threads there are quite interesting positions.

To create clothes with a twist, you should pay attention to the “Shimmering” yarn. This is acrylic yarn with the addition of the finest Lurex thread. It is perfect for knitting elegant clothes: dresses, shawls or boleros.

“Beaded” yarn is another copy of “Pekhorka”. The threads in it are intertwined in a special way, quite tightly and tightly. Such a thread in the finished product forms a grainy structure and, indeed, looks as if the product is embroidered with tiny beads.

For lovers of bulky knitting, manufacturers produce yarn called “Creative”. It is made using acrylic thread with a light whitish tint. Products made from it are incredibly soft, pleasant to the touch and very warm - just what you need for cool autumn days.

Summer

Most often associated with the cold season. But this is a serious misconception! The Pekhorsk factory offers needlewomen a large selection of yarn to create a summer wardrobe. This can be clothing for both adults and children. “Pekhorka” is a universal yarn, and its use as the basis for children’s suits, sweaters, dresses and demi-season hats or coats will be an excellent solution.

The summer assortment is rich in yarn made from natural raw materials. These are primarily mercerized, gas-colored and plain cotton, linen and viscose. Clothes made from such material are light, breathable and hygroscopic, and these are exactly the qualities that things should have in hot weather.

All the best for children

Every mother wants the best for her baby. And who among the mothers and loving grandmothers has not knitted cute booties, lace hats and cozy suits? And although “Pekhorka” children’s yarn is a new product, such a line appeared in the assortment relatively recently, and it quickly won over its customers.

Delicate texture of the thread, ease of knitting, variety of colors, naturalness - these are the qualities that the children's range of knitting yarn can boast of.

In addition, the positive characteristics of threads also appear in finished products. Children's clothes get dirty very often and need to be washed regularly. Often it is this procedure that distorts the appearance of knitted items. The correct washing cycle, as well as delicate detergents, will help keep hand-knitted wardrobe items in excellent condition, even after many washes.

To avoid allergic reactions and irritation, thread manufacturers use the best raw materials. So, yarn “Pekhorka. Children's whim" is made of wool and fiber. This composition provides warmth and hygroscopicity of clothing, which is very important for little fidgets.

The ruble saves a pretty penny

Threads made from natural wool become the record holder for prices. The more it contains and the more exotic the origin of the raw materials (alpaca, llama, merino, camel wool), the higher the cost of such yarn. On average, budget ones range from 500 rubles for 5 skeins weighing 100 g each.

Pekhorka yarn from A to Z

The history of the Pekhorsk factory dates back to the distant and memorable year 1905 for Russia, when a cloth factory was built not far from Moscow on the western outskirts of the village of Zhilino by the Korzin brothers. Factory buildings grew up on a low picturesque hill, on the banks of the Pekhorka River.
Currently, the company produces more than 100 articles of yarn, and has mastered the following types of raw materials: wool, alpaca, angora, camel hair, cotton, linen, viscose, acrylic. The production of fancy yarn, section-dyed yarn, melange and mulled yarn has been launched in a wide range. Production waste is successfully processed and high-quality batting is produced.

On my next trip to the Leonardo store for yarn, an interesting skein of Pekhorka Glamornaya came into my field of vision. And since I needed a new hat, I bought a couple of skeins to try.

Yarn Pekhorka Glamorous is very soft and fluffy to the touch. Products made from it should be voluminous. The structure of the thread is unusual - as if something fluffy was wound around the hollow braid of their translucent thread.

  • interesting selection for the site!!!
  • Children's hats, without adult models

On the Internet I found a completely different composition of this yarn, with lurex and something shiny. My yarn has no shine.

A skein contains 50 g, thread length 175 m.

The composition of Pekhorka Glamornaya today: 35% merino wool, 35% acrylic, 30% polyamide.

Price 90 rub. for 1 skein of Glamorous Pekhorka.

The color range is extensive, the colors are beautiful and modern: light blue, delicate violet, mustard, sea wave, dark emerald, peas, etc. My numbers in the photo: 29 pink lilac and 191 blackberry.

The length of the thread is excellent and, according to my calculations, should be enough for an adult beanie hat. I knitted a hat.

My review of Pekhorka Glamorous yarn

Pekhorka Glamorous yarn is voluminous and fluffy, and it was immediately clear that unraveling a product made from it would be problematic. My guesses were confirmed. I cast on the wrong number of loops, and I only managed to unravel the initial chain; when knitting double crochets, everything got tangled, the yarn broke, but did not unravel. Perhaps when knitting there will be no such problem.

The structure of the Pekhorka Glamornaya thread is heterogeneous, so don’t expect an even fabric. There are some small lumps, but they can be straightened out. The most unpleasant thing awaited me at the end of the ball - a section of 2 meters was all black, perhaps the yarn got somewhere on the machine and got dirty. Since I had to throw away a piece of unraveled fabric at the very beginning, I was very worried that there wouldn’t be enough yarn to finish knitting the hat. But everything worked out well.

I knitted a hat for myself from one skein. I took a hook number 4.5, knitted it loosely, I think it would be unreasonable to tighten the fabric with this yarn. I cast on 40 air loops, the hat turned out to be 26 cm long and 25 cm wide. It didn’t fit on an adult head at all, but I just wanted a large, voluminous beanie hat. From the second skein of Pekhorka Glamornaya I plan to knit a second pack and cast on 45 stitches.

Living colors of Pekhorka Glamornaya

I believe that Pekhorka Glamorous yarn is well suited for hats, scarves, snoods, stoles and children's clothes. Its cost is small - 100 rubles. per skein, so don't expect super quality. It also seems to me that it will pill during wear, so you shouldn’t knit large things from it right away. I have plans for a hat for my daughter and a winter stole.

On the site I found one work knitted from this yarn:

Children's crochet vest from Alexandra Karvelis

Crochet home vest. The task was to make a warm blouse for the house during the cold season before the central heating was started. This vest is knitted very simply and quickly. Yarn Pekhorka Glamorous, consumption 100 g + binding and flower for children

If your store doesn’t have pekhorka nearby, then look at Fiji from the Trinity Factory as an analogue. Fiji is similar in composition, but the base of the thread is more pronounced. The white braid shows through the base color and contains less wool. Fiji may be more suitable for some products. Composition: 60% cotton, 20% merino wool, 20% acrylic, 95m in 50g.

I am glad to welcome knitting lovers!

I like to knit various interesting and unusual things. My passion is shared by my customers))) I take on unusual orders with great pleasure! For example, here are these bunny booties:

Bunny booties - made from "Handmade" yarn from "Pekhorka" - blue and white (items 05 and 01)

The booties are knitted from yarn from the manufacturer "Pekhorka" - "Handmade", 2 colors are used - white (article 01) and blue (article 05). The consumption is very small - it’s hard to say more precisely, because I knitted 2 booties from two skeins at the same time. Well, maybe a skein of blue yarn in total or even less, and a little bit of white. Knitting needles took number 2.

Why did I suddenly start knitting booties with Handicraft yarn?

Firstly, the necessary colors were at hand, and secondly - because I had previously tried Handicraft - I knitted a baby blanket for a crib (size approximately 75 cm by 130 cm). It seemed like it would never end!.. I spent about a month knitting such a blanket))) I bought 2 packages for the blanket (in one package - 5 skeins of 50 grams each), and it wasn’t enough - I had to buy 1 skein at retail. In total, the blanket took 11 skeins (approximately 550 grams). Knitted with knitting needles number 2.5.

And now about the yarn.

Yarn "Handmade" from "Pekhorka", article 01

Manufacturer: Pekhorsky Textile LLC (popularly referred to simply as Pekhorka), Russia.

On the label there is information: “Handmade” yarn for hand knitting, summer series.

Article 01 - color white.

175 meters at 50 degrees,

There is no information or recommendation on the hook number - apparently, crocheting is not recommended. Honestly, I haven't tried it. And I don't recommend it. To avoid repeating the story that happened to me - I described it in the review, I recommend reading -

I’ll add from myself: handmade yarn pekhorka has a fairly dense and smooth twist, there is no effect of lint or fluff - absolutely smooth acrylic (not fluffy, not voluminous). Thanks to this twisting, products knitted with knitting needles turn out very beautiful, even and smooth. It “creaks” in the skein, but not in the finished product. Very pleasant to the touch (in the finished product). It has a light, noble shine, and this also improves the appearance of finished products made from this yarn.

Children's blanket - "in progress". Handmade yarn from Pekhorka, article 01

On my own behalf, I give a rating of “4” to the Handicraft yarn - only because of the presence of defects in almost every skein. Maybe the batch was like this... Maybe I was unlucky... But in almost every skein there was a small defect - either a knot, or some green places instead of white (small, but still!), and even some some foreign inclusions (similar to straw... although where would it come from? But it’s a fact). If it weren’t for these unpleasant moments, then I would definitely give it a “5” and praise it tirelessly!..))) Although I didn’t notice any defects in the blue Handicraft (article 05) (I’m already knitting the third booties from this article).

But despite the above, I buy “Handicraft” yarn again and again - it’s very cheap (in my favorite online store - 155 rubles for a pack of 5 skeins), and I like the dense, smooth thread, which, when knitting with knitting needles, lies very smoothly and Beautiful! I advise you to try it too - buy yarn Pekhorka Rukodelnaya. I bought Handicrafts from Pekhorka for future use - I want to tie pillowcases onto the sofa cushions. As soon as I knit it, I’ll definitely brag about it!

I plan to write a series of reviews with photographs of my work. I hope my reviews are helpful. If it's not difficult, please rate it.
