Hat and snood pattern * Braid with shadow. How to knit a fashionable snood scarf, collar, scarf with large braids and a scarf hood with regular and circular knitting needles: knitting methods and pattern ideas for knitting scarves with step-by-step instructions and patterns How to knit snood with braids with knitting needles under

Let's consolidate what we learned earlier ... Let's knit snood with knitting needles snood with knitting needles with an oblique in the middle))) Let me remind you that snood is such a big circular scarf: D This model is knitted quite simply and quickly. We already know all the techniques used in it)))

What is good about this snood with knitting needles with a scythe ... This is a two-sided product, that is, a snood can be worn on both sides - they look exactly the same. The model is taken from the vast expanses of the Internet)))

For knitting snood, it took me 2 skeins (200 gr.) of Turkish angorka and 2 skeins (200 gr) of beby yarn, also made in Turkey.

Knitting techniques:

Pattern "Scythe"

To make the product double-sided, you just need to knit the “body” of the braid itself not with front loops, but alternating front and back loops, that is, we knit a simple elastic band in the pattern gap (in our case 2 * 2) and we twist it.
how to make a transition can be seen here

remove 10 loops on the auxiliary knitting needle, knit 12 according to the pattern, return 10 sts to work and knit them also according to the pattern.

Important! if you undertook to cross the loops to the right, then do it all the time until the end of the work! So that the braid all the time “looks” in one direction

How to knit a snood with a braid

  1. we collect on the knitting needles the number of loops we need (in my case 60 loops)
  2. front rows - we knit 16 loops in garter stitch (all facial), 22 stitches with a braid pattern, 22 loops in garter stitch (all facial)
  3. Purl rows - we knit 16 loops in garter stitch (all facial), 22 stitches according to the figure, 22 loops in garter stitch (all facial)
  4. we knit until we get bored ...))) We close the loops. We sew the product along the narrow side of the rectangular fabric. All!)))
  5. We get ready snood)))

New 2017-2018

In pursuit of fresh trends of the autumn-winter season, many women of fashion choose for themselves and as a gift men's or women's snoods. Scarves can be simple or in the form of a "Mobius strip", which allows for a tighter fit around the neck. There is an option where the snood is not sewn into a ring, but is fastened with buttons, such accessories are distinguished by a small diameter.

Products in one turn have different lengths - they are put on the head in the form of a hood, or are provided exclusively for warming the neck. When choosing the first option, the pattern is drawn along the short or long side of the product.

How to knit snood with knitting needles? The knitting pattern depends on the type of yarn, thick products with embossed patterns and braids, mohair openwork designs, and models created in jacquard technique are in fashion. Fur and beads are used for decoration.

An excellent solution for a coat or jacket would be RicoCreative TwistSuperChunky light gray snood. The principle of rice knitting is based on the alternation of one person. and one out. loops, but the main difference from a single elastic band is the alternation of loops. Above the facial loops in subsequent rows, purl ones follow and vice versa.

Dimensions according to wearer's age:

From 3 to 5 years: 150 mm - width and 990 mm - length.

From 6 to 8 years: 180 mm - width and 1130 mm - length.

From 9 to 11 years: 200 mm - width and 1270 mm - length.

For adults: 220 mm - width and 1410 mm - length.

Material preparation:

Thread RicoCreative TwistSuperChunky (1 skein 100g) in light gray No. 004

For children from 3 to 5 years, 1 package is enough.

From 6 to 8 years: 2 packs.

From 9 to 11 years old: 2 packs.

Adults: 3 packs.

Knitting needles are straight with limiters 1 cm wide (No. 10).

Density: 15 rows and 8.5 loops = 100 * 100 mm.

Step by step instructions:

On the knitting needles, dial, based on the selected parameters 13 (15; 17; 19) loops and knit rows:

1 row (on the front): * 1 p. Stitch, 1 out. *, knit from * to * to * the end of the row, the last loop must be done front. Continuing knitting, repeat the 1st row, forming a moss pattern. Upon reaching 99 (114; 128; 142) cm, work should be completed.

Product assembly

Sew the short sides of the scarf. Place the snood on a flat, hard surface, for example, on a table where you need to spread a towel or sheet first. Place a wet washcloth on top. Leave until completely saturated with moisture. Remove the towel at the top and leave the scarf in a predetermined position until completely dry. Snood is ready to wear.

English gum

To work, you will need a thin woolen thread (50 g), knitting needles No. 9, scissors and a needle.

The first row is knitted according to the scheme:

One satin stitch, 1 thread thrown over, removing an unknitted loop. Repeat. So you need to knit the entire row.

When performing the 2nd row, it is required to throw on the thread, remove the loop without knitting, knit the loop and yarn over from the previous row together.

For the 3rd row, it is necessary: knit a yarn over with a loop from the previous row, throw on the thread, remove the loop, without knitting.

All further rows are represented by alternating the 2nd and 3rd rows until the specified height of the scarf-collar is reached.

To connect the beginning and end of the snood, many knitters prefer to leave the loops open on the last row. Putting the knitting needle with loops aside, you should use a hook and an additional knitting needle to collect the same number of loops from the beginning of the product. The result will be 2 knitting needles with loops at different ends of the scarf, pointing in the same direction.

The knitting needles are applied one to the other and with the help of the 3rd knitting needle, all the loops from the two working knitting needles are closed in order of priority. The resulting seam will have a thickness less than usual, but more reliable.

If you use several shades of yarn when creating a scarf, the thing will turn out to be more colorful and attractive.

Snood "Pink Ashes"

In the considered version, 2 types of knitting are used: “rice” and “braid”.

Knitting "rice":

1 row (from the front side): alternating 1 p. Stitch and 1 out. n. until the end of the row.

2 row (from the wrong side): according to the pattern.

Step by step instructions:

Having typed 129 loops, you should start 1 row from the front side. The sequence of loops: 20 purl, 8 facial, 20 purl, 1 stitch stitch crossed. Following is the “rice” pattern 1 by 1 by 2 (31 loops), 1 person. crossed and again: purl 20, facial 8, purl 20.

New row (wrong side): according to the pattern.

Next 5 rows: following the sequence of one front and back loop.

On the 8th front row, 20 purl loops are provided, 4 stocking loops are removed for additional. knitting needle before starting work, 4 l. loops, 4 l. loops with additional spokes. Then 20 out. loops, 1 front loop crossed, 31 loops according to the pattern "Rice 1 * 1 * 2". It remains to make 1 person. crossed loop, 20 purl loops, 4 l. n. remove for extra. knitting needle behind the product and knit 4 l. p., 4 p. stitch from the other knitting needle, 20 out. P.

Knit 15 rows, following the sequence of knit and purl.

Repeat rows for the specified number of times.

Spring scarf-snood

The pattern is created from a garter stitch and a braid based on long loops taken off.

Garter stitch requires all rows to be knitted.

For braiding from removed long loops, you need to dial 26 loops. The total number should be a multiple of 6 + 2 loops on the edges.

1 row is created from facial loops.

2 - from purl.

3 - all loops must be converted into each front with 3 turns. To do this, you need to enter the knitting needle into the loop from left to right, wind its end 3 p. to the right.

4 - remove, without knitting from the left to the right knitting needle 6 loops (next, after the edge), due to the turns they must be pulled out at the same time, then return 6 loops to the left knitting needle, and insert the right one into the 4th, 5th and 6th loops, pulling in height and stretching the first 3 loops in them. Then put 4-6 loops on the left knitting needle and pass 6 loops out. P.

5 row by analogy with the 3rd.

6 - knit 3 removed loops in turn out. p., * discard the turns, removing 6 loops on the right knitting needle, raise the first 3 p. with the front knitting needle and stretch 3 next loops through them (by analogy with the 4th row). The stretched 3 loops must be put on the left knitting needle again and go through 6 loops in turn. n. From * repeat until the end of the row. At the end of 3 rows, purl and edge loop.

7th row - repeat the pattern from the 3rd row.

Alternate placement of patterns or in compliance with a checkerboard pattern is allowed. Permissible length - 1 or 2 turns.

Knit 4 rapports of braid 1 (8 rapports of braid 2) = 48 rows.

To finish work.

Snood «Fishbone Snood»

Width: 250 mm.

Finished length: 600 mm.

To work, you need 300 g of Bulky yarn (100-120 m in 50g). Aran yarn (160 - 200 m in 100 g) looks good, provided that the number of loops is increased and knitting needles with a smaller diameter are used.

The size of the circular needles 6 and 7 mm. When choosing a larger needle size, a looser canvas is formed. To create a test sample, Schulana Merlana yarn (55m/50g) 6 packs was taken.

Basic actions:

Cast on 180 stitches on circular needle size 6mm, leaving a marker at the end of the row, connect the knitting and knit in a circular pattern.

Using knitting needles of 6 mm, you need to knit 6 rows with the order of the front and back rows (create a garter stitch).

1 row knit persons. n. Change knitting needles to 7 mm -1 row knit faces. on 7 mm needles.

To achieve a given height, the scheme proposed below will serve. Even rows must be knitted in a pattern.

1 row of faces. p. on knitting needles 7 mm.

Change needles to 6mm and knit 1 row of faces.

Knit 6 rows in garter stitch, alternating knit and purl, cast off.

Children's options

For children, snoods, scarves and collars, scarves made of thick yarn are ideal. They are also quite suitable for teenage girls.

Snood from very thick yarn

One of the proposed options is equipped with one button. The thread is very voluminous (80% acrylic, 20% wool, 100 m / 170 g).

Below is a skein of very thick yarn:

To eliminate errors in the calculations, you should dial 20 loops, having previously selected knitting needles with a thickness of 9 mm. After the 10th row, the number of loops in 100 mm should be calculated. So it will turn out to find out how many loops are required to achieve the desired length.

Material preparation:

Bulk threads - 1 skein.

Hosiery needles - 9 mm.

Button - 1, width 2 cm.

Buttons - 3 pcs.

The product has a width of 22 cm, a length of 66 cm. Initially, you need to dial 65 loops on the knitting needles, then knit with circular knitting needles, since knitting is carried out in width. In the absence of circular knitting needles, you can use the usual ones, but you get a tight knit. Having typed 65 loops (it is possible to change the quantity, based on the type of yarn), it remains to knit 15 rows of facial ones. After closing the loops, you will need to sew a button and buttons there from the inside.

Material blanks:

  • Thread - 1.5 balls.
  • Buttons - 4 pcs.
  • Buttons - 4 pcs.

Brief instruction:

  • Throw 22 loops on the knitting needles and knit 8 rows of facial ones.
  • 9 row: facial.
  • 10 p.: out. P.
  • 11 p.: 22 out. p. + nakid.
  • 12 p.: 23 persons. P.
  • 13 p.: 23 out. p. + nakid.
  • 14 p.: 24 out. etc.

Add until 33 loops are typed. For the lapel, you can use garter stitch or 2/2 elastic as the bottom of the snood. Knit up to 48 rows, which will allow you to get closer to the middle of the product, and then knit in a mirror image. It is important to track the symmetry of both halves. Close loops. Sew on buttons and buttons from the inside.

Snood clamp

The pattern is based on the alternation of front and back knitting. The resulting product can be worn down, around the neck, under a jacket, or over a hood. Especially the product is worn well in the winter season, since during severe frosts the lower part of the baby's face will not freeze.

Below is a knitting pattern:

The list of materials includes:

Wool Baby Wool (200 m / 50 gr.) - 2 balls.

Hosiery needles 4 mm. You can use simple ones (3.5 mm), then sew on the canvas.

When using knitting needles with a diameter of 3.5 mm, an increase in their number is required. The resulting product will have a width of 52 cm, a height of 24.5 cm. You can increase the parameters after trying on.

Scheme for a set of 80 loops:

1st and 2nd row: 1 st in satin stitch, 1 st inside out, 1 st in satin stitch, 1 st inside out. Repeat until the end of the row.

3rd and 4th row: 1 st inside out, 1 st in satin stitch, 1 st inside out, 1 st in satin stitch. Repeat until the end.

Then repeat as in row 1. A tangle pattern is formed. When using circular needles, you need to mark the beginning of the row with a pin. Next, you need to continue knitting to a given height (can be measured with a ruler or meter). The collar is knitted to a height of 21 cm (58 rows), and then you need to dial an elastic band 2/2 (2 facial, 2 purl) another 3.5 cm (7 rows). At the end of knitting, it remains to close the loops.

Long scarf

Scarves or shawls with long stripes are the hit of the season. The stripes are sewn to the product at the end of the work. They can be thin or wide. The ends are decorated with tassels or pompoms.

To create brushes, a cardboard of the given parameters will serve, where you need to stretch the thread on top and wind the yarn. The splendor of the brush depends on the amount of thread. Then you should pull the top thread tightly and make an additional tie lower, also tighten. Trim the bottom of the brushes with scissors.

To create a scarf, use the usual garter stitch, knitting needles will be required with a thickness of 9 mm.

Loops to dial, as on a garter stitch. For a scarf, light gray yarn with white stripes will serve. Thread - wool mixture (50% wool, 50% cotton).

The thickness of the spokes is 8 mm. 10 cm of knitting = 13 loops / 16 rows. Dial 6 loops on the needles and knit, adding 1 loop in all rows. Knit with increments to the row where there are already 22 loops. Further width is kept at 22 loops, with the addition of a white thread after 10 rows. Then - use a light gray thread to a given length. Having decided on the center of the product, you should continue knitting in a mirror image. Finish the scarf with 6 loops, add a pompom.

The most popular hat today is a hat knitted with a braid pattern with a shadow. It is knitted with different weaves for 9,12 and even 18 loops and each time they look like different hats. A scarf or snood is knitted in the kit, and also mittens or mitts. Here are different options for gradients so that you can choose the one that you like best.

Description of knitting:

Hat master class and description from mamik2

Yarn- can be any wool mixture, wool, mohair, acrylic. The main thing is that the yarn holds the braids well and stretches. If you want to knit with a gradient, then you need to take the yarn as thin as possible. I recommend a gradient from Lana Gold800 in 3 strands and Elite in 4 strands.
Knitting needles - 2 pairs of short circular ones for elastic band 2-3 and for the main fabric 4-5. If you will knit in rotary rows, then take straight or circular long knitting needles.

because I knit in the round, I add a video on how to beautifully connect the first row so that this connection is not visible

Patterns: large braids for 18p and a warp in each 6p. You can knit braids for 9 or 12p if knitting for a child.
knitting density in unstretched form after sto:
elastic band 1*1 in 1cm 3p;
braid in 1cm 4p
rice pattern for snood (who will knit) in 1 cm 1.6p

A cap:

For og 56-58, I dial 2.5 94p on the needles and close in a circle and knit with an elastic band 1 * 1 6-7cm.

Now we need to make additions. I usually increase the number of loops by 40-50% and adjust to the rapport. My braid will be large of 18p. I think. 94+50%=94+47=141, 141/18=7.8, I take 8 rapports. 18p*8=144p.
I count increments. 144-94=50p I need to add. 94/50=1.88, round up to 2p. Every 2p I need to add loops.
94/2=47p. With such increases, I will add only 47p, instead of 50. So in the 2nd row from the elastic band, I need to add the remaining 3p.

After the increase, I knit 4-5 rows with front stitch so that the pattern does not warp the elastic. I start knitting the pattern. I remove the first 6p on an additional knitting needle and knit the next 6p.

Then I return the loops to the knitting needle and knit them, then the next 6p just front loops

So I knit to the end of the row.
Having tied up to the 6th row, I make the next overlap.
the first 6 sts I knit faces, the next 6 sts I reshoot on an additional knitting needle

then I knit the next 6p

and now I return and knit loops from dp knitting needles

So I knit to the end of the row.

At an arbitrary height, I start the gradient. I cut one of the threads and replace it with another

Decrease: braid for 15p, adding / subtracting loops between decreases, you can close your hat beautifully.

Crown closure if starting from row 4

1r- * 2 persons, 2 vm, 8 persons *

Scarf or snood:

Now I started knitting a scarf with a pattern of rice. I took sp 4 and Elite in 4 strands, scored 27p. I knit with a straight linen about 1m long. If you decide to knit snood, then here's how I knitted.

With Elite yarn in 4 threads and sp 4, I scored 106p and closed in a circle, as shown in the video. Then I have 105 p left, from the first row we knit a rice pattern. (persons, out. Offset in each row). At an arbitrary height, I started knitting a gradient. Having reached the desired height, I closed all 105 p in the usual way.

The size turned out to be 34 * 40cm when folded.
Here is the result.

Pattern scheme:

The chart shows both knit and purl rows. Front (odd rows) read from right to left, purl (even rows) read from left to right.

The width of the braid is 9 stitches. In height, repeat from the 1st to the 8th row.

Symbols for the scheme:

facial (facial - in the front rows, purl - in the purl)

Cross 6 loops to the left (leave 3 loops on the auxiliary needle before work

Cross 6 loops to the right (leave 3 loops on the auxiliary needle at work , knit the next 3 loops with facial, then 3 loops with auxiliary. knitting needles)

Mittens:

The size of the mittens in this example: 7

For knitting you will need: the yarn is the same as on the hat, stocking needles No. 6

Elastic band 2×2: alternately 2 persons., 2 out.

Left mitten. On stocking needles No. 6, dial 28 loops, distribute them on 4 knitting needles (7 loops each) and close knitting in a circle. Knit with an elastic band for 4 cm.

In the last row, distribute the loops on 3 knitting needles, for this, transfer 14 loops from 1-2 knitting needles to one, so on the 1st knitting needle - 14 loops of the main pattern, on the 2nd and 3rd knitting needles - 7 loops each.

The loops of the 1st knitting needle are knitted with the main pattern of 14 loops according to the pattern or in the same pattern as the cap:

1-3 rows: 3 out., 8 persons., 3 out.;

4th row: 3 out., 4 persons. cross to the right: 2 p. leave on the auxiliary. knitting needle at work, 2 persons. and hinges with auxiliary Knitting needles for persons., 4 persons. cross to the left: 2 p. leave on the auxiliary. knitting needle before work, 2 persons. and hinges with auxiliary knitting needles persons., 3 out.

Repeat from the 1st row. Loops 2-3 knitting needles (from the side of the palm) knit faces.

After 7 cm from the beginning of knitting the main pattern, form thumb hole. On the 3rd needle from the side of the palm: knit 2 faces., Remove 4 loops on a pin (or on a thread of a contrasting color), dial 4 loops on the knitting needle and knit 1 loop on the knitting needle. Then knit in circular rows continuing the pattern, to the required length of the mittens.

When the little finger of the hand is closed, proceed to knitting toe mittens. To do this, in the last row of the pattern, again distribute the loops on 4 knitting needles. Then proceed to decrease the loops: at the beginning of the 1st knitting needle - 1 loop of faces. with a tilt to the left, the next 2 knit together faces. with a slope to the left, knit the remaining loops to the end. On the 2nd needle (at the end) - knit all the loops on the knitting needle, when the last 3 loops remain, 2 of them knit together faces., last loop knit faces. On the 3rd needle - knit as on the first. On the 4th needle - knit, as on the second. Decrease stitches until there are 2 stitches left on all needles. Pull the last 8 loops with a working thread and fasten it on the wrong side.

Right mitten knit symmetrically, i.e. form a hole for the thumb on the 2nd knitting needle from the side of the palm: knit 1, remove 4 loops on a pin (or on a thread of a contrasting color), cast on 4 loops on the knitting needle and knit the remaining 2 loops on the knitting needle.

Thumb. Transfer the removed 4 loops to the knitting needle, cast on 4 loops on a parallel row and 2 loops each on the side rows. Distribute 12 loops on 4 knitting needles (3 loops per knitting needle), knit in circular rows. Having knitted a finger to the required length, make a decrease in the loops. On each needle, knit the first two loops together with the front. Pull the last eight loops with a working thread and fasten it on the wrong side.

We have already considered how to knit a snood or a scarf collar in great detail in a recent article. Today we will continue the topic of knitting snoods with knitting needles with various patterns of braids and plaits. Such products are very fashionable and seem voluminous, so they are ideal for winter clothes instead of a headdress. For snoods with braids are better to choose soft and not at all prickly options for winter natural yarn. Such as merino, alpaca or mink down. You can choose a thread with a combined composition. The simplest is wool with acrylic, but today there are options for a very soft thread, which includes wool and silk, for example.

If you will knit a snood in length, then it is better to make a set with open loops, when connecting the seam will not be visible, according to the description in the link.

Description of knitting snood with braids

1r. - We knit all loops facial.
Starting from the second, all purl rows are knitted with purl loops.
3p.- We knit the loops in the following sequence: remove 5 loops not knitted on the auxiliary knitting needle, leaving it in front of the canvas, knit the next 5 knit, then knit the removed loops with the front ones, after which we make 10 facial loops and again remove 5 loops on the auxiliary knitting needle, leaving them at work, and after the next 5 are knitted with facial stitches, knit stitches from the auxiliary knitting needle.
The next two odd rows 5 and 7 are all knitted.
9 row - it is knitted in the following sequence: 5 loops of the pattern are knitted, 5 are removed on a secondary knitting needle and left behind the canvas, 5 are knitted again, the removed loops are knitted, then again we throw 5 loops on the auxiliary knitting needle, but leaving them before work, 5 next loops knit facial and 5 re-shot also facial, then 5 loops from the main knitting needles facial.
11 row - also knit facial.
Starting from row 13, knitting is repeated from the first row. Royal braid pattern: pattern
At first glance, it may seem that knitting braids with knitting needles is incredibly difficult, but in fact this is not at all the case, you just need to adapt a little to the specifics of creating this pattern and all its varieties and patterns with it will succumb the first time.

Pattern schemes:

Volumetric snood from braids from Vanessa Ewing

Snood from Vanessa Ewing is very decorative - voluminous, bright, with embossed braids. It is knitted from pure wool yarn and can serve as a spectacular detail of the image, as well as quite practical protection from the wind.

Its parameters are 20 cm wide and 90 cm in circumference.

The author recommends 3 skeins of Galway Roving (100g / 49m), wool yarn with a thick thread as a material. The knitting needles are appropriate, 10 mm in diameter, an additional knitting needle will be needed for braids. The braid pattern is described below, in the body of the general description. It is necessary to disassemble it at the very beginning of work and tie them a sample of 13 loops (pt). Should be 10 cm.

Description of knitting female snood in the form of braids

Snud is entirely performed with braids with lowered fri, straight rows (rp).

We carry out the initial set of 26 pt.

1st rp (IP - wrong side), installation: from pt - purl pt.

2nd rp (RS): 8 ltspt - facial pt; * 1 out; 8 lcpt *; repeat 1 more time *-*.

3rd rp: 8 out of pt; * 1 lcpt; 8 out of print *; repeat 1 more time *-*.

4th rp: as 2nd.

5th rp: as 3rd.

– we rent for additional / joint venture 4 pt at work; 4 lcpt; we knit with additional / cn 4 ltspt;

- * 1 izpt; we rent for additional / joint venture 4 pt at work; 4 lcpt; we knit with additional / cn 4 lcpt *;

- repeat 1 more time *-*.

7th rp: as 3rd.

8th rp: as 2nd.

9th rp: as 3rd.

Rows 2 to 9 make up our braid pattern.

We repeat it all the time, spending yarn. On the last skein, seeing that there are about 5 m left, we finish the work in the wrong side.

Next rp (BOS):

- * drop the next pt without knitting; we raise the broach, the topmost one, onto the left knitting needle and knit it like an lcpt; 8 lcpt *; repeat 1 more time *-*.

Next rp (IS): close all fri as izpt.

Carefully dissolve the rows with lowered Fri, to the very foundation. We connect a ring of braids with a seam - it turns out embossed volumetric snood.

Scarf-snood Silver spokes

Knitted snood in two turns, from a very soft yarn, which includes merino wool, bamboo and acrylic. The color is light gray, almost silver. It is very soft, very warm, very stylish and at the same time very simple - this is all about the Silver snood scarf.

  • yarn Alize Baby Wool (50 g / 175 m) No. 52 light gray - 200g,
  • needles number 4,
  • needle for stitching knitted products, scissors.

Scarf-snood width 25 cm, length 130 cm, closed in a ring. I deliberately included openwork "leaky" stripes in the knitting so that when you put on a scarf in two turns, there was an outlet, there was ventilation and air circulated so that there was no greenhouse effect.
The knitting pattern is very simple - at the edges of the garter stitch, 3 loops each, three braids of six loops, between the braids, one purl loop and openwork strips of four loops. Total = 3+3+6+6+6+2+2+2+4+4+4+4=46 stitches.
We collect the required number of loops, knitting in two threads, overlapping braids (in my case) every 8 loops.
We continue knitting to the required length, sew the end and the beginning of knitting, and, as always, WTO (wet-heat treatment), dry horizontally.
We are happy with the result :)
We warm not only beautifully, but also stylishly!

Snood knitting * Braid with shadow *

"Royal braid" was invented for several seasons ago. A collar using such a pattern turns out to be voluminous and warm.

The diagram shows the front and back loops. To make a weave, swap the loops. To do this, prepare an additional knitting needle.

Cast on the required number of loops.
from the 1st to the 5th row, knit as follows: 5 loops inside out, 8 loops in front stitch, 10 loops inside out and so on until the end of the rows.
Now start knitting braids according to the pattern: 5 loops inside out, leave 4 loops at work, knit 5 loops with the front surface, then knit the removed loops from the auxiliary knitting needle with the front surface.
Repeat 5 rows again, as from the 1st to the 5th row, and then again knit according to the pattern.
When knitted to the end, close the loops and sew the snood. The tube scarf can be knitted along and across. The main thing is to close it in a ring.

Snood * Millwater* Garter Stitch Harness:

Yarn: 5 skeins of Lang Yarns Merino+ Superwash 100% Merino, 90m/50g. Needle size 5.0.

Dial 54 sts on a waste thread (i.e. open set).
Row 1: Knit 10 sts in garter st (= knit only in knit loops), *k 2, purl 2**, repeat *...** 6 times, 20 garter sts viscous (note: chrome stitches are already included in the pattern, knit in each row with facial ones).
2nd p .: 20 sts in garter st, * 2 sts, 2 purl **, repeat *...** 6 times, 10 sts in garter st.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 6 times.
Next row with overlap: 10 sts in garter st, set aside 12 sts on the auxiliary needle for work, * 2 knit, 2 out. K2, purl 2**, repeat *...** 3 times, then work 20 sts in garter stitch.
Knit rows 1 and 2 11 times, then knit row 1 (i.e. 23 rows knitted in total), repeat the row with an overlap.
Repeat to desired length, then sew narrow edges together.

Knitting snood with voluminous braids - a master class for beginners

In this master class, we will learn how to knit snood with pearl knitting and with voluminous braids on the sides. Braids give it texture, it looks very rich and beautiful. This snood is for those who love bulky knitwear. The width of the finished product is 23 cm, the length is 155 cm. We will knit the scarf in turning rows, at the end we will connect it with a horizontal knitted seam, connecting the beginning to the end.

You can knit such a snood in 2 ways:

1. The first way - we knit a strip, as an ordinary scarf is knitted, then we sew its ends.
2. The second way - we knit snood with circular knitting needles - we get a knitted ring without a seam.

Snood with pearl knitting, we knit from woolen yarn. In 150 meters 100g of yarn. We knit with threads in two additions, respectively, the consumption is 75 meters per 100 grams. The consumption of yarn for such a snood is 560 grams.

We take knitting needles with a thickness of 8 mm, we also need an additional knitting needle to knit braids. With it we will knit braids, and also at the end we will connect snood, for this we need a needle with a large eye. We start with a set of loops on knitting needles, we collect 39 loops , including edge.

  1. First row snood

We remove the first loop - this is the edge loop. Next, we knit 12 facial loops. Next, we will continue to knit with pearl knitting, starting from the wrong loop. We will alternate the wrong side and the front. In this way, knit 13 loops. We knit the last loop from the wrong side, and we will have only 12 loops left, we knit them with facial ones. The last loop is hem, we knit it with a purl loop. We turn over the work.

  1. Second row snood

The second row, as well as all subsequent even rows, we will knit in the same way. We remove the edge loop, we knit 12 wrong ones, then pearl knitting begins - that is, we knit the next 13 loops alternating the wrong and front loops. In general, pearl knitting means that the purl is knitted over the front loop, and the front loop is knitted over the purl loop. Then 13 more loops remain, we knit all of them with purl, including the edge loop.
3. Third row.
In the third row we will do crossings. First, we remove the first loop, then we knit 4 facial ones. We take an additional knitting needle and transfer the next 4 loops to it, leaving the knitting needle before work.

And we knit the next 4 loops from the left knitting needle with facial loops. Returning to the stitches on the extra needle, you can transfer them to the left needle for convenience, or knit directly from the extra needle. We knit these loops with facial ones. Next, we knit the next 13 loops with pearl knitting, starting from the wrong side, alternating with the front. We finish with a purl loop. 12 facial loops should remain on the knitting needle. Now we knit 4 front, transfer 4 loops to the knitting needle and leave it before work.

.
A knitted scarf with knitting needles has been in trend for several years. What is a snood? This is a beautiful scarf in the shape of a ring. Snood is worn by girls, women, men and children, because snood is comfortable, fashionable and looks very impressive. Snoods and scarves are made from any material - from wool, silk. It goes with any look, and an incredible number of models and variations are actively used by designers and stylists.
A snood is a scarf knitted in the round and or sewn along the edges. Depending on the country, this scarf is called differently: collar, infinity, pipe, circular scarf. The shape of a knitted snood allows you to experiment - you can come up with different images, having the same scarf available.
Snood as an accessory appeared in the mid-80s. At that time, a headdress was fashionable - a pipe, it was both on the head and on the neck. This is how the snood scarf appeared, it is simple, comfortable and versatile. Such a scarf at any time of the year. Snood can be knitted independently using different patterns in knitting.

Knitting snood with knitting needles.

1. The first way - we knit a strip, as an ordinary scarf is knitted, then we sew its ends.
2. The second way - we knit snood with circular knitting needles - we get a knitted ring without a seam.
Before you start knitting snood, you need to choose the right yarn. It depends on the season, what things you will wear knitted snood with, and of course you need to choose a color palette. A jersey scarf looks nobler when knitted in restraining pastel colors. The quality of the yarn is of great importance - it must be natural and soft, because wearing a snood that pricks will be uncomfortable. Also, the yarn must be of high quality, and because it will be quite a shame to knit one and a half meters of fabric, which rolls up after the first wash.
How to knit a scarf? We can knit a circular scarf with different patterns - regular elastic, braids, English elastic, pearl knit, openwork knit ... Knitting a scarf for beginners tends to a pattern describing knitting a scarf-snood with garter stitch - this is the easiest option. A snood knitted in this way will not drape softly around the neck, but will look good due to the texture of the yarn.

For experienced needlewomen, knitting a scarf with braids, with ordinary non-circular knitting needles, is suitable. Braids have always been used in knitting scarves and snoods, it turns out the product is one-sided, but it still looks more beautiful than a scarf with a different pattern.
According to the standard, the braids are knitted on the wrong side, where the relief of the binding, knitted with facial loops, looms. The number of loops in braids can be different, it depends on the thickness of the threads and on the volume of the bundle.
Before you start knitting snood, knit a sample and calculate the number of loops for your work.

We advise you to dial the required number of loops on the knitting needles, knit one row of facial loops. Knit the next row, taking into account the placement of the braids. It is important to calculate the loops so that the braids are located symmetrically on the product field. The smooth surface is knitted with purl loops, the loops for weaving are facial, from the wrong side, knit as knitting looks: facial loops - facial, purl - purl.

4 row snood with braids
All subsequent even rows are knitted as the second row.

5 row snood
We repeat everything that we did in the first.

12 front, then we knit the next 13 loops with pearl knitting, starting from the wrong side. There are 12 loops at the end and one edge, we knit 12 front loops and a purl edge.

6 row snood
We knit like all even rows.

7 row snood

We knit the next 4 loops with facial ones, the loops from the additional knitting needle are also facial. And 4 facial loops after. Next, we knit 13 loops with pearl knitting. Then again we transfer 4 loops to an additional knitting needle as at the beginning of the row, leave the knitting needle at work, knit 4 facial ones. We knit loops from an additional knitting needle. Next, the remaining 4 front and 1 edge wrong side.

8 row snood knitting
We knit like all clear rows.
The rapport is over.

9 row
With this we start all over again. We knit a snood with a length of 32 reports.

You can knit snood with braids longer or shorter, as you like. When you reach the desired length, do not close the loop, as you need to connect the end of the snood with the beginning with a horizontal knitted seam.

We hope that the master class on knitting snood with braids from the Master of Needlework will inspire you to create a wonderful scarf with wide braids and pearl knitting. Knitted snood will complement your wardrobe and warm in cold weather.
