Knitting pearl elastic band scheme and description. How to knit a pearl pattern with knitting needles? Video: How to tie a hat with a pearl elastic band

Pearl ribbing, or semi-patent ribbing, is knitted on the basis of English ribbing. The front and back of this pattern look different. On the front side, the front loops turn out to be round, like pearls (hence the pearl gum), and on the wrong side - more elongated. To knit a pattern sample, an even number of loops are dialed.

1 row: * nakid, 1 loop to remove (thread at work), 1 facial *;

2 row : * purl 1 loop, 1 loop together with yarn over knit *.

Symbols for the knitting pattern

Knit in a knit row or purl in a purl row.

Knit two loops together with the front loop, picking up the loops from the front (behind the front wall).

nakid. The end of the right needle grabs the working thread from the bottom right to the left, towards you. Nakid is made to form openwork.

Remove the loop from the left to the right knitting needle. Working thread behind the needle (behind).

A pattern knitted with knitting needles by alternating front and back loops forming stripes is called an elastic band. Such a fabric is dense and elastic. A product made with a similar pattern holds its shape well. There are a lot of varieties of such a pattern: simple hollow, pearl. The implementation technology of the latter is discussed in this article.

Pearl gum with knitting needles (classic): pattern features and method of execution

This pattern belongs to the group of patent patterns. The structure of the canvas made by him, on the one hand, looks like an English elastic band, and on the other, like a pearl pattern. The "face" of the knitting can be any of the patterns.

How to knit a pearl gum with knitting needles, we read in the following description. We collect loops on the knitting needles.

Description of knitting pearl gum in a circle

When making seamless products in circular rows, the pattern design technology changes somewhat. And all because with this method of knitting there are no purl rows. Work is performed only on the front side of the product. The following instructions describe how to knit (pearl rib) in the round.

  • 1st row (auxiliary): alternating one knit and one purl loops.
  • 2nd row: the front loop is done front, nakid, purl is removed untied. So we make the pattern to the end of the row.
  • 3rd row: knit knit, purl with double crochet purl.

Applying a pattern

This pattern is used to decorate the sleeve cuffs, neckline, bottom edge of the product. It is also used in the creation of accessories such as hoods. It looks very nice in models of coats, sweaters, cardigans. The "pearl gum" pattern, knitted with knitting needles, can also be used to make blankets and rugs. Due to the density and volume of the fabric, the products are warm and cozy.

  1. If you plan to use this particular pattern to make cuffs or a neckline, then for knitting the main fabric, select a pattern with a suitable structure in terms of volume and density.
  2. The connected pattern "pearl" (a diagram and a photo confirms this) forms a corrugated fabric. Therefore, the product made by him will add several centimeters to you in volume. Consider this fact when doing work.
  3. Clothes knitted in such a pattern should not be hung up after washing, as the fabric may stretch. Dry the product should be laid out on a horizontal surface.

Hello dear knitting lovers!

Before you is a semi-patent gum with knitting needles, with which I promised to introduce you at the beginning of my investigation into the case, her “relatives” and “imposters” trying to take her place.

First, I will talk about it - the "half-breed", then the "relative" of the patent gum will follow, but the patent patterns will complete my investigation. So get ready: your mind must be clear, and your memory strong, otherwise you will get confused, how to drink!

Semi-patent (pearl) gum

I must say right away that a semi-patent elastic band is a one-sided elastic band, that is, it has both the front and the wrong side.

But these sides can still compete for the title of being called front, since both are very attractive: one is a copy of its “relative” - patent gum, only a little denser (photo attached).

The other is the daughter of her father, and he, apparently, was a very wealthy gentleman, it is not for nothing that this gum has a second name - PEARL GUM! Are you shocked? I also lived in it. What can I say - "half-breed" ...

Personally, I really liked this gum! So I am happy to share how to knit it. Cast on an EVEN number of stitches and knit:

  • in the 1st row - * 1 facial, 1 purl * - so to the end of the row;
  • in the 2nd row - * 1 facial, 1 yarn over, 1 remove * - so to the end of the row;
  • in the 3rd row - * we knit a loop with a crochet together front, 1 purl *;
  • then repeat the 2nd and 3rd rows.

If you want to link pearl gum in a circle, then we knit like this:

  • 1st circle - * 1 facial, 1 purl *;
  • 2nd circle - * 1 yarn over, 1 slip, purl 1 *;
  • 3rd circle - * we knit a loop with a crochet front, 1 purl *;
  • then repeat the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

I think it's not difficult. I knitted this elastic for my youngest daughter, she chose her "pearl" side.

During the investigation, I discovered a "relative" of the semi-patent (pearl) gum. Well, how could you get past it?

The “relative” of the semi-patent gum is the “young lady” is very pretty and very embossed, but ... only with one of its sides, it is better not to show the other.

And this one-sided elastic band is easy to knit. We collect the number of loops, a multiple of 3 and add 1 more loop. Next we knit:

  • in the 1st row - * 2 purl, 1 facial *, 2 purl;
  • in the 2nd row - * 2 facial, 1 yarn over, 1 remove *, 2 facial;
  • in the 3rd row - * purl 2, we knit the front loop with a crochet *, purl 2;
  • repeat the 2nd and 3rd row.

Accelerated I was to write in large letters the title FALSE PATENT GUM, in order to bring to light, first one, and then another "imposter", as promised, but decided to first tie their samples. And what do you think???

One of the so-called false rubber bands turned out to be ... , a description of which can be found by clicking on its name.

And today we will repeat what we have done by knitting the honeycomb patent pattern with knitting needles on an EVEN number of loops. So, we collect loops and knit:

  • in the 1st row - * 1 front, 1 yarn, 1 remove *;
  • in the 2nd row - * knit a loop with a crochet front, 1 yarn over, 1 remove *;
  • in the 3rd row - 1 front, * we transfer the yarn from the left knitting needle to the right, without knitting, 2 front *, we transfer the yarn, 1 front;
  • in the 4th row - * 1 crochet, 1 remove, we knit the front loop with a crochet *;
  • in the 5th row - * 2 facial, reshoot the yarn *;
  • in the 6th row - repeat the pattern from the 2nd row.

The canvas of the pattern will turn out to be plump, voluminous, as if double, so it's a good idea to use this pattern for knitting winter hats, especially for children. And it is better to knit with thick yarn, then the pattern will look more textured and embossed.

Pattern "Chess with a patent rubber band"

This is a very nice embossed patent pattern, consisting of alternating patches of patent ribbing and garter stitch. I don’t know how it will look when knitting with thin threads, but it looks great on thick ones!

To knit a pattern sample, we collect a multiple of 10 number of loops plus 2 edge loops (for example, 22 loops) and then knit according to the pattern below.

Pattern scheme

plus - edge loop;

black square - front loop;

minus - purl loop;

black circle - we knit a loop together with a crochet front;

crossed out square 1 yarn over and slip 1 loop;

repeat the pattern from the 3rd to the 22nd rows.

Pattern "Unusual patent gum"

An unusual patent gum is unusual in that ... but by the way, you yourself will learn everything from the description, I can only say that this gum is one-sided.

To knit a sample of this patent pattern, you need to cast on the number of loops, a multiple of 4 plus 3 loops (23). Next we knit:

  • in the 1st (purl) row -*1 yarn over, 1 slip, knit 1*, 1 yarn over, 1 slip;
  • in the 2nd (front) row -* we knit a loop with a crochet front, 1 purl, we knit a loop with a crochet, 1 purl *, we knit the front loop with a crochet;
  • then repeat the 1st and 2nd row.

Patent patterns in the form of twigs and various weaves, I will publish a little later. If you are interested, subscribe to receive new articles from my blog and then you will not miss anything.

I didn’t even doubt what musical gift to choose for you for this jokingly serious article: of course "Half-breed" by Alexander Vertinsky in his performance! Listen and enjoy!

I didn’t even doubt what musical gift to choose for you for this jokingly serious article: of course "Half-breed" by Alexander Vertinsky in his performance! Listen and enjoy!

Friends, not so long ago we met with an interesting patent pattern - a knitted elastic band called. And in one of the comments to that article it was written that this pattern is nothing more than pearl gum with knitting needles. I was interested in this statement, because now there is such a confusion with the names ... In short, I decided to think and look for information on this topic. So what does pearl gum actually look like?

Let's think logically, from the name ...

Pearl Gum…

and we know that it exists in knitting - the pattern is very simple in execution and spectacular in appearance.

Based on this conclusion, I was looking for a knitting pattern for a pattern called pearl gum with knitting needles.

And, as you know, whoever seeks will always find!

And I found not one version of the pattern under this name, but several, and I think that this is not the limit ...

So, the first circuit found looks like this: All we need to knit this pattern is the ability to knit and. And the great thing is that knitting a pearl rib with knitting needles is even easier than a pearl pattern. Although, I thought, it’s much easier, but there is where, it turns out ...

Pearl gum with knitting needles No. 1 (based on the pattern of the same name - knitting description)

The repeat of the pattern is two loops plus one loop for symmetry.

For the sample, type on the spokes any odd number of loops.

1 Row - chrome., * front loop, wrong side *, ** repeat to the end of the row

2 row - all front loops

Next, repeat rows 1 and 2 - that's the whole pearl gum with knitting needles!
Of course, this is not gum at all. The pattern does not spring, but stretches, like all knitted patterns.

But, nevertheless, although technically it is not an elastic band, it deserves our attention.

The pattern may well be used as the main one for any product, or in combination with other patterns, for example, with and with the same pearl pattern, which is popularly called a tangle. (in the photo below, the hem is connected with a pearl pattern, the bodice is with a simple elastic band, and the sleeves are pearl After I knitted the sample according to the above diagram and description, I had a question, what if I try to knit the same sample, but do all the even rows in it with purl and not facial loops? Those.:

1 row - chrome., * front loop, wrong side *, ** repeat to the end of the row

2nd row - purl all loops

And here is the result of my experiment - it turns out that the pattern is exactly the same in appearance as in the first case, only, as you know, knit the wrong loops longer than the front loops, so you should not complicate your life once again.

I don’t know about you, my dear readers, but I really love this kind of experiments. It's interesting, and sometimes it's even useful)))

Pattern rapport - (5) + 2 + 2, i.e. the number must be divisible by 5 plus 2 and plus 2 edge

Let's try to knit on 24 loops

Row 1 – chrome, *purl 2, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1*,** repeat to end of row. At the end of 2 purl, chrome

2 row - chrome., 2 facial, * purl 3, 2 facial *, ** to the end of the row

Then we alternate the first and second row. This and subsequent pearl patterns are already nothing, but elastic bands ... in my understanding)))

Pattern repeat - (5) + 2 + 2

1 row - chrome., * 3 facial, purl, facial *, repeat to the end of the row. On the last loops - 2 front, edge

2 row - chrome., 2 purl, * 1 person., 1 purl., 1 person., 2 purl. *, ** to the end of the row, edge

Pattern repeat - (6) + 4 + 2

1 row - chrome., * 5 out., 1 person. *, ** to the end of the row. On the last loops - 4 purl and edge

2 row - chrome., 4 persons, * 1 person., 1 out., 4 persons. *, ** to the end of the row

Repeat the first and second row

And the last pattern for today

Pearl rib knitting No. 5

This pattern differs from the previous ones in that it is patent (pressed), otherwise ... all the same front and back ... nothing complicated)))

Rapport - an odd number of loops

1 row - chrome, * out., persons, *, ** to the end of the row (regular elastic band)
