• Thick needles for yarn or sewing thread and a thin needle;
• A little white and black wool for the eyes, nose and mouth (can be replaced with yarn);
• Sintepon or any other suitable filler;
• A piece of bright fabric for the knot.

Of course, the hedgehog does not have to be gray, you can use brown or beige threads. And perhaps he will be colorful? It all depends on your imagination, available materials and desires.

Manufacturing procedure

Diagram and description of a do-it-yourself hedgehog:

1. First knit the muzzle crochet No. 2.5, starting with the spout. The yarn used is gray (main) and black. Total rows - 17. Start with 2 air loops or amigurumi rings. “The hedgehog must be prickly!”, you say. But that's not the case at all. Why not make a small soft doll of a curly hedgehog with your own hands?

Tools and materials

To make a curly hedgehog, you need to prepare necessary materials and tools:

• Yarn in 2 colors: neutral (light or dark gray) and colored (for example, brown melange, as in the photo).
• Hook according to the thickness of the yarn.
• Plastic eyes for soft toys. If there are none, beads or even small round buttons will do.
• Filler.
• Needle and sewing thread.
• Optional accessories (such as an apple or colored yarn on a scarf).

Instructions for creating

The first step is to create a muzzle. 1 row - 6 columns, amigurumi ring. From the second to the eighth - an increase of 3 through one row. From 9 to 15 - an increase of 6. Then 2-3 rows are knitted without changes and reduced by 6 columns until the hole is completely closed.

The next detail is the body. Start with 6 sts as well, increase 6 sts per row until there are 42 sts per row. Then knit 6 rows of 42 and another 7 with a decrease of 6 through one. Fasten the thread and fill the body with filler.

It remains to make the hedgehog's paws. For the upper paws, knit all 12 rows, for the lower ones - only 10. It is better not to stuff the latter, but leave them hollow, making ties where the fingers should be. They knit as follows - sc: 6-12-15-15-15-12-12-12-12-9-9-9. Pull the hole, fasten the ends of the threads, lightly fill the parts with foam rubber.

Then they make needles for a cute toy hedgehog. They need to be knitted separately with long (or elongated) loops of yarn of the second color (melange). Start 1 row with 6 single crochets, and then knit elongated loops with an increase: 12-18-24-30-36-42-42-42-42. The “hat” of needles is completed next to 36 loops. This hedgehog I decided to tie from the remains wool yarn. For the body, head and legs, the yarn "Derevenka" was used. To be honest, there were doubts whether I did the right thing by starting to knit with yarn that is more suitable for knitting socks than for toys. But the hedgehog turned out to be very warm, heavy (even without using a weighting agent), as if alive. In addition, this knitted hedgehog turned out in the style of vintage toys, which are so popular lately.

For knitting a hat, it is better to use a fairly voluminous melange (sectional) yarn. I didn’t have this at the time of knitting, so I knitted in two threads: 1 - voluminous brown, 2 - sectional thin. I used hook number 3.

Starting from the second row, we will knit with long (elongated) loops. Consider the process of knitting such a loop. We introduce the hook into the first loop of the row, we wind up behind the working thread with right side. We grab the thread that descends from the finger, stretch it through the loop of the row. There are two loops on the hook. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops. We remove the loop from the finger. Long loops knitted in this way will be located on the wrong side.

2 row: we knit 2 long loops in each loop of the previous row, i.e. make additions (12).

Back knitting.

We also knit the back with long (elongated) loops. We knit 6 rows according to the scheme, then we knit in a circle without increments. We knit another 5-6 rows, in the last row you can knit a few decreases.

Assembling a toy.

• Sew the cap to the hedgehog's head.
• Sew the head to the body.
• We sew a "fur coat" to the back of the hedgehog.

The scarf is knitted in stockinette stitch on knitting needles, changing the color of the yarn every two rows. The nose and eyes can be tinted with dry pastels or eye shadow.
