Completing of the work

Back

On knitting needles No. 6, dial 81 (87) 93 p. And for the lower strap, knit with a curly elastic band:

1st row (= out. row): 1 person., * 1 out., 1 person. *, repeat from * to * until the end of the row. Row 2: Knit all stitches.

In height, repeat these 2 p.

After 9 cm, knit with a curly elastic band to finish the faces. side by side (on the front).

Continue the work with a relief pattern:

1st row (= out. row): 3 persons., * 3 out., 3 persons. *, repeat from * to * until the end of the row.

Row 2: Knit all stitches.

When the length of the back is 78 (79) 80 cm, close the middle 17 points for the neckline and finish both sides separately.

To round the neck, close from the inner edge at the beginning of the next 2 p. 3, 2 p.

At the same time, from the outer edge, close for the shoulder bevel at the beginning of each row, 9, 9, 9 (10, 10, 10) 11, 11, 11 p.

Before (shorter than the back!)

Knit like a back until the length of the part is 58 (59) 60 cm. Then close the middle 9 sts for the neck and finish both sides separately.

To round the neck, close from the inner edge at the beginning of each row for 3, 2, 2, 1, 1 p.

When piece measures 66 (67) 68 cm cast off shoulder bevel sts as described for back.

Assembly

Sew the details on the front side with mattress and knitted seams = mattress - longitudinal edges of the parts (= 1 p. x 1 p.), Knitted seam - edges with closed loops.

Run the shoulder seams (the seam should not stretch!)

armhole slats
On both sides of the shoulder seam, measure down 26 (27) 28 cm and attach markers. Between the markers, dial from the front side of the product on knitting needles No. 5 along the edge of the armhole of the loop: 1 st from each row, skipping every 6th p. (the number of loops is odd). Knit with an elastic band = alternately 1 person., 1 out. When the width of the bar is approximately 3 cm, close the loops.

Assembly (continued)

Run the side seams, including armhole trims, while leaving the lower edges of the front 12 cm long for cuts. Fold the armhole strips in half, turn to the wrong side and sew.
Strapping cuts
On knitting needles No. 3.5, dial on the front side of the product along each edge of the cut (separately) loops = 1 p. From each row, knit the next out. knit a row and close the loops with knit ones.

Place the front edge of the incision on the back edge for a width of 1 p. And sew at the top (from the front and back sides).

Collar
On circular knitting needles No. 5, dial 114 sts along the edge of the neckline on the front side of the product and knit in a circle with an elastic band = alternately 3 persons., 3 out. After 6 cm, switch to circular needles No. 6 and continue knitting with the same pattern. When the length of the collar is approximately 30 cm, close the loops freely according to the pattern.

Knitting a sleeveless jacket with knitting needles is quite simple. And for this you do not need to be a super knitter, even a novice craftswoman will cope with this simple task. The main thing is to be patient, desire and have a little inspiration. And for the rest, the schemes that you can find on our website will help you. But how to knit the simplest sleeveless jacket for a beginner knitter so that it turns out beautiful and inspires you to new masterpieces? Everything is very simple, you just need to follow the advice of our master class.

Master class on knitting a sleeveless jacket with knitting needles

How to start knitting a sleeveless jacket with knitting needles? From drawing up a pattern according to your size. To do this, you need to take the following measurements from yourself: chest circumference, waist circumference, hip circumference, neck circumference and armhole depth. However, in our advanced age, all these measures can simply be omitted. It is enough to go online and find a sleeveless jacket pattern according to your size or the size of the person you are knitting the product for.

In addition, you can find patterns of interesting models in knitting magazines. It contains current models and patterns with the calculation of loops for each model.

  • Now you need to decide on the pattern with which you will knit a sleeveless jacket with knitting needles. For a beginner craftswoman, it is worth choosing the simplest pattern. By the way, on our website you will find many patterns that are perfect for a vest.
  • Particular attention should be paid to the choice of yarn. So, for children, you should choose yarn such as children's acrylic or cotton. But for warmer models, merino wool is perfect.
  • The next step will be the selection of knitting needles and knitting a pattern. The yarn usually indicates the number of knitting needles that are required for knitting. But we advise you to select them based on the characteristics of your knitting. A sample of 10 * 10 cm will help determine the number of knitting needles that you need, and also tell you exactly how many loops you need to dial for your sleeveless jacket.

Sequence of work

So, let's start knitting the back. Cast on the required number of stitches and start knitting. By the way, the elastic can be 2 * 2 - two facial, two purl, and 1 * 1 - one facial, one purl, as you like. Tie the height of the elastic according to the pattern and proceed to the transition to the main knitting pattern.

Here you have to perform several difficult tasks at once: switch to larger needles (about one number more than those with which you knitted an elastic band), knit a pattern and add loops.

The addition should occur evenly throughout the row. You can calculate the additions based on how many loops the pattern includes (in other words, rapport).

The pattern is knitted to the desired height of the product to the armholes. And here you will need to master the reduction of loops for armholes.
The loops here are not reduced all at once, but gradually. This will give you a smooth line. Smooth line provides a good fit on the figure - without creases and tightening. In addition, a smooth line is convenient in stitching elements together. In order to get a similar effect, you should first decrease 4-6 loops, which will become the base of the armhole, and then, in every second row, you will decrease one loop on each side.

At the desired height of the back, we finish knitting. Now you should tie in front. The principle of operation is the same as that of the back. But it has its own nuances and difficulties. And the main difficulty is knitting the neck. But we can help you deal with that too. So, tie the front of the tank top to the armholes. Now make the same decrease as on the armholes of the back. Try to do it symmetrically. This is necessary for stitching the details of the entire product. But having reached the middle of the product, you need to knit the beginning of the neck. To do this, you need to knit three middle loops together according to the figure.

The product should be turned over and knit a row without decreasing. In the next row, you will need to decrease the loops of the armhole and at the end of the row the loop of the neck, knitting the first two and last two loops together. Similarly, you need to knit to the desired height in front of the sleeveless jacket.

Close the loops and proceed to the second half of the front of the vest. Here everything is done in the same way as on the right half of the vest, only in a mirror image. That is, first you make a reduction for the neck, and at the end of the row for the armhole. Thus, you need to knit to the desired height and close the loops.

End of work

Well, the product is connected. Now you need to sew the halves together. First you need to perform the shoulder seams, and only then the side seams. And you can start tying armholes and necks. To do this, you should dial the loops, but not the edge ones, but those that went to the row before the edge ones. So the bar will turn out more accurate.

Make sure that the number of loops in the front and back of the armholes is the same.

Knitted sleeveless jacket with braids

And tie the entire armhole with an elastic band one on one. Tie the second armhole in the same way. And it remains to tie the neck. We collect loops in the same way as on the armholes and knit with an elastic band 1 * 1.

Having reached the end of the row, when one loop remains on the knitting needle, lift the broach between the loops and, twisting it, put it on the knitting needle. Knit three stitches together: the last one on this needle, the one you picked up from the broach and the first stitch of the new row. . In this way, you will knit each row to the desired armhole height. Close all loops. As you can see, if you try, even beginners can cope with knitting a sleeveless jacket.

Observe the density of knitting!
Reduce in the next front row 1 loop on each side of the marks, repeat the decrease every 4 cm - 6 times.
At the same time, at a height of 20 cm, make holes for the button on the right shelf, as described above.
At the same time, at a height of 21 cm, add a trace for the collar from the wrong side of the loop. way: 2 knit., yarn over, 1 knit., yarn over, knit as indicated until the last 3 loops, yarn over, 1 knit., yarn over, 2 knit. (added 2 loops on each side)
Repeat such increases in every 4th row (i.e. knit 3 rows without increases, and then a row with increases) - a total of 10 times, knit new loops with a garter pattern (you added 20 loops on each side).
Now the part will be approximately 31 cm long.
Track. Row (WS): Work in Chart 1, work in garter st until last 14 sts, work in Chart 2, AT THE SAME TIME inc 1 st again on each side of the collar (see collar increase tip).
Repeat increases every 4th row - 8-8-10-10-12-12 times.
SIMULTANEOUSLY, at a height of 32-33-34-35-36-37 cm, divide the fronts and back according to the marks and finish each part separately.

Knit short rows, starting from purl. Sides as follows: *Knit Chart 1 + 8-8-9-9-10-10 garter sts, turn, finish RS row in patt, work in patt on all sts, turn to end of row, finish RS row in pattern, repeat from *.
When the piece measures 7-7-8-8-8-8 cm from the shoulders (measuring the short side), bind off the loops.

Right shelf: knit symmetrically with the left.

Assembly: sew the shoulders and seams of the sleeves, sew the collar in the center of the back piece and sew it to the neck of the back, sew on the button.

Knitted vest scheme and pattern

Vests are a common part of men's, women's and children's clothing. This is not surprising, because the vest will help not only keep warm, but also diversify the wardrobe. Vests are versatile in wearing: they can be worn with a dress, trousers, short or long skirts, leggings, etc. And the variety of their types is amazing: plain and multi-colored, made of thin or thick yarn, lace and openwork, short and elongated, with outer, inner or without pockets, etc.

If you have never knitted on knitting needles before, then you need to master the basic basics: a set of loops, knitting front, back and edge loops, how to close the loops or increase their number in the process.

This is where online tutorial videos can come in handy.

Before starting work, try to knit a pattern that will be present on the product. This will help you see how it will look on the finished product and avoid possible mistakes.

How to make a vest pattern?

The pattern for a knitted product is slightly different from the one sewn due to the elasticity of the knitted fabric. That is why for their manufacture it is not necessary to observe great accuracy. Making a pattern is not difficult even for a beginner needlewoman.

There are two ways to make a pattern for a vest:

  • By tracing an already existing vest and further fitting the pattern to the desired product, i.e. changing the shape of the neck, the length and width of the future vest. But using this method, you can make a mistake with the measurements "by eye" and in the future you risk getting the wrong result that you expected.
  • Making patterns by taking measurements. To do this, we measure the chest girth (OG), neck circumference (OSh), product length (CI), back width. In the course of work, you will need: a pencil, an elastic band, a ruler, pattern paper.

Below is an algorithm for constructing a pattern for the following parameters: OG = 96 cm, OR = 36 cm, CI = 56 cm, back width = 34 cm.
1. On paper, build a rectangle whose height = CI and length = OG.
2. Draw a vertical line in the center.

3. Now calculate the depth of the armhole, for this we subtract the width of the back from 1/2 girth (OG), and divide the result by two. For example ((OG 96:2) - back width 34): 2 = 7 cm.
4. Calculate the armhole height: OG: 6 + 5. For example, OG 96: 6 + 5 = 21 cm.

5. Draw the results on paper. Connect the armhole cutout with a rounded line.

6. To build the neckline, divide the neck circumference by three. This will be the width of the neck on the back of the product. Example: OSH 36: 3 = 12 cm. Accordingly, from the middle of the rectangle on each side, measure 1/2 of the result, for example, 12: 2 = 6 cm.
7. Raise the neckline by 2 cm and connect with the shoulder in a straight line. Connect the neckline with a rounded line through the upper part of the rectangle.

Everything, the pattern of the back of the future product is ready. Now make a pattern for the front shelves of the vest. To do this, you need to repeat all the steps, with the exception of drawing the neck.
8. To calculate the depth of the neck on the front shelf, you need OSH: 6 + 2. For example, OSH 36: 6 + 2 = 8 cm.

9. Put the resulting number of centimeters down from the neckline and connect with a rounded line to the central line of the pattern.

The pattern of your future vest is ready. If you plan to bind the neck and armholes with an elastic band, then increase their depth on the pattern by the height of the elastic band.

How to choose yarn and knitting needles?

Yarn and knitting needles should be selected based on the recommendations for the selected model. If you want to buy yarn of a different type than indicated in the instructions, and doubt the choice, you can seek advice from a consultant in the store. As a rule, sellers are often fond of knitting themselves and can provide qualified assistance.

Yarn selection instructions often include numbers, such as 100 g / 150 m. This indicates the ratio of the weight to the length of the yarn, that is, so many grams include so many meters. The fewer meters of yarn indicated on the package, the thicker it is.
When selecting knitting needles, the basic rule applies: they are selected 1 mm thicker than the yarn. But there are some features:
- If you are going to knit a vest from thick yarn, then choose knitting needles 1.5-2 mm thicker than the thread so that the fabric is elastic and not rough.

  • For downy yarn like mohair or angora, choose needles 2-3 mm larger, then the finished product will become airy and fluffy.
  • For yarn called "grass" knitting needles numbered 5 or 6 are well suited.
  • For tying the bottom of the product, armhole or neckline, choose knitting needles a size smaller than those that will be used for the main work. This will prevent the finished product from deforming when washed and worn.
  • If you chose a braid pattern, then take the knitting needles half a size larger than the recommended one, if the pattern is supposed to be openwork, then take a half size smaller.

Before buying in the store, be sure to knit 6-7 rows of 10 loops with the selected knitting needles and yarn to see how it will look in the finished product. Please note that for beginners, the knitting density is stronger, so you can choose knitting needles one size larger. In the future, when knitting, continue to observe the density. If the canvas is very tight, then the finished vest will look rough. If, on the contrary, the thread tension is too weak, then the thing will quickly lose its shape and stretch. The ideal density is when the loops move freely along the knitting needle, but do not slip out of it.

Choose a model

First you need to choose a model that you will knit. Samples and detailed instructions can be found in special magazines or on the Internet. With the improvement of skill, you yourself will be able to develop models and patterns.

From a variety of options, you have to choose what your future vest will be like: short or long, with a turn-down collar or with a cutout, with or without pockets, etc.
When choosing, you should take into account experience in needlework: if you are just starting to knit, then choose models that are easy to perform, i.e. having a simple pattern and cut.

How to tie the back: a detailed description

Now you have already decided on the model, chosen knitting needles and yarn. It's time to get to work!

Usually the manufacture of vests, cardigans, dresses, blouses, etc. start by knitting the back.

1.Dial the required number of loops and knit 4 cm with an elastic band 2 persons. x 2 out.
2. After that, start knitting the back with the front stitch or the selected pattern in accordance with the pattern. If the pattern is very voluminous, then several loops should be knitted along the edges of the work, so that in the future, when assembling, the seam does not look rough.
3. The vest can be rectangular or fitted. To get a waist on the back, you need to evenly decrease, and then add the required number of loops on each side in every 4 rows, referring to the pattern. To reduce the number of loops, you need to knit two adjacent loops together after a certain interval. If you need to increase the number of loops, then divide the yarn in the loop in half into component threads and first knit a loop from the first half, and then from the second. So you get two loops from one.
4. Having connected the desired length of the product, start making armholes. To do this, in every second row, shorten the loops on both sides to keep the line smooth. Knit the rest straight.
5. The back of the vest can be made without beveling the shoulders and neck, simply by closing all the loops at the desired height of the product. But if you want the vest to sit more aesthetically on the figure, you will have to knit the neck and shoulders.

How to tie shelves

In order for the work to be uniform in knitting density and bends, it is recommended to knit both shelves at the same time, using one pair of knitting needles and two skeins of yarn.

The algorithm of work is identical to the order of knitting the back, with the exception of some nuances:

- If the vest is supposed to be worn with a belt or with hook-and-loop fasteners, then for each shelf you need to dial half of the total number of loops on the back.
- If the vest will be fastened with buttons, then you need to take into account the strips, which are equal to 3 cm (about 8 loops) and are located on each shelf. Since the planks lie on top of each other during wear, the number of loops of each plank can be reduced by 4 loops. Thus, to tie each shelf, you need to dial half the loops of the back, minus 4 loops. For example, if you had 160 loops on your back, then to knit each shelf you need to dial 76 loops (160: 2 -4 = 76).
Further, the shelves are knitted similarly to the back to the level of the neck.

How to cut a neck, in detail?

The neckline on the back and the bevels of the shoulders are usually knitted at the same time.

To designate the future cutout and the number of loops in it, you need to attach the work to the pattern and compare it with it. It is important to consider that if the finished product has an elastic band, then the cutout depth must be increased by 1-2 cm.
Next, decrease the work at the beginning, middle and end by 6 loops. In the next, purl, row, knit the shoulder to the neckline, then take another thread from another skein of yarn, thread into the first loop following the neckline and tie in a knot. Now you have two jobs with separate threads. For uniform knitting and for convenience, you can work simultaneously with two fabrics on the same knitting needles.
In the next, front, row, close two loops on each canvas from each edge. After another row, bind off one loop on each side on both parts of the work. Check with the pattern. If the length of the product is reached, then all loops can be closed.
Some knitters work with the shoulders alternately: for this, they fix the loops of the fabric left without a thread on a separate knitting needle or in a special pin. After they finish one side of the back, they return to the one left earlier, fasten the thread and finish the rest. You can use any method of your choice.
When knitting the neckline on the front shelves, you need to take into account its shape: the neckline can be V-shaped or U-shaped, wide or narrow, deep or not. Again, you need to take into account the strapping, if any. To count the number of loops for closing, attach the work to the pattern. If the edges of the neckline are flat, then the loops will need to be closed in every second row. In other cases, the number of rows may vary. The bevels of the shoulders on the shelves are made in the same way as on the back.

Assembling a vest, how to sew vest shelves?

Before you start assembling the product, you need to steam all the parts through gauze, carefully, without pulling them out. Then alternately attach each shelf to the back with the front sides, combining the armholes, shoulders, and side seams. Assembly seams are made only on the wrong side of the product.
There are two ways to connect the parts together:
1. When using the hook. To do this, we make a loop on the thread, thread a hook into it and then, in small steps, knit the edge loops of the parts together.
2. With the help of a thread and a needle. We move along the canvas and sew the edges of the product, introducing a needle perpendicular to it.

How to tie the armhole and neck?

After assembling the product, the raw armholes and neck look untidy, the vest looks unfinished. To remedy the situation, the edges of the work need to be tied. There are many ways to tie the armhole and neck with knitting needles or a crochet hook. But at first, it is better for a beginner knitter to master simple strapping methods, for example, with a 1 x 1 elastic band.

To do this, you will need a thick needle, like a gypsy, circular needles and yarn.

1.Using a needle, pull out a few loops from the upper edge of the neckline and throw them on the knitting needle. You need to pull out not the edge loops, but those that are located a row below. Thus, collect on the knitting needle all the loops along the neck.
2. Tie the yarn from the skein to the loop next to the gathering seam.
3. Start knitting with an elastic band for 1 persons. x 1 out. Knit 2-3 cm in this way and close all loops. Hide the thread from the inside of the product.
4. In the same way, process the armholes of the vest.

The advantage of an elastic band is its elasticity, due to which it repeats the bends of the product.
Everything, your new thing is ready!

Long women's vest

During the off-season on cold evenings, an elongated women's vest will be very relevant. Such clothes will not only warm, but also visually stretch the silhouette and hide figure flaws, for example, full hips. For summer, openwork elongated vests made of fine yarn are suitable. With the example below of an unusual long vest with a belt and a turn-down collar with a zipper, both an experienced knitter and a beginner needlewoman can handle it.
