Crochet belt: diagram and description of an accessory on a dress with photos and videos. Crochet belt: diagram and description, as well as a step-by-step master class with photos and videos Crochet lace belt for a dress

Knitting belts is one of the most popular activities among craftswomen who own a hook. The use of various techniques allows you to create rigid and dense accessories with a long service life.

This article offers interesting crochet belts with diagrams and descriptions, some of them perform an exclusively decorative function, others can successfully replace a regular belt.

What yarn is suitable for making a belt

When choosing a material, one should be guided by the purpose of the future product. Below you can see different crochet belts, diagrams and descriptions, photos and even a master class. At the same time, the appearance and scope of each of these items are completely different.

Narrow lace belts, as well as openwork belts, are often used to decorate wide tunics or dresses. For these products, you can safely use absolutely any yarn. The main thing is that in color and texture it matches the rest of the wardrobe.

Various types of cotton, linen, viscose, wool, microfiber, polyamide and even acrylic will be appropriate here. True, you should be more careful with acrylic, since many products made from this material look frankly cheap. To make a wide and dense crochet belt, the diagram and description of which include some kind of solid pattern, you will need a hard cotton or linen thread. Sometimes a decent appearance can be achieved using polyamide or microfiber, but in this case the knitting must be very tight.

Narrow crochet belt: diagram and description

The photo below shows the sequence of making the simplest belt. You will need a little material, about 10 grams. The thread should be quite thick, at least 200 m / 100 grams.

Even with minimal knitting skills, you can crochet such a belt. The scheme and description of the product are extremely simple: Link a chain of four air loops (VP). In the second loop, knit 5 single crochet (StBN). In the last loop, work 1 stbn. Turn the fabric and knit one lifting loop. In the second stbn, knit 5 stbn, then in the 3rd stbn perform another stbn. Turn the work and repeat the sequence described in the 4th and 5th points. The cord of the desired length is supplied with ties - and that's it, the product is ready! In fact, this is the most primitive and elementary ribbon lace. All other patterns are designed on the same principle, but contain a much larger number of rows. Ties can be just threads, chains of stitches, or even decorative ribbons. To make them heavier, it is recommended to sew beads on the ends.

Openwork belt from crochet motifs: diagrams and description

This model has been consistently popular for a very long time. For its manufacture, several identical or different fragments are knitted, which are then connected into a ribbon. Surely every knitter has a favorite round or square piece that she can literally do with her eyes closed, it is quite suitable for such a product as a crochet belt. The scheme and description of one of the motives are presented below.

First you need to knit a chain of 6 VPs and close it into a ring, then perform the following steps: 4 VP, a fluffy column of 3 double crochets (StN), 5 VP, * a fluffy column of 4 StN, 5 VP *. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row. * 5 VP, 3 StN with a common top, pico of 3 VP, 3 StN with a common top, 5 VP, StBN *. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row. The resulting flower has six vertices, which is very convenient for making an even belt (two vertices on each side are connected to the second flower, two remain on top and bottom). Such belts are needed to emphasize the waist.

A good example of a simple flower. Being knitted from very thick yarn, it will be a great embellishment for many dresses. If the product is planned to be worn on the hips, then it is advisable to choose pentagonal motifs.

They need to be connected so that the belt gets a semicircular shape.

Tight belt for jeans

The next variety of knitted belts is designed to perform a practical function: they are tucked into the loops of trousers and skirts.

Of course, the canvas of such products must be very rigid, otherwise it will stretch and there will be no point in it. As mentioned above, cotton, linen, polyamide and wool can be considered optimal. The thickness of the thread is at least 180-200 m / 100 grams, the knitting is very tight. To achieve sufficient density, you can use a smaller hook than the one recommended for the selected yarn (for example, not No. 4.5, but No. 3).

Secrets of tight knitting

The pattern can be simple single crochets or the most elementary ornaments. If the selected thread is not stiff enough, you can apply the following technique:

  1. Knit a row of stbn.
  2. Turn the fabric and work another row, tying the newly formed StBN. That is, each of them will be double.
  3. Repeat the algorithm outlined in steps 1 and 2. This method is also good for making cap visors, hat brim and stand-up collars.

Knitted belts. A knitted belt is a great exclusive accessory for your everyday outfits. There are many ways to knit belts due to which they are: thin, thick, dense, openwork, with ties, with a buckle, etc. You will read about some methods of knitting belts in this article.

The belt is round, knitted with hosiery.

On the circular knitting needles we collect loops along the length of the belt, knit a strip 2-3 cm wide in stocking stitch and close the loops. If the width of the strip is smaller than the length, then such a strip, knitted in stocking stitch, tends to twist across the wrong side outward, forming a round belt. The edges of the cast on and closed loops along the folded cord are sewn by hand.

Ribbed waistband

Such a belt can be long, tied at the side or fastened with a buckle. The length of the latter is equal to the circumference of the waist plus 10-12 cm. The width of the belt is arbitrary. We collect loops along the width of the belt and knit a strip of the desired length. A tube is formed along the entire length of the belt, which we iron through a damp cloth. If desired, the ends can be decorated with small tassels or fringes.

Lined waistband with buckle fastening.

Rice. 5. Belt with one-sided acute angle, which fastens with a buckle.

In the pattern of the belt, the length of which is equal to the circumference of the waist plus 10-12 cm, and the width is arbitrary, we mark the holes for the design of the fastener (Fig. 5). A belt that fastens with a buckle is knitted in stocking stitch, elastic bands or other patterns with a small pattern. The width of the belt is 2.5-3 cm. We start knitting from the departure edge, which in this example we knit with a one-sided acute angle.

Cast on three loops (A). We knit the belt evenly along the AB line, and to obtain a one-sided acute angle at the beginning of each front row, after the last loop, we add one loop with a purl yarn (see Fig. 5, b). We expand the angle until we reach the desired belt width (BV). Knitting the length of the belt according to the pattern, we divide all the loops in the row in half and in the middle of the row we make small round holes (yarn, 2 loops together). At the other end of the loop, we close exactly (GD). We sew the finished belt onto a solid lining on a sewing machine, and if the belt is knitted with double stocking stitch, then we insert a solid gasket inside and sew it around, and punch the caps into the round holes and sew the buckle.

Drawstring waistband

We choose the width of the belt as desired, and the length is equal to the circumference of the waist (if the belt is joined end-to-end) or less by 2-3 cm. In such a belt, we make out both ends in the same way - even, rounded or corners. At the rounded ends, you can make two round holes (crochet, 2 loops together) and drag the lace crosswise, and in the belt with corners - one hole each.

Rice. 6. The belt with rounded ends is decorated with lacing.

Rice. 7. Belt with corners at both ends, decorated with a drawstring.

1. Belt with rounded ends (Fig. 6). We cast on three loops (A), then at the beginning and at the end of each row after and before the last loop we add one loop with a purl yarn until the number of loops corresponds to the width of the belt (BV). For lacing, we make two round holes, then we knit exactly the length of the belt, on the opposite side (HD) we again make holes for lacing, then we make a rounding, knitting at the beginning and at the end of each row before and after the last loop two loops together. When there are three loops left on the needles, close them (E). If desired, the belt can be tailored to the lining. We punch the caps into the holes, into which we stretch the cord.

2. A belt with corners at both ends (Fig. 7) also starts with three loops (A). Double-sided expansion is obtained by adding one loop with a purl yarn at the beginning of each row. We add loops until there is an appropriate number of loops on the knitting needle, which is equal to the desired belt width (BW). In the middle of the row we make a round hole for lacing, after which we knit an even part of the desired length. On the opposite side of the belt, we also make holes for lacing (HD) and begin to decrease the loops, knitting two loops together at the end of each row in front of the last loop. We decrease the loops until there are three loops left, which we tie together and tighten the thread (E). We punch the caps in the holes and stretch the cord for the tie.

Double sided belt

We make belts connected with double-sided patterns (garter stitch, rice knit, elastic, etc.), which are tied at the side, as well as straps, which are fastened with buttons at the ends, we make in the same way as the belts given above (see Fig. 5, 6 , 7). Their width is arbitrary.

Knitted cord belt

To knit a belt-cord, we take thick threads and knitting needles without rings. We fold the prepared threads in half and inside on the bend of the thread we collect two loops. We knit without turning the work, but moving the knitting needles from right to left. We knit both loops with facial ones for the lower lobules, alternating the ends of the threads. At the end of the finished cord, we drag the threads and tighten them with tassels.

Many craftswomen who know how to knit think about how to crochet a belt. Patterns and descriptions (for a dress, tunic or even jeans) will be offered below, as well as recommendations regarding yarn and knitting techniques.

What material is suitable

To begin with, it should be said that knitted belts should either be very stiff, like traditional belts, or look like a sash (a narrow soft strip of fabric). If the craftswoman tries to create a dense belt from a thin or too soft thread, the product will be non-functional and, most likely, will lie all her life at the bottom of a chest of drawers.

The material should be selected for the chosen model, then you get a practical and beautiful crochet belt. Schemes and description of the dense belt model are given in the following paragraphs.

The best option for hard products is cotton or linen. Its thickness should be at least 300 m per 100 grams, and the size of the hook is No. 2. With this combination of a thick thread and a thin hook, the canvas should turn out to be rather rough. If the craftswoman knits too weakly, it is better for her to use the hook even smaller. At the end of the work, as well as the thickness of the thread does not matter at this stage), you need to steam it with an iron and soak it with a solution of starch or sugar.

Belts-sashes

For soft belts, you can use absolutely any yarn, except for acrylic (it will roll up and quickly lose its appearance). Products of their thin cotton, microfiber and viscose look good. They are knitted very long, since the free edges must be tied into a knot and hang down at least 40 cm.

The ends of the belt are often decorated with fringe with beads, beads or sequins. In this case, more material is required to crochet such a belt (diagrams and descriptions can be a fragment of a regular flat fabric or a lace border). Soft products do not have to be starched, but it is advisable to steam them from the iron. It is not worth putting a heated device on the canvas, as artificial fibers immediately stick to the sole. When working with cotton, this is not dangerous.

How to crochet an openwork belt: diagrams and description

The photo below shows an example of a rigid openwork belt. In order for its size to be as the craftswoman planned, a test sample should be made using the selected threads and pattern.

The finished fragment must be steamed with an iron so that it takes on a real size (stretches or shrinks). Then you need to measure one rapport and calculate how many of them will be needed for the entire product. It should be noted that when worn, the belt will inevitably stretch a few centimeters.

Now you can start crocheting the belt. Schemes and descriptions give a complete picture of the order of work:

  1. Run a chain of air loops (VP) of the desired size.
  2. 3 ch, * 3 double crochet (CCH), 2 ch, 3 dc, 1 ch *. The part of the description between the asterisks must be repeated until the end of the row.
  3. * 3VP, lush column of 5SSN (PS), 5 VP, PS, 3 VP, single crochet (RLS) *.
  4. Next, you need to link 3VP and proceed to processing the second side of the initial chain from the VP. All actions are performed in the same way as along the first side.

Shutdown

When the canvas is tied, it needs to be steamed and starched. Then sew on the chosen fastener. It can be a buckle, buttons, a magnet or something else.

Often, a long fringe is also attached to such products, which is then tied into a knot.

The buckles are very functional, since their rod can penetrate into any hole in the openwork fabric.

It must be said that no matter how strong such a belt turns out, it still cannot be used as an alternative to a regular belt. If you want to thread the product through the loops of jeans or other trousers, you should take care of the lining.

Lined belts

The photo below shows products sewn onto a fabric base. This solution endows the finished belts with many important qualities:

  1. Lack of elasticity (they do not stretch).
  2. Durability.
  3. Durability (they last longer and do not tear).

Bright cotton is used as the basis here, but you can sew a knitted openwork strip on a regular leather belt. By the way, this solves the problem with the buckle and holes for its pin.

If the craftswoman decides to sew the base herself, she may not make holes for fastening the buckle. The photo shows that there are ways to fix the belts in the desired position by sewing on buckles that have a special design.

In order for the base of the product to be dense enough, several layers of interlining or some kind of hard fabric (for example, tarpaulin or jeans) should be put inside.

You can utilize the remnants of thin threads to create such a crochet belt (the diagrams and descriptions used here are completely different). As an alternative to a knitted fabric, a wide openwork border made of cotton is suitable. In a fabric store, you need to buy a piece of the required length and attach it to the selected base.
