What can be knitted from the remnants of yarn - personal experience. What to knit from leftover yarn for the home What can be knitted from 1 skein of yarn

Every knitter tends to accumulate unused pieces of yarn over time. And the question arises - what to do with these residues? In this article, we will convince you - there are a lot of options! Moreover, from multi-colored balls with knitting needles you can knit unique things and accessories that are not inferior to the best design developments. So, what to knit with leftover yarn?

original round rug

The rug consists of several elements. You can start knitting with any of them. Dimensions are determined by the number of loops cast on. In this model, the side of one element is approximately 60p.

Description

We collect 60p.

Row 1: 59p., leave the last 60th p. on sp. not by knitting;

2p.: on the same joint, with one remaining 60th p., remove the 59th p. and knit the remaining 58p.;

R 3: Knit 57 sts, leave 58 sts untied. We already get 3p .;

4r .: to three loops on sp. We remove one more, we knit the rest.

Thus, through each row we will knit with knitting needles for 1p. less. We form a triangle, along the diagonal of which there are untied loops. There will be 60 of them.

Row 1: Knit these 60 stitches. and add at the end of 1p .;

2p.: tie 60p., leave the extreme without knitting;

Row 3: Knit a row, add 1p at the end.

When uncovered 30p is dialed, we start the decrease from the side on which we added. We close by 1p. If the loops are not closed, holes will form.

Thus, we make reductions on both sides: on one side we close, on the second - we do not need to close. We continue until we have 1p left.

Now - attention!!! - knit 60p. on the other side, where they only made reductions.

Knit like the first triangle, decreasing the loops from the side where 30 closed loops remained.

We look at the whole progress of work in the photo.

Striped rug from leftovers

For work you will need:

  • the remaining pieces of thread;
  • hook;
  • direct sp.

Description

We collect the remaining balls of thread. The more colors there are, the more interesting the rug will turn out.

Crochet from these residues we knit chains of air loops. At the same time, we adjust the thickness: if necessary, we take the threads in several additions, focusing on the thickest threads so that our chains turn out to be of the same thickness.

Knitted chains are sewn and wound into a ball. We alternate colors randomly.

Having made a few balls, we begin to knit a rug from the remnants. This is best done with thick knitting needles No. 8 (No. 10). We knit with a regular stitch - front or wrong side. Alternating short colored sections look especially original.

Rug - chess from the remnants

The size and combination of colors of such a rug can be any. Everything is determined by the assortment of leftovers and your design ideas. This description tells how to knit a rug measuring 25 cm by 25 cm.

For work you will need:

  • threads of mixed composition of the same density and thickness;
  • cn. No. 4;
  • hook number 3;
  • sewing pins for fixing.

Description

The product consists of 10 rectangular parts. Each of them has a thickness equal to 1/5 of the width of the finished rug. For each of the stripes, you need to dial 10 stitches with knitting needles, which is approximately equal to 5 cm, and knit 25 cm in length. Finished strips need to be straightened and steamed.

Assembly

We lay out the details on a flat plane, alternating in colors. We fix along the edges with sewing pins.

We crochet the perimeter with single crochets (RLS), capturing two parts in one column: located along the side and across it. At the corners we knit 3СБН through 1p.

Then we knit another row of sc, knitting 3 sc from the loop in the corners.

Carefully hide the ends of the threads. Steam the product. If necessary, the strips can be stitched from the inside with a regular needle - for fixation. So the edges of the product will curl less.

Bookmarks

They can be made in two versions: in the form of a flat ribbon or a pigtail with a pompom. For the ribbon, we collect from 5 to 10 stitches (depending on the thickness of the yarn), we knit the desired length with a garter stitch and close the loops. Cast on 6 sts for the braid. On both sides, 2p. we knit inside out. stitch, and in the center we knit a 2x2 braid. Separately, we make a pom-pom and sew it on.

ball

For work you will need:

  • threads from leftovers (three colors);
  • straight knitting needles;
  • filler;
  • a needle with a large eye;
  • ordinary needle and thread;
  • hook.

Description

We will perform the ball with a garter pattern without edge stitches.

2p.: 1n., persons. to two extreme p., 2p. in 1l.;

Row 3: change the color of the yarn. All p. - facial.

4r. and all purl r.: as the 2nd p. Facial r. in the future we knit - l. P.

5r. change yarn color. We knit a parallelogram with alternating colors.

Having knitted 60 rubles, repeating the alternation of yarn colors 10 times.

We close the loops. You can do it with a crochet or knitting needles - as you prefer.

We break the thread, leaving a long end. We will need it to stitch the ball.

Assembly

We fold - as in the photo. We sew, combining the loops. We fix the thread without cutting. We turn the ball on the face.

Now we need to fill our ball with filler. Fill it in tightly. We tighten the second edge.

We hide the edge of the thread. To do this, we sew the ball with a needle and cut it off anywhere, pulling it slightly. She will go inside on her own.

If you are not satisfied with the result, you can more accurately match the colors at the junction. To do this, we tighten the threads using a regular needle and threads to match the color.

What to knit from leftover yarn

Good afternoon my dear friends! We all love to knit: some blouses, some dresses, and some children's toys. In general, each of us has our own interests.

Liked the video?

And in the life of almost every knitter, there comes a moment when she looks into her needlework basket and realizes that a lot of old and abandoned threads have gathered in it. It usually happens as a sudden epiphany. Knitting from leftover yarn is a great way to get rid of unwanted skeins.

This blanket was knitted by my friend, is it beautiful? Rate .

Sometimes this happens immediately after returning from the store with a new addition of threads to the needlework basket, and sometimes it's a simple cleaning that requires either getting rid of the superfluous and unnecessary, or still figure out where to apply these unnecessary things.
There was a moment when all these skeins were meant for something. Perhaps they were even used and only a few tens of meters or even half a skein remained of them, and at present they take up precious space.

What to do with them? Dear needlewomen, today's conversation will be about just that, and even with illustrative examples of how to make knitting from leftover yarn interesting and useful.

Fantastic knitting from leftover yarn

The first thing we will need to do with our basket and its contents is to disassemble the threads by the type of yarn and its thickness. If there are still threads that were in use, I offer you the secret of their “update”. I used to always wind them in big skeins and keep them suspended over the steam. With the advent of the Internet in the house, I learned how to do it easier.

The secret can be perfectly seen in the photo: we thread the thread through the spout of the kettle with boiling water and slowly pull it out. Voila... the thread is like new!

Small knitwear

Knitting from leftover yarn is not suitable if we are planning to knit a sweater for our husband, or other big things. For such acquisitions, there are now boutiques and supermarkets, online stores and markets. In extreme cases, we immediately purchase a kilogram of identical threads and knit a vest or sweater for our beloved husband, but we use the rest for other purposes.

A small amount of threads can be used to knit small children's things: booties, mittens, socks, berets or hats.

Knitted toys

For those needlewomen who have a baby at home, the remaining colored threads from knitting are just a godsend. Now on the Internet you can find a lot of ideas for creating toys for your child. Sometimes this hobby is quite adult people. About which toys to knit - you decide for yourself, or your grandchildren will tell you.

To create such beauty you need: bright threads and your imagination. A selection of ideas for knitted toys can be made endless.

Knitted little things
  • The remaining threads are very convenient to use for crocheting granny squares (circles or other geometric shapes). From such squares, connecting them with each other with a hook or a needle, bedspreads or paths are very often made. These products are called Afghans.
  • The types and size of the squares may be different, but in one product there must be squares that have the same size. Then they are much easier to connect with each other.

  • You can knit a washcloth from the remnants of cotton yarn.
  • The kitchen can also be decorated with interesting knitted crafts, for example: creating an egg stand. You can also tie tin or glass containers for bulk products. The kitchen will immediately become more comfortable.

I also suggest that you watch an interesting master class on knitting a leaf, and you can knit it from the remnants of yarn.

I think one of the tips or ideas you will definitely like. I wish you my own, one-of-a-kind, knitted products and crafts. Be happy.

You finish knitting any large product, and set aside the rest of the yarn. Over time, small skeins of yarn accumulate so much that it is impossible to count. These balls will lie in a secluded corner until the general cleaning of the house begins. Then they will go to the trash can, making room for new ones. Surely, many needlewomen face the described problem.

However, if desired, the remnants of the thread can be used, for example, for the manufacture of many necessary products for children and adults, as well as for the home. What to knit from the remnants of yarn, we propose to consider in this article.

Baby booties

The following idea is very original and simple. To make it, you need quite a bit of yarn. If one skein is not enough, the product can be beaten using threads of several colors. There are only two measurements that need to be taken. This is the length and girth of the foot. For knitting, you should also prepare two hosiery knitting needles. Their number is recommended to be determined by the thickness of the yarn. Ideally, they should be one and a half to two times thicker.

So, we proceed to the implementation of the first version of what you can easily knit with knitting needles from the remnants of yarn. First, we should make a fragment of a pattern measuring ten loops by ten rows, which in our case will be based on the front surface. That is, we will alternate rows of facial and purl loops. We measure the resulting fragment with a centimeter and divide the previously defined values:

  • Foot length per number of rows.
  • The girth of the foot on the number of loops.

That's the whole difficulty of knitting slippers from the remnants of yarn with knitting needles. Now multiply the totals by ten. As a result, we will find out how many loops we need to dial and knit rows in order to complete the product of the desired size. According to the calculations, we knit two rectangles of the same type. Then fold them in half lengthwise and sew ½. Then you need to sweep the two back edges, forming a heel. We carefully thread the thread along the edge of the sock and tighten it, fixing it from the wrong side. Now it remains only to make any animal by adding a muzzle, ears, tail and other details.

Slippers for adults

Knitting from the leftover yarn with knitting needles can be much more interesting than when there is a lot of yarn of the same color on hand. After all, this is a great scope for imagination. For example, you can make a thing striped, spotted, or knit an unusual pattern. Many experienced needlewomen use patterns for embroidery. And on them they knit amazing patterns on sweaters, scarves, hats, socks, mittens. You just need to connect your ingenuity to the matter, and the process will go quickly.

If our reader liked the interesting idea described in the previous paragraph, he can perform it for an adult. Then he will need a little more yarn than for booties. The rest of the technology will be identical.

Fancy chair

Each person wants to highlight not only himself, but also the place in which he lives. Parents are especially trying, wanting to equip their baby's room in the best possible way. We want to offer you an original version of what to knit with leftover yarn. This is an unusual seat for a chair in the form of a donkey, but if you wish, you can perform any other animal. Perhaps, an attentive reader noticed that in the proposed photo the product is made with a hook. However, it can also be done with knitting needles. To work, you need a standard stool with a square seat.

To begin with, we need to calculate the number of loops by measuring the seat and tying a fragment of the pattern. Having found out the number of loops for the set and the number of rows, we add ten pieces to each value and start knitting. When the square is ready, attach it to the stool and complete the head. Its principle is similar to what we described for booties earlier. Only the size of the product will be slightly larger and all sides will need to be sewn up. After that, we stuff the donkey's head with cotton wool or sew it to the body with shreds.

funny service

Don't know what to knit with leftover yarn? We propose to make “clothes” for cups and a teapot out of it. To implement such an idea is very simple. First you need to prepare five hosiery knitting needles. Next, we knit a fragment of the pattern, measure each item in the service and calculate the necessary parameters. We collect the correct number of loops and distribute them on four knitting needles. We knit in a circle using the fifth (auxiliary) knitting needle. We embroider muzzles and complement the "clothes" on cups-teapots with funny ears.

Thinking about what can be knitted from the remnants of yarn, pay attention to the fact that it can be used to make not only beautiful, but also practical things that will delight you or your loved ones. This is a bright and unusual scarf. It is incredibly easy to make it with knitting needles. But the result is sure to impress with its originality.

To fulfill the plan, you need to take two knitting needles. You should also prepare all the threads you have. We can safely determine the number of colors ourselves. After that, we knit three strips with a width of ten to fifteen loops, and a length equal to the desired length of the scarf. When everything is ready, we sew the three ends of the strips together and weave a pigtail. At the end, we also fix the product with threads. Add tassels or fringes around the edges. An amazing scarf with knitting needles is made!

Striped sweater for kids and adults

If the remnants of yarn are not small skeins, but rather large ones, you can create something more serious from them than decorations for cups. For example, a wonderful sweater. Required measures:

  • The starting point of the armhole is from the intended bottom of the jacket to the armpit.
  • The length of the armhole is from the armpit to the middle of the shoulder.
  • The neck is the diameter of the cutout for the head.
  • Chest girth - the circumference of the body at the level of the armpits.
  • Hip circumference - a similar measurement, but in the area of \u200b\u200bthe intended bottom of the product.
  • Sleeve length - from the middle of the shoulder to the wrist.
  • The girth of the wrist is the circumference of the palm clenched into a fist.

Having calculated the required number of loops and rows, we proceed to knitting. You can make a jacket from the remnants of yarn with knitting needles with front stitch or choose an original pattern. Otherwise, just knit, finishing one skein and starting another. In doing so, we focus on our calculations.

Bright rug for the house

We have already mentioned earlier that each person seeks to decorate his house with something special, unique. That is why we suggest you create one very beautiful and necessary little thing.

We collect four loops on the knitting needles and knit six rows. After that, the fun begins, because we will make the original round rug with knitting needles from the remnants of yarn. To do this, you need to move in a circle in a special way. We will talk about it in detail below. When the small rectangle is ready, insert the knitting needle into the loop of the bottom row on the left side and knit it. After we knit another loop from the next in the same row. Then we return on the wrong side back, but we knit three ordinary loops, and we connect the next two pairs together. Now let's move on to the front again. At the same time, we also capture the loop of the previous row. We knit it. Then the second.

In this way, we move along the left side row, knitting two loops. Following this knitting technique, you will be able to make an interesting spiral rug.

Elementary soft rug

According to the instructions above, you can also knit a wonderful blanket, as well as a cape on a bed or an unusual shawl. Everything depends on fantasy.

If our reader has only very small skeins of yarn left, there is no point in tying them together, since there will not be enough of them for anything. However, you can easily make a rug out of pompoms. To do this, we wind yarn on two or four fingers and count the number of turns. We bandage the middle, cut off the edges and form a pompom. We make the desired number of such details, and then simply sew them together with a sewing needle and threads of a neutral or contrasting color.

This knitting technique does not require knitting needles. It is easy to do with a child or with a family member who does not know how to knit.

Rustic bedspread

In the past few years, a trend based on folk style has gained unprecedented popularity. For this reason, we offer the reader an interesting version of the bedspread. It will be a great decoration for your own home or an original gift to a friend or acquaintance.

To begin with, we need to decide on the pattern. The easiest option would be the front surface. It can be used for warm and dense bedspreads. But if you want to make a summer cape, then it is recommended to choose a more openwork pattern. One of them is shown in the photo below.

It is very easy to execute it. We collect eleven loops on the knitting needles and knit the same number of rows, based on the proposed scheme. At the end, we close the loops without tightening them much. We take a yarn of a different color and repeat the already familiar steps. Let's do the next square. We knit as many as we want. Here you need to take into account one nuance, which is that the threads should be approximately the same in thickness, so that all squares are equal in side length. When the main stage of the implementation of the bedspread from the remnants of yarn with knitting needles is completed, it remains only to collect all the fragments together with a needle and thread.

Good afternoon dear friends!

We knitters always accumulate so much leftover yarn. It is so?

I have two huge shelves in my closet. I was just putting things in order recently, sorting it out and thinking about how to put the remnants of yarn into action.

Therefore, I want to discuss this topic with you, what to knit from the remnants of yarn for the home, ideas for knitting and crocheting, what crafts can be done.

While I was thinking and picking up different ideas, I got an article - an overview of my blog posts. It turns out that quite a few little things have already been proposed to be knitted, for which the remnants of yarn can be used.

Well, a review is a review, with pictures and links to relevant articles, maybe it will come in handy for someone. For some, the ideas will turn out to be new, but someone saw, but postponed knitting until future times. Here's just a reminder. Well, I'll throw in some new ideas.

What to tie: in general, such a question may concern many who, in principle, love to knit and it doesn’t matter what, as long as their hands are always busy, because you get such tremendous satisfaction from this! It comes from somewhere inside, knitters will understand me. By the way, we recently thought about the topic ““, if you are interested, come read and participate in the discussion.

What little can be knitted from leftover yarn for the home

Potholders and coasters

The first thing that always comes to mind, for some reason, is potholders for the kitchen. The easiest way to use leftover yarn.

Indeed, old items that are out of use often require replacement, and new decorations for the kitchen will not hurt.

I will offer you a couple of new bright ideas.

The first potholder is crocheted in the form of a square of bright threads. Diagonally, when knitting corners, the hook is inserted under the leg of the column of the previous row, so such an interesting effect is obtained.

For the second pot holder with a flower in the center (see the diagram of the flower), I used a different color of yarn for each of the four sides. It also looks very bright and fun.

Other potholders from leftover yarn:

In addition, you can knit wonderful yarn from the remnants of yarn.

Cases

Have you seen potholders in the form of covers for the handle of the pan? Very creative and always on hand.

Here is just another idea from the leftover yarn - to knit all kinds of covers:

  • on arms, legs, shoulders,
  • for and
  • For ,
  • For .

You can knit and knit and crochet such things. You will find different ideas with diagrams on the relevant links.

Tie a pocket for small items and attach it to the armrest on the sofa. It will be convenient to store remote controls in it, and you can put the phone, and knitting needles, or you can pour sweets and drink tea while stroking the TV.

Cases for our legs can also be knitted from leftovers.

flower decorations

A couple of creative ideas: make a chair cover from flowers alone and decorate the wall with knitted flowers. I also met knitted flowers on country fences made of mesh. I implemented this idea for my flower garden.

I also really like topiary, including knitted flowers. While waiting for my implementation of this idea.

baskets

What else can be knitted from the remnants of yarn?

What do you think of the idea of knitted baskets for the kitchen and bathroom?

To store the yarn itself, too, a basket will not hurt. Bright, cozy. And it is convenient to knit by putting the balls there, then they will not roll all over the floor and get confused.

It is not difficult to crochet a basket. First, we knit a circle for the bottom, and then we continue knitting up without adding loops in the rows. Use single crochets and take a thicker hook. Then the knitting will be tight and the basket will keep its shape well.

And you can also connect from the remnants.

panel

In the next photo, the idea of a knitted panel with knitting needles. She liked me so much that I even wanted to embody. All you need to knit from the remnants of yarn with knitting needles is a small rectangle with a pattern with a pigtail and hoist this work of art into a frame.

You can use the pattern that you once knitted for a pullover.

More complex in execution, you can connect a picture - my dream is still too.

Various original panels and crochet can be knitted. I knitted a panel in the form of a sunflower for my kitchen. Master Class .

Pillows and rugs from leftover yarn

From the remnants of yarn with your own hands, you can make pillows and rugs.

First, tie, of course. Use bright remnants of yarn and knit a pillow from motifs, you can also square, or a pillow with a zigzag pattern, or like this, as in the photo -. And you can even knit fashionable!

And here is such a bright one of tiny squares, I also like it. I recorded on video how to knit a motif:

A rug from the remnants of yarn can be knitted round in any way, decorated with tassels or not decorated.

I really like pillows and rugs made of pompoms and knitted flowers from various leftovers.

First you need to impose a bunch of flowers or wind pompoms, and then sew them closer to each other on some kind of fabric base.

In addition to knitting, you can use another way to make pillows and rugs: cut the yarn into pieces and attach them to the base in a mesh with a hook. For pillows, it can be knitted using loin technique. And for rugs, you will need to find a special type of burlap, even a construction mesh will do.

A detailed description of this technology is in the article.

See patterns for rugs.

Maybe someone will feel sorry for cutting the yarn, but such a fluffy beauty turns out, and even with a pattern! I once decided and did not regret that I made a pillow from threads. And it didn't take that long.

Plaids from leftover yarn

We got to the bigger stuff. A blanket made from leftover yarn? Why not?

One of my readers spoke out that after knitting something, any thing, a square motif is immediately knitted from the remnants of yarn and so gradually collects them in a plaid. I wonder if this work has already been completed or not?

Plaids with squares always look very interesting, you can even knit squares with different patterns and combine knitting and crochet in one blanket.

Of course, to knit a plaid from the very beginning as a separate work, you will need quite a lot of leftover yarn, and the most difficult thing is to choose them according to the color and thickness of the thread. But over the years of knitting, a lot of these can accumulate, in principle it is possible. In addition, you can dissolve old pullovers and sweaters.

I present ideas for blankets from the remnants of yarn in the photo.

One bright plaid with knitting needles is knitted in the patchwork style, knitting in short rows is used.

For another plaid, you need to knit separate colored stripes and then sew them together.

We have a diagram and a description of knitting similar.

There has already been a story about crochet blankets.

Another bright plaid is crocheted in rows of simple single crochet stitches: two rows of single crochet stitches, in the third row - several single crochet stitches at the base of the previous row and several double crochet stitches, when knitting which the hook is inserted into the stitches a row below.

From the remnants of yarn, you can get knitting from a corner and crochet, and from new ideas - You will find diagrams and descriptions by clicking on the appropriate links, and I will post the video here again.

Or such a bright “Rainbow” blanket, in which you can use almost all colors at once. How to connect the pattern to it with embossed columns diagonally, see the video.

Crafts from leftover yarn

How to use leftover yarn? You can knit different toys. I have only knitted so far, he, along with his fellows from other materials, helps me get rich.

You can make all kinds of crafts from pompoms for children and just for comfort.

And a vase with flowers - pom-poms looks charming, and such a poodle may well decorate the interior and even give it as a gift. I did this when I was young. We use any freed small bottle, we knit a case for it. We make ears, paws, a tail and a crest from pompons.

Have you ever knitted with a thin thread in several additions? It’s good when there are a lot of balls and you can eventually choose the desired thickness of the thread, but what if there aren’t enough balls? Rewind, puzzling over how to make the balls the same?

In this article we will talk about knitting in several threads from one ball in two ways.

By combining these methods, you can easily knit in several additions of thread - two, three, and even four or six threads from one ball.

Method one - knitting in two threads from one ball. To knit in two threads, you need to find the second thread inside the ball. It often happens that the thread cannot be found immediately, while a skein of threads is pulled out, among which it is already easy to find the inner end of the thread. The thread will unwind from the outside of the ball and from the inside. It is convenient to knit with a thread from the inside of the ball even when it is not required to knit in two additions, while the ball lies in place and does not jump around the room to the delight of the Murks and Barsiks.

Method two - knitting in three threads from one ball. The basis of knitting this method is crocheting a chain of air loops. For knitting in three threads, you need to fold the end of the thread into a loop, through which you need to stretch the thread from the ball. This forms another loop through which we will continue to pull the thread. The thread-loop is pulled out long enough, for the entire span of the arms. The threads are aligned and you can start knitting in three threads. When knitting reaches the place where the triple thread ends, then from the remaining tail-loop we pull the thread from the ball - a new loop.

When combining the first and second methods, we get knitting in four or six threads.

And when knitting from two balls, you can connect the threads in four, five, seven, eight, and if the threads are very thin, then even in nine, ten, twelve additions.

The junctions of the threads are completely invisible in the knitted fabric. This method of knitting in several additions from one ball can be used both in knitting and crocheting.
