The label indicates the size of the needles and hook No. 2. In fact, the size does not matter, because the knitted loop will stretch exactly as far as the length of the thread between the pompoms allows. Verona has analogues from different manufacturers. We will knit the simplest scarf from Verona yarn or any similar.
ATTENTION! We knit exclusively the ropes between the pompons, we do not touch the pompons themselves. Needle size - any (3.5 is more convenient for me). There are no edge loops in this knitting, i.e. we DO NOT remove the first loop and DO NOT purl the last one. 
SET OF HINGES. It's simple - we make a loop from a thread and put it on a knitting needle.
A pom-pom hangs between the loops. We collect the desired amount, I (usually) knit 5-6 pom-poms in width. 
Then we start the NEXT ROW. Be careful here - the next pom-pom should remain on the side.
We knit a facial loop from a thread above it and knit to the end (all loops are facial). 
FURTHER, leave the pom-pom on the side again (we do this at the beginning of each row! Thanks to this, we get a beautiful wavy edge) and knit with purl loops. Our knitting on the back looks like this: 
Then we repeat everything, we knit a row of facial, a row of purl. Don't forget to leave a pom-pom on the side! And we get it like this: 
If you knit the whole fabric only with facial loops, the scarf will turn out to be double-sided.
Now we calmly knit to the desired length of the scarf or ALMOST to the end of the hank and proceed to CLOSE THE LOOP. Here you need to be careful, because it is easy to get confused out of habit. We need hook number 4 or larger. 
We put the free knitting needle aside, we will no longer need it. We take the hook, thread it into the first loop on the knitting needle, grab the thread and pull it through this loop (the next pom-pom, as usual, remained on the side). We remove the loop from the knitting needle. 
Now we have a loop on the hook.
Next, we knit an air loop from the following thread and stretch a loop into it from the knitting needle: 
Then again, an air loop from the next thread and we stretch a loop into it from the knitting needle. So to the end. This is how the closed row looks from the front

We cut the thread AFTER the next pom-pom and stretch it into the last loop. Everything, our knitting will not bloom! To make the scarf look neater, we sew a dangling pom-pom to the main fabric. To the inexperienced eye, it will be imperceptible. We do the same at the beginning of knitting.

MK for a hat made of pompom yarn
I draw your attention to the fact that hats made from this yarn are quite voluminous. For those who want to knit with "Bob" yarn (Adelia): you should not knit from this yarn. The pom-poms are very large and instead of a charming female/childish head, you will get just a dandelion. Begin. We will need pom-pom yarn, knitting needles and plain yarn in a contrasting color. (The photo shows straight knitting needles, but you and I will need circular ones).
So, we collect the required number of loops on the knitting needles with ordinary yarn and knit with an elastic band the desired height. In my case, this is 10 rows with an elastic band 2 x 2. We close the loops. You should get something like this: 
Now we need to attach our pom poms. To do this, we take a hook, insert it under the elastic loop, hook the thread between the pompoms and pull it out, forming a loop. From the same thread we draw the second loop: 
That. we pull out TWO loops from ONE thread (between the pompoms). Along the way, we string the resulting loops on circular knitting needles. And we get it like this: 
Next, we knit the required number of rows in height in a circle with purl loops. 6 rows before the end of knitting, we begin to decrease. We decrease in every second row. To do this, we knit together 2 loops to the right of the pom-pom and 2 loops to the left of the pom-pom (that is, one pom-pom is reduced). We usually knit the next 4 loops, and again decrease.

P.S. The cap is warm, for an average winter. If you want to knit in cold weather, it is better to make a lining (from knitwear, fleece or knit from wool).
If you want to knit for autumn, then you do not knit 2 loops from one thread, but 1 loop. The fabric is looser.

And yet, despite the fact that winter will soon end, I offer you today description of knitting a children's scarf with pom-poms. After all, it’s not for nothing that they say that it’s better to cook a sleigh in the summer.
I knitted this scarf to replace the past - with snails (see detailed description). It is knitted in the same way, but this time I made a few changes:
1) I took another yarn (turquoise plain, 70% acrylic, 30% wool)
2) knitting needles No. 4
3) I made the scarf wider - I knitted the rapport with the oblique not 3, but 4 times. By the way, it is very convenient: in cold windy weather, you can tie a child’s nose and mouth with a scarf (it is wide enough and does not slip), and in good weather it folds up and looks narrow and neat.
4) Instead of snails at the ends of the scarf, I made one fluffy pom-pom.
5) Well, I made more length - after all, the child has grown.
In general, if you compare both scarves, they look completely different, although they are connected by the same pattern!
So, if the process of knitting the scarf itself is described in detail, then in this article it remains for me to tell you.
To make one pom pom we need:
* 2 pieces of cardboard
* pencil or pen
* scissors
* a compass and a ruler or any improvised round objects of the desired diameter (for example, it was easier for me to find children's toy plates and eggs from a kinder surprise in the house than a compass)
* a small ball of thread of the desired color (I took the rest of the same yarn from which I knitted a scarf)
To correctly choose the diameter of round objects (or circles), you need to decide for yourself what the diameter of the finished pom-pom should be.
Important: the diameter of the finished pom-pom will always be less than the diameter of the large circle by about the diameter of the small circle!
We circle a large circle on both pieces of cardboard, find the middle (for example, by measuring the diameter with a ruler and dividing by 2 or by eye).
We circle a small circle in the center, cut it out (you can first make one blank, and then trace the second one along it).
We put both blanks together and begin to carefully wrap them with threads, each time pushing the ball into the central hole (this method seems to me the most convenient).
When we wrap in one layer, we continue to carefully evenly wrap as much as we need (it depends on how dense and fluffy the pompom you want to get.
The photo shows that the width of the strip that we wrapped - this will be the size of the pompom from the middle to the edge, i.e. the hole in the middle will shrink to one point, which is why I wrote that the finished pompom will be smaller than the large circle we have chosen.
We now need to cut the threads along the outer edge. To do this, we lead the scissors between two cardboard circles, carefully cut and hold the already cut threads.
Now you need to carefully pull the threads in the middle so that the inner hole disappears. To do this, we stretch the thread between two cardboard circles and tighten the knot. For greater strength, you can wrap a few turns in a circle and tighten another knot.
The pompom is almost ready, you just need to get rid of the cardboard circles. If the pompom turned out to be very lush, the circles can simply be cut and removed. And if it works, you can simply remove the circles, and then fluff the pom-pom evenly on both sides.

Now the finished pompom for the thread with which we tied it up can be sewn anywhere. I made another pom-pom and sewed it to the scarf. Here's what happened.
