Master class for beginners, getting ready to embroider

Before you start embroidering, you should prepare all the necessary materials and tools for work. In order to embroider roses you will need:

  • Textile on which to embroider. It can be anyone, but it is better for novice craftswomen to take a canvas.
  • Needle with a sharp end and a large eye. If the embroidery will be done on the canvas, then you need a needle with a blunt end. It is more convenient for her to work on such fabric.
  • Ribbons any will do: size, material, color - choose to your taste. But keep in mind, the most suitable size is considered to be ribbons about two centimeters wide.
  • Threads, in some types of embroidery, thread is used to secure ribbons. Choose the most similar in color to the ribbons. Otherwise, the embroidery will look sloppy and clumsy.

Basics of embroidery

Most likely, at first you will experience difficulties in the formation of flowers. Video tutorials will help you understand everything.

Pattern embroidery

Experienced needlewomen, when working on paintings, use special schemes. They are transferred to the fabric and used as an outline for embroidery. For many beginner needlewomen, this approach seems too dreary and redundant.

Try this method when embroidering a small picture. Transfer the design to the fabric using a piece of crayon or a bar of soap. You will immediately notice how much easier it is to work. You will know exactly where a certain flower should be, as well as what size the elements should be.

We bring to your attention simple patterns for embroidering roses with ribbons. Perhaps you will like any of the paintings and you will bring it to life.

Patterns for embroidering roses on fabric

Do not underestimate the role of video tutorials when learning rose embroidery techniques. In this master class, the author embroiders on fabric. See how much easier it makes the job, and draw conclusions - is it worth it for you to spend time transferring the pattern of the picture to the fabric or not.

Roses for beginners

If you want to make a picture with roses from ribbons, but you can’t cope with embroidery or just don’t have the desire to learn the techniques of execution, try this easiest way. It is suitable for absolutely everyone - children, beginner craftswomen, people who do not know how to do with a needle and thread.

To create a picture you will need:

  1. Imagine how the finished picture should look like, mark the points on the fabric where the buds, flowers and leaves will be attached.
  2. Twist the required number of buds and roses from the ribbons of the desired colors. Sew them, lightly burn them from below and sew them onto the canvas.
  3. Cut out leaves from wide ribbons. Finish the edges with a lighter, sew to the canvas.

The picture is ready.

To diversify the composition, a picture with roses can be decorated with ribbon loops or ribbon knots.

Don't forget to watch video tutorials. They explain and show step by step how to quickly make beautiful roses from ribbons.

Roses made in this technique are more voluminous than flowers made in the previous way. Watch the video tutorial in order to better understand the technique and see it visually.

Thread embroidery

This version of rose embroidery is also suitable for beginners. When using this technique, twisting the buds is not required, roses are embroidered directly on the fabric. For this:

  1. Fasten the thread to the fabric and make five stitches of the same length, in different directions from the place of fastening, like the rays of the sun. The size of the stitch will determine how magnificent the flower will turn out.
  2. Bring the thread to the right side in the middle of the "sun" and start embroidering it in a circle, under and over the stitches.
  3. Do not tighten the embroidery too much, the flower may be squeezed.
  4. Instead of a thread, you can immediately use ribbons.

How to embroider kanzashi roses with ribbons

Kanzashi- art that came from Japan. And this is noticeable - kanzashi roses do not have rounded petals, as in most techniques, but voluminous and pointed. They are somewhat reminiscent of flowers created using the technique, but not from paper, but from fabric.

    It is possible to choose a needlework technique that will be interesting and suitable for a particular craftswoman only through trial and error. From this point of view, the oriental kanzashi technique, like no other, deserves to try your hand at it at least once.

    History of kanzashi

    In Japan, from where this art came to us, the term "kanzashi" (according to a more accurate transcription - "kanzashi") refers to floral hair ornaments. Hairpins, combs, headbands, rubber bands, decorated with ribbon flowers, were usually worn with kimonos.

    In Japanese kanzashi, precious and semi-precious materials, natural bone, and tortoise shell are often used. This was natural, since Japanese women did not wear any jewelry on their bodies. The richer they wanted to decorate their hair.

    Types of kanzashi

    • In Russia, needlewomen have most taken root Khana Kanzashi - these are kanzashi hair ornaments created on the basis of hairpins, hairpins, headbands, combs and sticks. The base is decorated with flowers from folded squares of various fabrics (satin, silk, organza). The second name for this type of kanzashi is Tsumami, from the Japanese word for "fold". One piece of fabric goes to one petal. At the base, each petal joins its comrade to end up with a whole flower or flower arrangement. The size of the flowers may vary, as well as the color, shape, material.
    • Subspecies of Tsumami - Sidare. These are decorations from which flowers hang on long threads or chains.

      Sometimes a round kanzashi is formed from the flowers - it is called Kusudama.

    The following varieties of kanzashi are less popular with us as a type of needlework, but they are found on sale, and the following varieties of kanzashi are also produced in large quantities in Japan:

      Combs - Kushi. Rounded scallops used to be made from tortoise shell or bone, but today the base is increasingly made of plastic. Flowers are either attached to the wide part of the comb, or a floral ornament is applied.

      Hairpin - Kanoko Dome. It practically belongs to precious jewelry, since the base is made of precious metals, jade or coral, and the ornament is made of pearls, semi-precious stones. In fact, this is a forked hairpin, which is good for pinning hair gathered in a bun. The decoration is usually presented in the form of a butterfly or a flower.

      Wooden kanzashi - Hira Uchi. It can be a comb, and a forked hairpin, and a thin long “needle”.

      Tama - round kanzashi. They do not consist of flowers, but of a solid circle made of plastic, metal, stone.

      Bira - differ from other types in that long chains are attached to the base, hanging from a hairpin or hairpin in a cascade. It looks very nice on the hair.

    In Japan, only specially trained people take on the manufacture of such jewelry, who need to know exactly what, how and from what material can be made and what cannot. Kanzashi is considered the national pride and treasure of the country.

    In Russia, kanzashi is simply one of the interesting techniques for creating jewelry and decor. Therefore, we have not only hair ornaments, but also kanzashi boxes, kanzashi headbands, kanzashi egg and even garters for curtains made using this technique.

    Kanzashi technique

    Squares of fabric (the easiest way is to use a satin or other ribbon cut into square pieces, since the squares are not sold separately in stores) are folded in half with tweezers to make a triangle. It is folded twice more. To get a sharp kanzashi petal, the resulting triangle is cut from the bottom. It is more difficult to get a round kanzashi petal - for this, the same square of fabric is folded in half, and the corners of the resulting triangle are raised up. This is how a rhombus is formed. It is bent in half, then bent in the middle, wrapping all the edges inward. After that, a circle is formed.

    It is best to watch the video of a master class on the kanzashi technique in order to see with your own eyes how to do it correctly.

    Materials and tools for kanzashi

    First of all, these are pieces of fabric: satin, satin, silk, organza. Accessories for kanzashi also include:

    Tweezers. Without it, few people succeed in folding a tiny square, and even more than once. It is not necessary to buy any special tweezers. You can use any one you feel comfortable working with.

    Sharply sharpened scissors for working with fabrics. It is better to have two types of scissors on hand - one large tailor, so that you can easily cut the tape into squares evenly, others with thin, short blades to trim the fabric and correct flaws.

    Matches. A lighter is also suitable - they are needed to burn the edge of the ribbon in time and prevent it from turning into a fluffy fringe.

    Adhesive for fabric. Someone prefers to use a thermal gun, which fastens the petals together. It's a matter of taste and convenience.

    Kanzashi patterns. Without them, you will be able to create only the simplest jewelry. Anything more complex requires the use of a template. True, very experienced craftsmen with rich imagination claim that they can do without them.

    Middles for kanzashi. These are various accessories that will act as the centerpiece of your flower. For example, pebbles, brooches, figurines, etc.

    Needle and thread. It is not always convenient to fasten the product with glue. Sometimes it's better to use a good old needle.

    Other accessories. Nobody says that the decoration should consist only of flowers. All sorts of interesting decorative gizmos, which are presented in abundance in sewing shops (and probably lay around in the needlework box of any experienced craftswoman) will give pattern dyeing a touch of uniqueness and charm.

    Basics for kanzashi. You will be attaching flower petals somewhere. Here, we need base blanks in the form of the base of hairpins, hairpins, headbands, etc.

    The choice of ribbons for kanzashi

    Satin ribbons, presented in a wide variety on the shelves of specialized stores, differ not only in color, but also in width. The most popular among craftswomen are kanzashi from 2.5 cm and 5 cm tape. Although you can also make kanzashi from rep tape.

    To determine exactly what length of tape you need, you need to carefully listen to the craftswoman from the video of the master class - usually she says how much and what is needed. Or read the job description.

    The main advice for beginners is not to take on complex elements. Start with flowers with few petals. This will help you to guarantee success and not lose interest in kanzashi (which often happens when the first pancake comes out lumpy).

    Round petals are best made not from satin, but from silk or crepe satin. These materials are much easier to bend.

    You should also not start with light-colored ribbons. The edges of the tape as a result of cauterization may darken, therefore, until you master all the subtleties of craftsmanship, opt for blue, purple, dark green colors.

    If you decide to work with organza, keep in mind that this material crumbles very intensively after cutting.

    Flowers from kanzashi ribbons

    As mentioned above, flower kanzashi have received the greatest popularity in Russia. Let's take a step-by-step look at several options for creating different most spectacular looking flowers.

    This voluminous flower looks very beautiful. To create it you will need:

      Ribbon 3-5 cm wide and at least 3 meters long (with a margin), the color of the ribbon is white or yellow;

      Scissors, glue in a metal tube with a long spout, a lighter, an elastic band 15 cm long;

      Base fabric, quite dense, with non-shrinking edges. For example, felt.

      Line, beads.

    A step-by-step description of creating a chrysanthemum using the kanzashi technique:

        We cut the tape into pieces 7 cm long. We need to make 50 such pieces (in general, they need a little less, but let there be a supply).

        We bend the ribbons along the front side outward.

        We cut one tip of the bent petal obliquely and singe with a lighter.

        Opposite corners are simply fastened together by bending them with an overlap and butt. We also singe the edge of the tape.

        We turn all the ribbons in the same way into petals.

        We take our base with a diameter of 3 cm. We make two cuts and thread an elastic band into them. It should turn out like this:

    Actually, we need an elastic band to subsequently fix the chrysanthemum in the hair. But after the formation of the finished flower, you can glue or sew an ordinary, unadorned hair band to match the flower to the felt.

        From the fishing line we cut two pieces of 6 cm long. We glue three beads on each, as shown in the figure above.

        Glue the petals to the base. On rows 1-3 we glue 8 petals, on 4-5 rows 6, on the 6th we glue 4 petals.

        Each subsequent row is glued into the gap between the petals of the previous row.

        After the fifth row, we glue a fishing line with beads into the middle.

        In the middle of the sixth, final row, we insert a beautiful brooch or a large bead.

    Tip: you can use petals of different colors to get the original flower.

    Required tools and materials:

      Satin ribbon 5 cm wide and 1 m long,

      Lighter, scissors, ruler,

    • Glue, toothpick.

    Step 1. We cut the tape into 7 square pieces with a length and width of a square equal to 5 cm. We burn the edges.

    Step 2 We bend each square diagonally and fix it at the top with a lighter.

    Step 3 For the core of the future flower, we fold one prepared petal with the corners down.

    Step 4 We do the same with other petals, only we bring the ends together not end-to-end, but leaving a small gap. At the bottom, we cut the sharp corners with scissors and burn them with matches or a lighter.

    Step 5 Apply glue to the first, core petal. You can do this with a toothpick - the size of the petal is so small that you can ruin the product if you apply glue directly from the tube.

    Step 6 We turn the petal, as shown in the figure.

    Step 7 Around the first petal we firmly wrap the second one, with glue also applied to it.

    Step 8 After all the petals are glued, the rose becomes like a rose.

    But you can add as many petals as you like. To get a truly magnificent flower, it is worth adding about 10 more petals.

    Kanzashi - tulips

    Perhaps the simplest flower that can be made using this technique.

    So, we need:

      Ribbon 2.5 cm wide.

    .

    Cut the ribbon into 4 squares. We form from each a classic sharp kanzashi petal.

    We glue the petals together with a thermal gun or glue.

    We form a tube and fix the petals with glue so that they do not fall apart. Tulip is ready.

    As a tulip can be used in decor.

    Easter kanzashi

    Although the Japanese would hardly have approved of this, in Russia, not only hair ornaments began to be made using the kanzashi technique. Using basic fabric petals as a building material, craftswomen get a wide variety of products. For example, Easter eggs.

    kanzashi easter egg

    Here is such a cute Easter egg can be made using the kanzashi technique.

    What is needed for this:

      Blue satin ribbon 3 cm wide. This egg will take about 300 petals. In total, we need 9 meters of tape.

      As a basis, an oval object pasted over with felt is taken. For example, a wooden egg.

      Petals are formed, as for a regular flower kanzashi. Glue them to the base from the bottom up. The order of arrangement is visible in the figure.

    You can also make an Easter egg using this technique:

    Other kanzashi for Easter

    You can make a cute chicken. More specifically, chicken-themed fridge magnets.

    You will need: yellow satin ribbon, scissors, matches, a small piece of red ribbon, pieces of black fabric, yellow fabric that does not fringe along the cut line. Well, the base is in the form of a round magnet. Thick cardboard is glued on it, felt on cardboard. Petals are already glued to the felt. You can also take as a basis a convex semi-oval, for example, from the same thick cardboard. Then the chicken will turn out voluminous.

    You can also make an entire Easter composition using the kanzashi technique. For example, this one:

    Kanzashi by May 9

    You can decorate clothes or hair for the Victory Day in the style of kanzashi - simple, spectacular, unusual.

    Brooch in kanzashi style for May 9

    The simplest thing you can do for this holiday is a beautiful brooch with which you can attach a St. George ribbon to your clothes.

    The easiest option for beginners in its final form will look like this:

    What you need:

      Red or orange satin ribbon 5 cm wide,

      A small piece of black felt

      Scissors, matches,

      The basis for the brooch (a piece of metal with a needle-clasp at the bottom - you can disassemble the old brooch or look for a blank base in stores),

      St. George Ribbon.

    The procedure will be like this:

          Cut the ribbon into 7 squares.

          Fold each square diagonally.

          Raise the corners of the resulting triangle to the top.

          Cut off the corners formed to the right and left of the petal. We burn the edge with matches. You will get the following petals:

          Cut out a small circle from the felt. We glue the petals on it.

          Sew or glue the core into the center.

You can make a slightly more complex, but much more spectacular looking version of the brooch. Here's one:

You will need ribbons of three colors.

Step 1. We form the petals.

Step 2. We glue the required number of petals (count how many of them are in the photo of the brooch that you liked) to the base - a piece of dense fabric (you can take felt, as in the first case), round or oval.

Step 3. We decorate the brooch with rhinestones and a festive white bow (optional).

This is the kind of beauty you can get in the style of kanzashi, if you make it from a St. George ribbon. So, the required tools and materials:

    St. George Ribbon,

    Scissors, tweezers, glue,

    Line, lighter.

    Metal clasp for a brooch.

The order of work is as follows:

          We cut the St. George ribbon into square pieces.

          We fold each piece several times, as shown in the pictures:

A) at an angle

B) From right to left

IN) One more time in half

G) Cut off the excess and burn it with matches

          Ready-made petals-blanks should turn out like this:

          Now we take a St. George ribbon 20 cm long. We cut the edges of the ribbon inward at an acute angle to make beautiful forked sections. So that the cut does not fringe, we burn its edges.

From the wrong side of the ribbon we attach a clasp for a brooch to it.

          We collect the petals into a flower, gluing them to the brooch. The core can be decorated with a bead or a pebble.

          You have a ribbon with a brooch, as in the picture above.

After you master simple kanzashi, you can start implementing more complex, interesting ideas.

Beautiful curtains - a beautiful pickup. How about this option:

To bring this idea to life, you will need:

    Satin ribbons of any shades (to match the curtains or contrast - your choice). The width of the tapes should be 5 cm.

    White or cream ribbon 1 cm wide.

    Old, not needed, but whole CDs.

    Scissors, tweezers, ruler.

    Line and beads.

Progress.

1. Cut out the middle from the disks, stepping back 1.5 cm along the edges.

2. Cooking petals. We will need sharp petals of different colors.

3. From part of the petals we form buds, gluing three petals in each. Make 5 of these buds.

4. Form a flower from five petals and several stamens.

5. For stamens, we need fishing line and beads. For each small piece of fishing line we string two beads (one at both ends). Bend the stamens in half.

6. We wrap the rim of a larger diameter cut from the disk with a thin light satin ribbon. On it in pairs, as indicated in the figure, 20 petals of two different colors are glued.

Please note that these petals are folded differently - just in half, from triangular blanks.

7. Glue the flowers between the leaves. On the sides are satin buds. At the top of the disk we decorate with a pigtail woven from satin ribbons.

Not only flowers, but also berries can be made from satin ribbons. So, to create a blackberry (or raspberry) you will need:

    Round pieces of tape with a diameter of 1-1.5 cm,

    Lighter,

    Scissors, needle and thread to match the tape.

    Green satin ribbon 5 cm wide.

    Piece of felt.

Progress:

  1. With the help of a needle and thread, we form small balls-bags from circles. Like these ones:

    There should be 7 such circles in total.

    We collect them together like beads with the help of the same thread with a needle.

    As a result, we get such a berry

  1. We cut the green ribbon into squares, form round kanzashi petals from them. Enough 7-10 petals.

    We cut out a round base from felt, attach green petals to it, and glue our blackberry in the center.

Tips: if you take a red ribbon, you get a juicy raspberry, which can be done in the same way. And if you are going to decorate with a berry not an elastic band, then you will not need felt - the leaves with blackberries can be sewn or glued immediately to the finished product.

1. ELEMENTS OF KANSASHI FOR DECORATION OF PICTURES AND PHOTO FRAMES

With the help of simple videos and photo master classes for beginners, you will quickly learn how to make graceful flowers that will decorate a picture with a frame using the kanzashi technique.

In general, in Japanese kanzashi, there are many interesting ways to make decorative flowers from different materials. . Japanese craftsmen use a wide variety of flowers to decorate jewelry: fan-shaped ogis, kushi combs, birabira pendants, kanokodome stone flowers, kogai hairpins, tama and kusudama. But our most common technique is hana (or tsumami). This is a direction in needlework. Only as a material for creating separate modules for crafts, not paper is used, but a satin ribbon. Square pieces are cut out of it and elements for jewelry are formed.

The most common elements are petals of various shapes, with and without curls. Flowers are formed from them, and from flowers - compositions for decorating women's accessories. or paintings. The most popular flowers from kanzashi ribbons among masters are irises, roses, chrysanthemums, lilies. Sometimes the central part of the flower is decorated with beads, rhinestones, buttons.

The easiest way to decorate a picture with kanzashi flowers:

Materials and tools for work:
sharp scissors, hot glue gun, lighter, wide wooden frame, A-4 cardboard, large black beads, felt, burlap, gold braid, steel tape. Satin ribbon of yellow, green, orange, red colors (width - 5 cm)

Stages of work:

from satin ribbons cut out pieces of 5 by 5 cm.

We form round petals from orange, yellow and red squares using the kanzashi technique (below are separate MKs for making different petals and flowers)

We make round and sharp petals from green squares. Green petals will be single and double.

Now we make the core for the flower. To do this, carefully cut out a circle of 1.5 cm from felt with scissors. Then we cut out 4 more of the same circles.

The made petals are distributed around the circle of our core and glued with hot glue.

In the center of the core of the flower, beads must be glued, and along the edge - a golden braid.

We cut out sharp petals from a steel ribbon and distribute them between the petals from satin ribbons.

We make the basis for the kanzashi flower arrangement in the form of a picture. We stretch burlap on a sheet of cardboard and fix it with a wooden frame.

Now it remains to trust your taste and create a composition of kanzashi flowers on the canvas. Flowers can be glued with super glue.

Watch our MK, and, perhaps, crafts using the kanzashi technique will become your favorite hobby.

Kanzashi is a technique for creating flower decorations made from materials such as silk, organza, satin. The first acquaintance with kanzashi, for beginners to understand this type of needlework, may seem rather difficult. In fact, this technique is incredibly simple. It is only once to understand its basics and it will be impossible to stop.

Kanzashi - a technique for creating flower decorations made from materials such as silk, organza, satin

The study of any kind of needlework begins with the basics, since only they help to master it perfectly. One of the most common types of kanzashi, tsumami, is based on only two types of petals: round and sharp, and everything else depends on the imagination and skill of the needlewoman.

DIY basic petals

To make petals, you will need the following materials and tools:

  • satin ribbon 5 cm wide;
  • ruler or centimeter;
  • scissors;
  • tweezers;
  • colorless glue (for example, Moment Crystal) or a glue gun;
  • candle, lighter or matches (it is most convenient to work with a candle).

Learning any kind of needlework starts with the basics

Having prepared everything you need, you can start creating a petal:

  1. Measure 5 cm from the tape and cut.
  2. Fold the resulting square diagonally to form a triangle.
  3. Next, fold both side ends alternately to the middle so that you get a rhombus.
  4. Then fold the rhombus in half along its back side, again you get a triangle.
  5. Now you need tweezers. They need to pinch the side of the petal that is crumbling.
  6. Cut off the edge and burn.
  7. That's all, the round petal is ready. Having made a few more petals, you can collect them into a flower.

The sharp petal is done a little differently:

  1. First, cut out a square, measuring a length of 5 cm from the tape.
  2. Then it folds in half diagonally, turning into a triangle, which also needs to be folded in half.
  3. You will end up with a smaller triangle that needs to be folded in half again.
  4. One corner of the resulting figure will be with crumbling edges. It must be clamped with tweezers and singe over the flame of a candle or lighter. The sharp petal is ready.

Having studied the basics of the technique and learned how to make basic petals, you can start making a wide variety of flowers: both simple and complex. At the very beginning, it is best to rely on master classes that describe in detail the entire process of making blanks and assembling.

How to make the easiest kanzashi flower?

After making several basic petals, you can make one, albeit simple, but very beautiful flower.

The manufacturing process can be divided into three stages:

  1. Collection of petals, carried out both with glue and thread with a needle. Moreover, the second option is preferable, since it provides the most reliable coupling between them.
  2. The design of the back side of the flower consists in gluing a base to it, suitable for further use. It can be felt or ordinary cardboard, covered with a fabric that matches the color.
  3. Front side decoration. After collecting a flower, it has an open middle, which does not always look beautiful. You can hide it with the help of various beads or other small details. They can be glued with both hot glue and Moment.

After making several basic petals, you can make one, albeit simple, but very beautiful flower.

After these stages, the flower is completely ready. It can be used as a decoration for a hair band, headband, comb or brooch.

How to make a dahlia using kanzashi with your own hands: step by step instructions

A wide variety of flowers are collected from satin ribbons, including dahlias. Moreover, the petals for them are folded in a slightly different way. Find out exactly how below.

  • satin ribbon 2.5 and 1.2 cm wide;
  • scissors;
  • tweezers;
  • glue (moment crystal or hot);
  • ruler;
  • a candle;
  • piece of felt.

A wide variety of flowers are collected from satin ribbons, including dahlias.

Step-by-step instructions for making a flower include:

  1. Preparation. At this step, blanks for the petals are made from the ribbon. Rectangles 7 cm long are cut from a tape 2.5 cm wide, and rectangles 5 cm wide are cut from the other. From 27 to 30 pieces are required for one flower. large rectangles and 16-20 pcs. small ones.
  2. Making petals. Take one of the rectangles with the wrong side towards you, mentally divide it into three equal parts. Next, fold the left edge inwards at a 90º angle, with the top of the corner at the third point. Then you need to connect the top and bottom peaks, once again bending the left edge of the tape. In this case, you should pay attention to its ends, they must converge. Next, on the front side of the resulting figure, fold the sides inward. Moreover, we bend the upper part slightly, but the lower one is slightly larger (the side edges should converge in the center). Fix the edge of the petal with tweezers, and use a candle to singe its ends. Do the rest of the flower petals in the same way.
  3. assembly. Take a piece of felt and cut out a circle with a diameter of 4 cm from it. The petals will be collected on it. And this is how it is done: take one large petal, coat its lower corner from the wrong side, attach it to the felt base and press it lightly. So the first circle is glued. The remaining petals are used for the second circle, and it is desirable to place their tops between the first petals. In the event that after gluing the second circle, you still have petals, glue them to the wrong side of the base. So the first row of the flower will become more magnificent. Now it remains to attach small petals. Their first row is glued to the central large petals, that is, they seem to be nested one inside the other. The rest are evenly distributed inside the central circle of the felt base.
  4. Decoration. After all the petals of the flower are collected, it remains open in the middle. It can be covered with a bead, carnation or some other small decoration.

That's all, the kanzashi dahlia flower is completely ready.

In the list of women's hobbies, Kazan women take one of the leading places, moreover, this hobby is increasingly chosen by men!

A little history of beautiful needlework

Historically, the birthplace of this art form, like origami, is Japan, and it appeared around 1700. Japanese women were not allowed to wear necklaces or bracelets, so they decorated their hair in a special way.

Kanzashi (or kanzashi) - the so-called combs, sticks or hairpins decorated with silk flowers. Looking at kanzashi, one could judge the character and even the social status of a woman, because luxurious jewelry often cost even more than a kimono.

Kanzashi varied in color and shape depending on the time of year. Products were created by eminent masters. The manufacturing technology of those times was different from the modern one - the craftsmen used rice glue, each silk square piece was folded and a petal formed, they, in turn, were collected on a thread and glued to the base. Thus, whole bouquets were collected, with which combs or hairpins were decorated.

Kanzashi and modernity

Nowadays, this Japanese technique has not lost its significance and has become popular in European countries. Needlewomen create kanzashi-style flowers and decorate hair accessories and brooches with them. These accessories are especially popular among brides, because kanzashi flowers can be tastefully decorated with wedding paraphernalia.

Young mothers will also be interested in this kind of creativity - their little princesses will be happy to wear all kinds of bright rubber bands, headbands, hair clips.

Mastering the technique of Kazan from satin ribbons is not so difficult, but you will have to be patient and perseverant, as this is a rather painstaking work that requires attention, accuracy and perseverance. If you have already tried, or, the work will not seem difficult to you.

So, the materials needed to get started:

  • satin ribbons (for beginners, preferably 5 cm wide);
  • beads or buttons (for the centers of flowers), a lighter or a candle (but be careful - the candle can smoke the tape);
  • sharp scissors, needle and sewing thread;
  • glue (we recommend choosing colorless, "Moment Crystal" is ideal);
  • tweezers.

You can use a wide variety of accessories and materials: organza, tulle, rhinestones, sequins,.

Where to start: basic principles of work

For convenience, immediately cut the tapes into identical squares and singe them so that the satin does not crumble during work (more experienced needlewomen use a soldering iron, it cuts the tape evenly and simultaneously singes the edges). In the original, in the kanzashi technique, there are only two types of petals - sharp and round. But modern craftswomen have come up with many modifications to the shapes of the petals, which allows you to diversify the work and make it even more interesting.

The step-by-step technique for creating kanzashi is as follows:

  1. Cut satin ribbons into squares.
  2. From each square, fold a petal, singeing the ends and junctions with a lighter.
  3. Collect the petals on a strong thread.
  4. Glue the resulting blank to the base - it can be a circle of felt or a circle of cardboard covered with satin to match the flower.
  5. Glue or sew on the middle of the flower (for example, a button).
  6. Add decor if necessary (for example, rhinestones or lace);
    attach the finished kanzashi flower to the base (hairpin, brooch, headband, etc.).
  7. Wait for the glue to dry completely and spread the petals if necessary.
