Beautiful napkin rings. Beautiful do-it-yourself napkin rings: manufacturing methods. fabric rings

Good day!

Outside the window, mid-autumn is the most colorful and inspiring time. The color palette, mood and images of autumn cannot leave any needlewoman indifferent. But time is running fast and it's time to think about the New Year holidays. Stock up on suitable materials and ideas in advance in order to prepare gifts for relatives and friends for the New Year, please yourself and generally make this holiday unforgettable. And what could be better than a handmade gift - useful, beautiful and wholeheartedly!

Among the variety of New Year's ideas, there are many interesting, original, and most importantly affordable ways to decorate gifts and create holiday accessories. Last year, I offered my version of a simple and quick decoration of a bottle of champagne.

This MK was a huge success on the net, it was repeatedly duplicated on a variety of resources in various versions (both with my permission and without it), and was also published by the magazine "Ksyusha. For lovers of needlework" (December 10/2012). Thank you all for your attention and kind words, I'm glad it was useful :)

This year I offer my version of decorating the New Year's table for inspiration.

Making these decorative napkin rings is easy and fast, and most importantly, you can use everything that you have at hand. Surely everyone in the far corner will have a lot of "treasures", especially in boxes for storing New Year's toys;)

So let's get started! We need the bare minimum:

base for the ring

hot glue

any decorations, objects, accessories that cause you to associate with the New Year)

First of all, we determine the basis for the rings. In my case, this is a base from under a cellophane film made of thick cardboard with a diameter of 4.5 cm. I think every housewife has such an item;) If you want to get a "waterproof" base for rings, you can use a small plastic bottle as a base. But even the kind of cardboard that I use is quite resistant to water. Even after "bathing" in champagne, it must simply be rinsed with water and dried well.

Having chosen a suitable base, cut it into rings 3 cm wide.

We wrap the blanks with a tape of the desired color, fixing it with hot glue.

Choosing decor...

And the best part - decorate the rings! I wrapped them in green ribbon.

I glued a green-gold floristic mesh.

Berries and cord...

And of course artificial needles and golden beads!

It remains only to put the rings on the napkins.

But I suggest not to stop there! In addition to the rings, I made a small interior composition from the same materials that were used to decorate the rings.

That's all! A set of decorations for the New Year's table is ready!

Serve and enjoy ;)

Creating such a set of decorations for the New Year's table does not take much time and does not require special skills - easy, fast and beautiful!

Please yourself and your loved ones with a festive, author's table setting. And if you prepare such a gift for friends or relatives, then for many years on New Year's Eve, it will serve as a source of good mood, bring aesthetic pleasure and remind you of your warm feelings and love!

Everything on the table should be not only tasty, but also beautiful. And you don't have to wait for the holidays! Napkins, for example, are always needed, so why not decorate them with handmade rings? The quartblog has collected 10 master classes of different levels of complexity: from unpretentious beaded rings to fresh flower specimens.

1. DIY napkin rings from toilet paper rolls

A wonderful example of recycling materials.

Complexity: 1

materials: toilet paper rolls, twine, glue, ready-made flowers, beads and seed beads.

You can experiment with the fabric: perhaps linen napkins with a rough texture will look even more interesting than just white ones. By the way, if you choose flowers in pastel colors, take dense ribbon lace instead of twine, and pre-paint the sleeve to match the lace, you will get shabby chic rings.

2. wire rings

Interesting and simple rings, which will fit almost any serving, if you change the wire and stone.

Complexity: 2

materials: wire, stones, thin pliers (with an elongated “nose”), something oval of a suitable diameter (to wind the wire).

3. Name rings

These are supposed to be Thanksgiving rings, but they're actually useful for any occasion where there are a lot of people around the table.

Complexity: 1

materials: raffia (natural fiber from palm leaves) or jute, wood tags, chalk or a special marker, paint that can be written on with chalk.

You can tie small scrolls with wishes or phantoms to raffia if the holiday is for children.

4. Rings of beads

This is a christmas master class, but again, the idea is universal.

Complexity: 1

materials: wooden beads, wire, ribbon.

And again, we suggest trying different versions: for example, stringing not ordinary beads, but tied or metal ones. If you take beads with letters, you will get funny personalized rings.

5. Rings with fresh flowers

Complexity: 2

materials: scissors, flowers, teip tape (floristic tape).

You don't have to be a professional florist to make napkin rings with miniature bouquets. On the weddingbee blog you will find step by step photo instruction and description if you read in english. Here, too, you can give free rein to your imagination and make different bouquets for each guest.

6. Shabby chic ring

Complexity: 1

materials: rings (wooden or plastic), paper or fabric flowers and leaves, round base.

It’s easy to do, but it’s better to think over the composition in advance: try on and apply elements until you get the way you want. Try gluing an angel instead of a flower and sew a few small pearl beads to the lace - you get a festive option.

7. Aluminum rings

This lesson is already more difficult, although neat needlewomen can handle it.

Complexity: 3

materials: thin sheets of aluminum (but thicker than foil), paper, glue, a figured hole punch that can work with metal.

8. Delicate rings

Rings made according to the principle of "nothing more".

Complexity: 1

materials: lace, wide jute braid, threads, glue, pins, thin and thick paper.

If your napkins are thicker than in the picture, you can use toilet paper rolls. The basis of braid and lace will look interesting with fresh flowers - try to combine two master classes.

Complexity: 3

materials: felting wool, felting needles, felt, threads, real acorn caps, floral cord, braid.

Of course, felting wool is not so easy, but very pleasant. Small dense acorns - this is what you need for training. When you learn, try to dump, for example, strawberries - you get summer rings.

Dare! And may patience be with you!

Napkin rings: photo and how to make

From paper and cardboard sleeves

You can not be particularly smart, but simply paste over the cardboard ring with beautiful paper. It can be any colored paper, gift wrapping, pieces of old wallpaper, foil.

How to do

  1. On a cardboard roll, you need to mark with a pencil sections of 4 cm wide.
  2. Cut the roll into pieces according to the marks.
  3. We cut blanks from paper: the width of the paper strip should be twice as wide as the cardboard ring.
  4. We put the ring in the middle of the paper strip and glue it.
  5. We wrap the edges of the paper and glue on the inside of the ring.

From burlap

In the same way, rings can be made from any fabric, and even now fashionable burlap.

Instead of cardboard, caps from thermal curlers are quite suitable if you have such a miracle for creating beauty on your head.

We paste over the lid with burlap, and decorate it with lace on top.

From twine

We wrap the prepared cardboard rings with twine: first we glue one end of the rope inside the ring, carefully make a tight winding and fix the other end.

We decorate as soon as fantasy tells.

fabric rings

A beautiful decoration for table napkins can be sewn from pieces of fabric and made with button fasteners. In this case, hard rings for the base are not needed.

Rings with artificial flowers

We take the rings for the curtains, wrap them with a narrow braid (putting the edges on the glue) with the help of a glue gun we attach an artificial flower.

Bead rings

To make a simple do-it-yourself napkin ring, an ordinary wire is suitable, on which you need to string bright beads. Twist the ends of the wire with pliers.

knitted rings

And of course, I could not pass by knitted napkin rings. It was these ideas that became the inspiration for writing this article.

A napkin rolled into a tube can be decorated with a strip of knitted lace, as well as with a fabric. In this case, it is not necessary to carry out a fastener with buttons, because the knitted fabric stretches easily.

But even more beautiful are crocheted rings like openwork napkins.

For the base, you can cut off a narrow circle from a plastic cup, first tie it around the entire perimeter with cotton threads, and then knit a half ring according to the pattern.

In order for the rings to keep their shape well, they will need to be starched in a saturated solution.

Napkin Ring Decorating Ideas

We see in the photo decoration with buttons, sequins, paper butterflies, felt and knitted flowers,.

Then, if you, like me, like to surprise guests, then this master class can be useful to you. Today I will show you how you can give the table brightness and sophistication. We will make napkin rings - a small attribute of the festive table that will greatly decorate your evening and make the table truly elegant.

Ready to get started?
Prepare the necessary tools and items:
- cardboard tube
- satin fabric
- glue
- lace
- pencil
- ruler
- scissors
- threads
- needle
- beads
- decorative ribbons

First you need to decide on the width of the ring. It all depends on your desire, the width can be from 3 to 6-7 cm. I will make 5 cm. We measure 5 cm with a ruler and cut off the ring. It will be more convenient to cut it with a knife, but I cut it with scissors.

We measure a segment of the atlas with a length equal to the circumference of the ring + 5 mm for the allowance, and a width twice the width of the ring.

Glue Moment Crystal, I glue one edge of the satin on the inside of the ring. This is a little awkward to do, but be patient and glue the fabric evenly. Instead of Moment glue, you can take a silicone gun. This, as they say, to whom it is convenient.

Then I carefully glue the second edge of the fabric to the inside of the ring. If the seam is not very neat, you can glue the tape on top. But this is optional. I do not do this. This is how the ring turned out.

We measure the lace. Its width is 5 cm, which is just what I need, the length is equal to the circumference of the ring + 5 mm for the allowance.

I dot the glue on the edges of the ring on the front side and carefully glue the lace.

Now we need to close the lace joint. To do this, we make a bow of ribbons. I have a chocolate-colored satin, so I will take chocolate and cream ribbon. We measure a piece of chocolate-colored tape with a length of 10 cm. Bend the tape in half, measure the middle and glue the ends of the tape to the fold of the tape.

We do the same with the cream-colored ribbon, but we measure it 2 cm shorter so that the bow is smaller.

We glue a white bow on a brown one and sew a bead with threads. Here is the finished bow.

Glue the bow along the lace joint onto the ring. The ring is ready, side view.

There are many serving options. Here are 2 of them.

And there can be many options for making the rings themselves. It all depends on what exactly you find in the bins at home. Here, for example, rings made according to the same principle as described in the master class, but using a different lace and contrasting bows. The width of the rings is 4 and 3 cm.

These rings are also pasted over with lace, but with a different texture. Under the lace, the ring is glued with ribbons.
