Weaving rugs from woolen threads. How can you knit rugs with your own hands from threads? Moss rug
Rugs have never gone out of style. They changed, adapted to new trends, but they were and will be. While the house will be designed to give comfort, cozy rugs will lie on its floors. You can buy majestic designer products.
And you can see how designers look for inspiration in history, and turn to needlework. You can buy an imitation of a homespun rug. And you can make a rug with your own hands. It's not difficult at all.
And it has a double benefit: the closet is unloaded from old things, and the house acquires a bright accessory. For a couple of evenings, you will give your tired hands after a hard day's work the joy of a soft touch.
And how much children love bright rugs, it’s not even necessary to say.
There is such a phrase "zealous hostess." With such a hostess, nothing is wasted. And her house is always a full bowl thanks to ingenuity and hardworking hands. Take a close look at your home: where are the extra things that can be recycled into new and beautiful ones?
Floor mats are a great chance to give a second wind to things that have served you for years.
Give them a chance to be with you for a few more years! Rugs are very easy to weave. And it is not necessary to have any devices and machines. Only fabric, thread and needle.
Let's look at the many options for rugs, those that you can do with your own hands without spending a lot of materials and time.
Famous do-it-yourself nodular rugs
For work we need:
Mesh for carpet (we buy in a needlework store or in a hardware store). Nets are different. We buy large-mesh, it is more convenient and faster to work with it.
A thick crochet hook that should fit freely into the mesh.
Knitted tapes.
Where can I get knitted stripes? Of course, in the closet with old things! Carefully sort out the summer wardrobe of the whole family. All knitted T-shirts, unwearable for various reasons - in business! Let's give them a second chance. We rip the T-shirts at the seams and cut strips of five centimeters wide from the details.
How much do you need? A lot of. Up to twenty T-shirts may be needed. If you are lucky to find so many things of the same or similar colors, you were born under a lucky star. Because professional designers are not too lazy to attack second-hand stores. Shredding T-shirts long and tedious. It is not necessary to follow the ideal line. The main thing is to bring this boring activity to the end.
Sliced? Now turn on your favorite movie, which you know by heart enough to enjoy looking at it with one eye, and cut the strips into pieces of twelve or fifteen centimeters.
It will take just enough time to watch a comedy. It remains only to scroll through these beautiful shreds in the washing machine. You can even without any detergents. Just in the water. As a result, they will take on the appearance of tubular pasta, which should give the rug a mysterious design look.
Lyrical digression: as an option, you can use non-knitted items. The main thing is that the fabric is soft and does not crumble. For example, old terry towels. True, such strips do not twist into a tube.
Well, now comes the most interesting part - the carpet weaving itself! We sit down comfortably, arrange a net on our knees, put a box with “pasta” on the left, and a hook in our right hand. At a distance a little more than a meter, we put a box of chocolates from those that we rarely allow ourselves. And we agree with ourselves that every hundred knots is crowned with eating one candy. Believe me, they will taste fabulous!
It is more convenient to start from the center. We put the first “pasta” under the grid, pull both ends outward with a hook. And we tie a knot tightly with a brace on the nylon wall of the cell. This is an elementary technique, you have done it thousands of times.
We also stretch the second strip and tie it side by side. And we move, preferably in a spiral, until there is no empty space left. If the pasta ran out earlier, make more blanks, or just cut the mesh.
For the first time, it is better to knit a rectangular rug. The next one can be round or oval, you can even play with colors. Just do not get carried away excessively, do not leave the family without clothes!
Do-it-yourself rug from "t-shirts"
And another option for a T-shirt rug. We make blank strips as mentioned above, but do not tie them to the grid, and the grid can not be used. And any fabric, which will be referred to as the "base". On this base we glue rows of double-sided tape. And already on the adhesive tape, on each row in turn, we put the “pasta”. We're trying to make it smoother. Laid and stitched in the middle. They unfolded the already sewn row, put on a new one, stitched it. The process looks something like the photo.
The rug turns out to be indistinguishable from the same, but knitted with knots. And it has not yet been proven by science which way is easier and faster. The second one is probably the thicker one.
When everything is finished, you can mow your rug like a lawn. And you can leave the natural shaggy.
Homemade rug for the hardworking
From any durable fabric such as raincoat fabric, a considerable number of circles are cut using a template. Inside each we put a piece of padding polyester and, after stitching it with a thread along the diameter, we pull it together. It will turn out such an elastic ball. Threads, of course, we use kapron.
Then we sew the balls together, attaching each new one with several strong stitches to the previous ones.
It can be in rows, in a spiral, in random order ... Children love such “pimple-shaped” rugs very much - it’s nice to walk on them barefoot.
The oldest, most famous way is the so-called "grandmother's rug".
Today you can call it a "country-style rug." The fabric is cut or torn into strips, and these strips are woven into colorful braids. And the pigtails are laid in a spiral and sewn with large stitches using a large needle and thick thread.
A country-style rug will look very elegant if you choose a monochromatic fabric for it. And it is not necessary to twist the spiral at all! You can cut wide strips, weave large braids, lay them next to each other, and secure them well.
Knitted rug
In America, their own method of weaving from knitted remnants was widespread. Stripes of knitted items were wound into balls and knitted with a thick crochet chain of air loops. Then the multi-meter chain is twisted into a spiral and stitched. American grandmothers did not weave rugs, but huge carpets in this way. It took more than a month for one such instance. This is what American needlewomen do today, creating carpets in the style of the 60s of the last century. But the result is worth it.
The only drawback is that the Beloshveyka household sewing machine will not pull such a thick fabric! You need a special industrial or do a manual seam. A little slower, but the seam can be made deliberately decorative, which will make the rug beautiful to the point of impossibility.
You can get creative with this method and combine several small rugs together into a composition. The main thing here is to choose the right colors. Such a rug will fit into the most modern interior.
Using the spiral principle, you can give a second life to several old sweaters. If you cut the strips across, they will roll themselves into tubes. It is necessary to carefully sew the strips together into one long one, then lay and stitch.
And you can use not ready-made things, but the remains of threads. Knit a scarf ten centimeters wide and ten meters long from them. If the last loop in each row is knitted as a purl, the fabric will twist itself into a thick “sausage”. We twist the spiral, and sew!
And you can immediately knit a spiral, grabbing and knitting the extreme loop of the finished fabric.
So, taking the classics as a basis and including creativity, you can do with your own hands a lot of beautiful, comfortable and functional rugs for your beloved home. Turn on!
If you're looking to create a rug out of pompoms, fabric scraps, rocks, or trash bags, then you've come to the right place. A developing mat for a child, looking at the photos and description, is also easy to do.
We make pompoms with our own hands, turn them into a designer thing
Gentle, pleasant to the touch, you will get a rug made of pompons, created by yourself.
Here is a list of what you will need to get started:
- yarn (for a thing of this size you need 10 skeins);
- mesh for carpet or construction;
- scissors;
- ruler.
From the cellular plastic mesh, cut a piece of the desired size. This pom-pom rug was made on a square base with sides of 1 meter.
Funny and interesting are rugs in the form of animals. To make this, you can cut out a grid in the shape of a lying animal - with a body, head, tail, four paws, cut out a rectangle, decorate it with pompoms, and knit the rest of the body.
Yarn pompoms are made in several ways. For example, to decorate hats, they are made on two cardboard forms cut out in the form of identical wide rings. Then the pompoms are round. For our rug, they do not have to be very voluminous, so here's how to make a pom-pom out of yarn in this case.
We wind the thread around 4 fingers folded together in several rows. We remove the resulting workpiece from the hand, wrap it with the free end of the thread in the middle, tie it into a knot. We cut the threads on the right and left to make a kind of bow, and slightly pull on the free thread - the “tail”, which is in the middle, so that the workpiece takes on a rounded shape. We do not cut off the "tail", it will still be useful to us.
How such pompoms are made, the photo of the phased work demonstrates clearly.
Create several blanks from threads of different colors. Here's what you get.
Starting from the corner, we tie our pompoms to the base. To do this, put the thread between the cells and tie it in a knot from the inside out. To secure the pom-pom more securely, you can pull the thread several times through adjacent cells.
To achieve the now fashionable ombre effect, use the yarn of the presented shades. Then first tie dark blue pompoms and gradually lighter ones.
After you attach them all, you will have such a beautiful pom-pom rug.
You can put it by the bed or hang it on the wall.
Patchwork rug
If you don’t have yarn or want to create a free item, then consider a more budget-friendly option. For him, you can use scraps of fabric, old clothes. Then you will get a similar patchwork rug.
For him you will need:
- rags (fabric, old fabric clothes);
- scissors;
- hook.
Try to make the strip longer. Then there will be fewer knots on the patchwork rug. Immediately roll the resulting cord into a ball so that the thread does not get tangled.
You can use a fabric of several colors, but wind it into different balls.
During work, when you need to tie the threads, bend the edge of one in the form of a loop, put the end of the second inside and tie the first with a knot.
Knitting is carried out with a large hook. First, make a loop at the end of the thread, insert the hook into it, pick up the adjacent section of the thread with the hook and pull it through the loop. Knit a few stitches in this way. Fold the resulting chain into a ring. Pass the hook through the first loop and start knitting the second row. So, in a circle, knit the entire patchwork rug.
After finishing work, mentally praise yourself for being such a needlewoman, although all the people who come to the house will celebrate this.
If you want such a butterfly to show off on the floor, then start knitting a carpet from the center of one wing, creating an oval shape. In this case, it is raspberry. Then trim with blue fabric. When knitting the edges of the wings, make them concave on one side, as shown in the photo. In this case, a tape cut from a yellow cloth was used for this.
Do the same for the second wing. Then tie the body and antennae of the butterfly from black ribbon. Sew it with insect wings.
From scraps of fabric, rags, you can make another carpet. It is fluffy and looks bulky.
The second life of old things
For such a product, even battered things are suitable. From places untouched by time, you will need to cut small fabric ribbons. Such a patchwork rug, made with your own hands, turns out to be very effective. It will be pleasant for the legs to sink into the pile of fabric.
To make this thing, you need:
- fabric or things (it is better to use knitwear);
- base mesh;
- hook;
- scissors.
Glue the edges of the mesh with masking tape on both sides around the perimeter.
To create such a doormat, use a special carpet hook. If you did not find this on sale, then you can take the usual knitting.
Attach patches as follows:
- Thread the hook into the grid cell, take out its bent part through the adjacent hole.
- Crochet the center of the ribbon, previously folded in half.
- Thread both ends of the ribbon into the loop formed with a hook or hands.
- Tighten the piece of fabric well.
Start weaving the stripes from the corner of the carpet, horizontally. Thus, do all the work. From the inside, the rug should turn out like this, without knots.
And on the front side - fluffy and voluminous.
How to weave a rope rug
Such an openwork product can be created without even having a hook. This rug is hand knitted with clothesline.
You can simply knit it in a circle, as described in the second example, or create a pattern. In the latter case, you will need a napkin knitting pattern. Here's how to crochet a rug.
And here you can make a rug out of a cord. For this, several blanks of different sizes are made. The cord is twisted in a spiral, and its fragments are glued. Then the blanks are fastened together with glue.
If you want to learn more about this process, read how to make a cord rug. For such a product you will need:
- felt for the base;
- glue;
- construction knife or scissors;
- rope or thick twine.
Cut out a circle from the felt, overcast it. If you have a thinner fabric, such as flannel, then fold it in half and work with a zigzag stitch.
We begin to twist the rope to make a cord rug. First, twist so as to create the central part of the product. We coat the coils with glue and apply them close to each other. Periodically apply a blank of fabric to the cord to understand when to finish the job.
Then cut off the excess rope and glue its tip so that the coils do not unwind. After that, apply glue in the form of "rays" on the wrong side of the rope circle, attach a fabric blank here and press it with your palms.
After the glue dries, you can use the rope rug for its intended purpose.
But what kind of product can be made from an ordinary clothesline, forming round fragments from it, and others in the form of shamrocks.
Knitting from threads with patterns
If you have never done this kind of work, the diagrams will help you to crochet a rug for beginners. If you want to create a round product, then pay attention to this tip.
Start knitting from the center. Crochet a chain of three loops, then connect them into a ring and knit the next (first) row, which will consist of 5 loops. Please note that in each subsequent row there are more loops (+1). Due to this, the rug increases towards the edges. The diagram shows that the addition is in each of the five sectors on the right. This is how a round rug is crocheted.
If you want it to be pentagonal, pay attention to the following finished product and its diagram.
First create 5 loops, close them in a ring. Then it executes:
- First row: 3 air loops (ch) lifting, 2 double crochet over the first air loop of the previous row, ch 2, * 3 double crochet, ch 2. Next, knit from * to * 5 times to form a pentagon.
- Second row: 3 lifting air loops, 2 s / n columns. above the first v.p. of the previous row, ch 2, 3 sts s / n, ch 1 Then continue knitting according to the pattern shown in the photo above.
Patterns for rugs may be different. If you want to create an oval product, then use the following.
Step-by-step photos of the work will help you tie such a necessary thing with your own hands.
Rug from bags
And here is another way to create original things.
At home, a large number of plastic bags often accumulate. Beautiful products are also obtained from this waste material. For this, we only need:
- packages;
- hook;
- scissors.
Then expand them. You will get cellophane rings that need to be tied together. To do this, we put the loop of one on the edge of the other, push it through and tighten it.
Now you need to wind the resulting threads into a ball, and you can start knitting a rug from the bags.
We put the hook into the ring-shaped tip of the thread and make the first loop.
Next, we knit a column of 5 loops, bend it in the form of a ring. We put the hook through the wall of the nearest loop, we throw a thread on it, we first stretch it through the first loop, then we put the thread on the hook again and stretch it through the second loop. Thus, we knit further in a circle.
Now we gradually add loops, if this is not done, you will get a knitted hat. Although it can also be made from plastic bags, but another time.
Additions must be uniform. To do this, visually divide the knitting into 5 parts and at the end of each 5th part from the last loop, knit two, not one new loop.
Do-it-yourself developing mat
If you want your child to know the names of vegetables and fruits from infancy, then do this useful thing for him. Use a soft, thick cloth. Then the baby will be comfortable on such a rug not only to play, but also to crawl.
In order to sew a developing rug with your own hands, you need:
- a large piece of felt and several small pieces of other colors;
- scissors;
- fringe;
- threads;
- Velcro.
From pieces of different colors corresponding to a particular fruit, vegetable, cut them out. Sew Velcro on the reverse side and place the appliqué on the rug. Then the baby will be able to tear off fabric fruits and vegetables and attach them to another place on the rug.
You can also sew any other developing rug for children with your own hands. Below are some examples.
It is very important to remember that small objects are sewn firmly and securely so that the baby cannot tear them off, and the craving for the knowledge of the child does not turn into a tragedy.
This applies, for example, to attaching buttons to a fly agaric. They are needed so that the child develops fine motor skills by touching and twisting these objects.
Such a product can accommodate a whole city or part of a village. Then the child will get acquainted with many objects surrounding him, learn how trees look, what a rainbow is, how it rains. It can be imitated with the help of ropes sewn to a fabric cloud.
Today you learned how to sew, knit, weave a rug from various materials. But this topic is very multifaceted, even stones, centimeter tapes, corks are used to create such things. So choose which product you like best, start exciting creativity, and photo and video materials will help you. Good luck in a pleasant and interesting work!
There is no need to explain what the carpet is for in the house. He quietly and imperceptibly entered the dwelling of a person, became a real stronghold of warmth and comfort. This yarn product has an ancient and rich history. An interesting fact: archaeologists believe that a person first laid a fur skin on the floor, and only then guessed that it could be put on the body. In the East, in the countries of Europe, for centuries, the carpet was considered a symbol of prosperity, and sometimes an object of art, because its manufacture required a long and painstaking manual labor of craftsmen.
Today, resourceful needlewomen weave, knit from threads, sew rugs from rags or old things with their own hands, and all this with minimal cash outlay, and sometimes for nothing. There are many ways to make a masterpiece of carpet weaving at home, one of the simplest is to weave a rug from threads. Do you want to decorate your home with an exclusive fluffy rug? We offer several simple master classes of home needlework.Cozy fluffy rug
To make a soft carpet that can adequately decorate your home, you will need a carpet canvas or fillet net. Such a knotless basis is traditional. It is better to use canvas, tarpaulin mesh, burlap or matting. Synthetics, wool or silk can become electrified and slip on a smooth floor. Carpet canvas can be bought at the store, as a rule, it is sold in rolls 1 m wide. Threads are required for the decorative part. You can use any leftover yarn, the more shades, the more fun and brighter the product will turn out. A hook with a foot is useful in the work, but you can also use a simple knitting one.
Shaggy rugs
To make it easier to work, we divide the whole process into several stages:
- First of all, you need to prepare the threads that will become the decorative component of the future carpet product. Cut the yarn into pieces of the same length. The "fluffiness" of the pile will depend on the chosen length of the threads.
- Let's proceed to the most time-consuming, but interesting stage - tying threads on the basis. With the help of a hook, we pass the thread through the canvas cell and tie a knot. So we “dive” with a crochet into each cell and fill each yarn.
Advice! The rug can be made plain, make an ornament or make a whole picture. For patterned weaving, you can use patterns for embroidery or apply a pattern directly to the base. When marking, you need to leave a couple of centimeters around the perimeter of the product for the canvas.
- At the final stage, you need to “comb” our rug a little so that it looks neat. In the process of tying the threads, their length may differ slightly from each other, so the pile must be cut. The principle is as follows: the shorter the pile, the clearer the pattern is visible.
Tips for beginners. Master class on crocheting a rug.
There are several ways to tie threads to the base. For example, using a special hook with a foot, you can make loops that do not need to be cut at the end of the work. In this case, the knot is still tied, but the ends of the threads are not pulled out to the end. For this technique, you can also safely use patterns for embroidery.

Pompom Shaun the Sheep
Another easy way to make a rug from threads with your own hands is from pompoms. Such rugs can have a classic geometric shape, or you can dream up a little and give the product the shape of an animal. This rug will be an original addition to the interior in the children's room.

The essence of the process is simple: you need to attach fluffy pom-poms made of threads to the base. How to make them?
There are several ways, each needlewoman can choose a more convenient one for herself:
- Tool. In shops for creativity, you can buy a special template, winding on which you get a ball of perfect shape. It can be used repeatedly.
- Cardboard template. The most common method for making thread balls is with cardboard circles. To do this, two “donuts” of the same diameter are cut out of thick cardboard. The principle is as follows: a thread is wound between them and wound tightly around the pattern. The thicker the layer of yarn, the more voluminous the ball will turn out. At the end, push the halves a little apart, tie tightly in the middle with a thread, and then cut along the edge.
- Fork. Ordinary cutlery can be a handy tool for making pom-poms. To do this, the thread is wound crosswise on the teeth, and then cut on the sides. The result is a dense, but miniature pompom.
Pompom on a fork
To make a rug in the shape of everyone's favorite cartoon character Shaun the Sheep, you will need white and black wool blend yarn, mesh or fabric for the base, scissors and decorative eyes.
The algorithm is the following:
- On the cardboard we draw a pattern in the form of a lamb, carefully cut it out. You can use a ready-made template or draw it yourself. We transfer the template to a fabric or mesh, cut it out. The edges can be immediately processed - hemmed or crocheted.
- Let's prepare the "wool" of the sheep. In any convenient way, we will make pompoms from threads, white ones for the back, and black ones for the paws and head of the ram.
- We begin to fasten the workpieces.
Advice! If the product is on a grid, the pom-poms are simply tied, and if the base is fabric, then the pom-poms are sewn on. We make sure that the balls are located tightly to each other, so the rug will turn out to be more fluffy.
- When all the balls are fixed, we sew eyes to the muzzle. A beautiful and fluffy rug for the nursery in the form of a cheerful lamb is ready.

In a similar way, you can make a rug in the form of a juicy watermelon, a multi-colored butterfly, the sun or your favorite cartoon character, decorating the children's island in the house in an original way.

Fantasy is the engine of progress in creativity. Using the ideas of experienced craftswomen, you can make luxurious home decor from the most ordinary things. Interestingly, many needlewomen have made the production of rugs with their own hands from threads not only a favorite hobby, but also a way of home business. Making interesting and simple crafts can be used as motor skills lessons for kids, turning the process into an exciting family game.
How to quickly make a lot of pompoms
Pompom rug
Master class rug.Shaggy rug
To get started, you will need:
Scissors
Fabric (I use fleece, but old t-shirts will work too)))
Rope or plastic mesh with a cross section of not more than 3 cm.
And of course the hands.
Cut the fabric into strips, 1 cm wide, 12-15 cm longAnd we start knitting knots.
If you want a not very thick rug, rarely knit knots, for a thick rug, knots should be knitted on each side of the grid square and in the corners
If you want a round rug or an oval one, it is better to cut the mesh immediately to the desired shape.
By combining colors you can achieve extraordinary results.
My latest creation.
Bath mat lawn.
And this rug is made in the classic technique of circular crochet. Detailed photo tutorial attached)
And let's sew a rug for the boy? It consists of a blanket-machine and a blanket-trailer, they are interconnected with Velcro, which is very practical for a family in which two tomboys grow up.
I also love this rug for the bathroom. It is sewn with ruffles.
And for a nursery, this one, sewn on a typewriter, is suitable
And how do you like this "mat" from an ordinary rope? This idea seemed very interesting to me) In addition, you can use such a carpet for knitting.
Remember we already have? but after all, according to a similar scheme, you can create such beauty!
That's just the template is a little different, you will find how it's done in the pro topic)
Here is such a rug of absolutely any width and length (within reason, of course) can be woven according to the proposed
This is a knitted rug. Everything is simple as ordinary crochet, only instead of yarn there are thin (about 1 cm) strips of knitted fabric. The strips are cut in such a way that they stretch. Try to cut the strips as long as possible, with a snake.
This rug is also woven from strips of knitted fabric, again - old T-shirts))
We cut the T-shirts into strips 5-7 cm wide, twist them into a flagellum immediately wrapping them with a strong thread with approximately the same interval of turns. We fold the strips in two or in half, depending on their length, and sew the flagella together. If necessary, the length of the tourniquet can be increased by simply applying strips.
As a result, we sew all the paired stripes together. Kant sewn at will
Wow, what a lot of work! Cut, twist, tie and sew .. but it's worth it, the rug made of knitted fabric looks simply charming))
I just found a photo of the original fluffy rug, I would even say that it is somewhat glamorous
And it's very easy to make! First you need to crochet the grid, always with cells. And then, along the contours of the cells, you need to knit up rows of double crochets. By placing these rows in a certain order, you will get a chic rug with ruffles)
Well, and another very warm rug made of non-standard material: a cork rug!
Where can I get so many corks, you ask? Just don't throw away the wine corks) When you have enough of them, cut each one in half lengthwise.
Then lay the corks cut side down on the checkered paper to make sure the edges are even, which can be trimmed with a knife if necessary.
As a basis for a cork rug, you can use thin rubber or special anti-slip rubber. We glue the corks with hot glue.
Very fluffy rug made of threads! Remember this one?The technology of their manufacture is very similar - it takes a lot of time and attention, but the finished product will delight you with its softness and tenderness)
First, we need a base to which the threads will be sewn.
anfissaa, I propose to take a look at another, very easy-to-make, fluffy rug made of threads, only it is no longer sewn, but woven, or something)) In general, the knots fit)
Two more examples of knitted rugs, without diagrams, but very clear)
For the first rug, you need to knit strips of a certain length, which are then twisted and stitched or crocheted around the perimeter with a series of single crochets along the very edge.
The second rug - circles sewn in one plane
For some reason, there are few rugs that are knitted. They undoubtedly turn out thinner, but sometimes they are much more beautiful than those carpets and paths that are connected in other ways)
And this is a wooden rug) Suitable for a corridor, porch or gazebo. You need to take planks of the same length and drill holes in them, into which to stretch the rope and that's it!
Do not know what to make a carpet or soft bedding from? Take a look in your closet, for sure there will be an old sweater that you have not worn for several years. Cut off the sleeves from it, but do not throw it away, you can make such insoles for shoes from them.
And from the largest part of the sweater you will get a rug, just decorate it with embroidery, appliqué and tie the edge.
And this rug is knitted from a hemp rope, I would not refuse this in the bathroom - an excellent foot massage on a rough surface) Only depending on the rope, you need to try to find a very thick hook in the store, even in the photo you can see that it is somewhere around number 15 )
And this bath rug is knitted from .. plastic garbage bags) True, it is a very budget yarn, especially since one bag produces a ball of impressive size!
But such a rug can be made not only from scraps of felt, but also from the edges of denim trousers! Glue can be used not only thermal.
Prepare several large elements, and then combine into one carpet
And here is a very beautiful flower rug, it’s a pity to even walk on it, let it lie by the crib)))) And yet, such a rug can be a great basis for)
This is what the rug looks like from the inside
Wow, so many amazing ideas! Thank you so much, girls, I have direct inspiration for further work! Just a lot of all sorts of different old children's little things have accumulated, which you can’t get anywhere, so I’ll dispose of them =)By the way, if we talk about little ideas - I saw such a miracle - not woven, not knitted, not flying, but .. grown. why don't you have an idea? Not for everyone, of course, and it’s difficult to do, but I would not refuse to walk on such a rug =)
This is a design development of some oriental designer Nguyen La Chanh. Here they can..
Here are some more bathroom rug ideas. All of them, as far as I understand, are crocheted.
This type of needlework allows you to create wonderful fluffy interior items that make your home cozier and more individual. A cheerful rug made by hand will not leave anyone indifferent! And my master class will teach you this, only at first glance, complex creativity!
In the photo you see my handmade rug "Sunflowers" (size 80x80 cm)
This rug is extremely easy to make. You can easily cope with its creation, you just need to learn how to tie knots. And then - it's a matter of time and patience.
You will need:
- carpet canvas (or some kind of dense mesh with square cells);
- any remnants of colored yarn;
- a special hook with a foot (if it is unrealistic to find one, you can use a regular knitting hook, but this is much less convenient
- Large mesh carpet canvas can be found in many craft stores and is sold by the meter in meter-wide rolls.
Threads for making a handmade carpet are preliminarily prepared. You need to cut them into segments of equal length. The easiest way to do this is to wind the yarn on a cardboard 7-8 cm wide, then remove and cut it from above and below (you can only from above or only from below, depending on the length of threads you need), according to the pom-pom principle.
Each thread is tied into a knot with a special hook for carpet weaving. These hooks come in different sizes, you need to choose the appropriate thickness of your threads. The hook passes between the cells of the canvas, catches the thread and tightens it into a special knot.
In the picture you see a hook for carpet weaving and a pattern for tying a knot.
On such a rug, a geometric ornament will look very good. In addition, a pattern for cross-stitching is suitable as a future pattern. The principle is the same - one cross is one knot. I created my patterns myself in the Pattern Maker for cross stitch program.
The reverse side of the rug looks like this (the pattern is very clearly visible there):
It is very important to make a preliminary calculation so that the number of cells in the scheme does not exceed their number on the carpet canvas. It is also necessary to leave a couple of centimeters of canvas around the perimeter for the hem of the finished handmade carpet.
The edges of the rug can be folded to the wrong side, sheathed with braid, or, for example, handed over the rug to a framing workshop (where they will go under the frame). I like to tie the side with a regular crochet hook.
In the process of weaving the carpet, the tails of the loops turn out to be slightly different lengths.
To align them, the finished carpet is sheared (optional). There is a special tool for this purpose, but I use ordinary clerical scissors. The shorter the pile, the "clearer" the pattern of the carpet.
Another rug made in the technique of nodular weaving.
It was made according to the same scheme, but the knot was already tied at the stage under the number 4 (if you look at the above scheme). Please note that in this case, the knot still needs to be tied (without pulling out the ends of the threads completely), otherwise the thread will unravel.
When finalizing this carpet, the loops were not cut.
