Original do-it-yourself topiary for Teacher's Day. Original do-it-yourself topiary for Teacher's Day Bookmark with a rose made of felt

School is coming soon, and I need time to make some. And today I have a tip!

I'll start with the treats. Don’t forget to look at the article where I showed how and what kind of crafts can be made from candies. This will give you some other gift options.

Bouquet of sweets

It’s not enough to just tie the candy wrappers by the tails. Let's see how to make more original compositions.
We will need:

  • Lollipops or chocolates;
  • Colored paper (can be corrugated and/or multi-colored fabric);
  • Bamboo sticks;
  • Glue or wire;
  • Wrapping paper for a bouquet;
  • Stand. It could be a flower pot with a piece of foam inside;
  • Scissors.

How to make a simple craft:

  • Wrap each candy in crepe paper petals. Secure the bottom edges of the wrapper with wire.
  • Insert the stick into the fastening area.
  • Wrap paper around the stick and tie it tightly with wire. Do this several times, moving down the stick.
  • Wrap green paper on top of the stick.
  • Glue the cut out leaves to the “stem”.
  • Spread the “petals”.
  • Place the “flowers” in the stand.
  • Decorate the composition with a beautiful wrapper on top.

You can do without a stand. Choose your option. You can complement the installation with toys, fresh flowers, etc.

Candy cake

Very similar crafts to what you and I have already made with candies. And the set of materials and tools is the same. I give.

You just need to pay a little more attention to the stand:

  • Choose how many layers your “cake” will have. Cut out a base from foam. It is better to use polystyrene foam, it is denser and will better support the load of treats. And it’s easier to cut out of it: polystyrene foam almost doesn’t crumble.
  • You may want to make a small hole in the top layer. It can be filled with all sorts of goodies. It will be a surprise for the one for whom you are preparing a gift.
  • Cover the base with colored paper. There's a little trick here. For example, brown paper is a chocolate cake. White – covered with a layer of “cream”... etc. The main thing is not to leave any area of the stand unpasted.
  • Bend the tails of the candies to one side, you can even glue them.
  • And glue the side where the tails are hidden to the sides of the cake.
  • Tie a ribbon over the candy.
  • Decorate your craft on top with paper flowers or ones made from candies, beads, small soft toys, bows, etc.

Topiary (sisal, napkins)

Materials:

  • Flower pots;
  • Sisal;
  • Napkins;
  • Fabric (paper);
  • Styrofoam;
  • Twine;
  • Gypsum;
  • Glue;
  • Scissors;
  • Tapes;
  • Stapler;
  • Branch.

Making flowers from napkins:

  1. fold the napkin in half twice
  2. secure in the middle with a stapler
  3. cut a circle with the middle where the staple is attached
  4. We bend all the edges of the napkin upward.

White napkins make very beautiful carnations. We do everything as described above, only using paints we tint the edges of the flower.

We glue our flowers onto a ball of foam plastic and papier mache. If you plan to make a topiary in the shape of a tree, then make a hole in the ball in advance and glue a stick.
We plant the finished tree in a pot. Pour gypsum (mix gypsum with water until it becomes creamy) into a pot and plant a tree. The tree needs to be fixed in the desired position until the plaster hardens.

Sisal topiary

  1. We make balls from sisal. Cutting pieces of different sizes and rolling them between your palms. In the video we made a hanging topiary. Flowers used as decoration were not from napkins, but purchased ones.
  2. Cut out and decorate a foam ball (you can buy a ready-made ball). Coat the ball with glue and wrap twine around it on top or simply paint it suitable color so that the white foam does not show through later. We make a hole, fill all the space (except for the hole) with flowers and balls. You can add bows and beads and other decor.
  3. We paint the twig or wrap it with ribbon. Insert into the ball.
  4. We decorate the flowerpot with a nice fabric and fill it with plaster (gypsum mixed with water until it becomes creamy.
  5. We assemble the structure: insert a stick into the plaster in the middle of the flowerpot, fill the space on top of the plaster with sisal balls and other decor.

Video with napkins (though viscose) and sisal.

Topiary magnet

We will need:

  • Magnetic tape;
  • Thick cardboard;
  • Scissors;
  • Glue;
  • Acrylic paint;
  • Felt;
  • Braid.
  • Decor: ribbon, sisal, beads, etc.

Making crafts:

  1. Cut out the topiary shape. That is, there is a pot at the bottom, then a twig, and a “ball” at the top. You can use cardboard or fiberboard as a basis. You can also buy blanks at a craft store.
  2. We fix the magnet at the back.
  3. Paint the middle part, the “twig”.
  4. On top part and glue felt, fabric, napkin, jute rope or other decorative material onto the bottom one.
  5. We decorate the “pot” with ribbon.
  6. Decorate the upper part.

Bath bombs

For such an original gift you need only 3 basic components:

  • 200 g soda
  • 100 g citric acid
  • 5-10 ml essential or aromatic oil of your choice
  • 2 ml of simple oil (this can be sunflower, olive, grape, sweet almond, jojoba oil or others, to choose from)
  • food coloring in desired color

Grind citric acid in a coffee grinder. Mix with soda, add oils. We measure the oils using a syringe without a needle. Add dye. If it is water-based, then add a little at a time so that the bomb does not fizz ahead of time. To get a bright color, it is better to first color the soda without citric acid and dry it. Only then introduce the remaining components.
Knead until the mixture becomes like wet sand. You can knead with your hands. It’s just better to wear gloves, as it may “pinch” the skin.

Press into shape and leave to dry for several hours.

The composition may include milk powder and cream, as well as sea salt or potato starch, which additionally care for the skin.

Candlestick

Choose the material for the candlestick. This will depend on the age and capabilities of the baby.

  1. For example, for older children it is not difficult to carve a structure out of wood.
  2. For small ones, you can simply fill the mold with plaster. And the form can be anything. This and autumn leaf, and a feather and a balloon.

  3. Can choose polymer clay. There's a lot of it too different options. For example, a house. We make the walls; when dry, we glue and mask the seams.

  4. Large shells are also a great material with lots of options. In order for the shells to become candlesticks, they need to be filled with melted wax and supplemented with a wick. You can take both wax and wick from an ordinary small round candle.

  5. Or we glue shells onto the base. The base can be made of cardboard, and the relief can be given with plaster, plaster, texture paste, papier mache or other material.
  6. Glassware, glasses and bottles. Jars can be decorated with paints (we paint the inside or draw a picture, decoupage with a napkin, rope, knitted lace napkin)
  7. From the can and sea salt. Prepare the salt, if you want to give your candle holders a tint, mix the salt with a small amount of dry food or cosmetic coloring. Thickly coat the jar with PVA glue and roll in salt.

  8. From coffee. The principle is the same as with shells - we make a base and glue coffee.

Topiary for Teacher's Day: master class (video)

With just a little effort and some creativity, you'll be able to make your own topiary that you'll love. to his teacher and will serve as a pretty good and unique gift.

On September 1 and Teacher's Day, when almost every student gives flowers to the teacher, there is literally no room left for bouquets in the classroom. Flowers stand in armfuls and quickly lose their attractiveness. A completely different matter is a gift for the teacher on September 1 in the form of a small decorative tree - topiary. The flower tree stands in its own pot, and the flowers in the topiary do not wither for a long time. How to make topiary with your own hands? Step-by-step master class with photos of topiary for beginners are offered by specialists from the company Florist.ru.

Topiary is beautiful tree, which has a perfect shape. Even in ancient Europe, gardeners loved to trim trees and they cut out all kinds of figures from the crowns of trees and bushes: animals, birds, labyrinths, people, etc. The fashion for topiary came to Russia a little later, along with the passion for park art.

Today, topiary is a small artificial tree that is easy to make with your own hands. A standard topiary consists of a pot, a trunk, a ball crown and decorative elements. Decorative design of the crown can be made from different materials- topiaries made from coffee beans, ribbons, paper, pine cones, and shells are popular. It would be appropriate to make a topiary as a gift for a teacher from flowers.

You will need:

  • flower pot
  • floral sponge piaflor
  • gerbera wire
  • stabilized moss
  • flowers: pink lisianthus, cream spray rose, hypericum
  • tree branches and rose stems
  • stretch film, anchor tape, tape, satin and openwork ribbon, tools

  1. Before we start creating topiary from flowers, we prepare necessary elements. We create the trunk of a future tree from gerbera wire: we take 5 wires, tape each one separately, connect it into one armful and wrap it with tape.

  1. It is not necessary to wrap the entire length of the trunk: we leave the wires in the upper part free, spread them apart and bend them in the form of a “fastening” for the tree ball.

  1. Now we move on to creating a base from a floral sponge. To do this, we make special pins/clips from wire in advance - we cut the rods using wire cutters into small pieces of 7-10 cm and bend them in half.

  1. We prepare a base ball from piaflora. We soak the floral sponge in water in advance, lowering it into the container, but without submerging it with our hands. We wait until the water is absorbed and the sponge “sits to the bottom.” We divide the soaked sponge into three parts, cut out a hemisphere from each, and temporarily remove one. We connect the two hemispheres into one ball with the flat part and secure them using prepared pins.

  1. The ball is ready, all that remains is to insert it into the barrel. Carefully place the circle on the trunk and secure it with anchor tape.

  1. In order to maintain moisture in the flower topiary for a long time, it is necessary to wrap the resulting base with stretch film. Wrap tightly, leaving no holes.

  1. Now we prepare the pot. We put plastic film in it, and place the remaining sponge hemisphere with the slide up. Carefully cut off the excess edges of the film.

  1. In order to give the topiary trunk a finished look, we add rose stems and tree branches to it. We place them on the finished ball, fasten them with anchor tape and insert them into the pot.

  1. We cut the flowers in advance at an angle of 45 degrees - this way they will fit into the oasis easier and will be better fed with moisture. Since the base is tightly wrapped with film, it will be difficult to insert plants, so we make holes under the flowers with a skewer or toothpick.

  1. We fill the crown, alternating roses with lisianthus, adding hypericum between them in two or three places.

  1. Finally, we decorate the base of the topiary - we place stabilized moss in the pot, securing it with prepared paper clips.

  1. Glue with double-sided tape satin ribbon to the potty.

  1. Add an openwork ribbon on top of the satin.

  1. We beautifully tie a bow from the same ribbons under the crown of the tree. Our gift to the teacher - flower topiary - is ready.
