In the 46th row we close the loops. A simple seam turned out to be rough and did not look very nice. The loop-to-loop seam will not allow the crown to be pulled off and the ears will stick out to the sides. We turn the hat inside out, take the thread that was knitted and begin to close the loops from the middle of the ear. I have 4 knitting needles so I can close from any side.

We find the central loop of the ear (an odd number of loops on the ear) In the photo, it is extreme on the left knitting needle. We need to move 1 stitch from the right needle to the left.
The three loops to the hook are the three center loops of the ear. We need to knit them together. We take a hook, hook these 3 loops and stretch a loop through them, knit it and tighten it tightly.

You are making an almost square product, so when you sew the hat on top, the sharp corners-ears will form by themselves. Selecting the corners, showing that these are precisely the sharp ears of an owl, is very simple.

7. We knit five more rows in a circle, after that we make another decrease in the sixth ... There should be 5 decreases in total, every 5 rows.

8. After the fifth decrease, try on the cap and, if it already fits you, then you can finish the job. But, since I often wear a ponytail, I knitted five more rows to make the hat higher.

9. Now we take the hook. Keep the needles with the loops parallel, the working thread should lie on the knitting needle that is closest to you. Insert the hook first into the loop on the far needle, then into the loop on the near one, hook the thread, pull it through both loops. The loops can be dropped from the needles. Then insert the hook in the same way, but pull the thread not only through the loops on the knitting needles, but also through the loop that we have on the hook. Thus, we close / connect all the loops on the knitting needles.
