For work you will need:

• 20 ice cream sticks,
• 1-2 thin skewers or toothpicks
• 3 wooden sticks for barbecue,
• 2 pieces of three-core cable, about 10 cm each,
• nail file with a sharp tip,
• hot glue gun.

Step 1: Assemble the cart.

From thick sticks for barbecue, we cut the bars with a nail file, approximately, as in the photo.

First we assemble the frame from the bars ...

The length is equal to the length of an ice cream stick, and the width is according to your desire.

We saw off the sticks along the width of the cart: 3 - on the front side and 4 - on the back.

4 whole sticks on the sides and 5 sticks on the bottom of the cart. We fix everything with hot glue.

Step 2: Wheels.

From pieces of a three-core cable, we need to pull out the middle wire.

We coat the remaining tails of the wire with hot glue and connect the cable into a ring.

And second...

We need to cut a skewer or toothpicks so long that a hole is left in the middle of our wheel, the diameter of a thick barbecue stick.

With a sharp knife or awl, we make, in place of the elongated middle wire, symmetrical holes into which we insert the “spokes” of our wheel.

You can, of course, leave it like that, fixing the wheels with hot glue .... The cart turns out to be quite neat.

You can just paint with acrylic paint. Naturally, first we paint, and then we fix the wheels.

I really wanted to give the cart an unusual texture with the help of a single-phase craquelure varnish.

Craquelure- this is an artificial creation of the "antique" effect - the effect of a cracked surface over the years.

Beautiful craquelure can be created using contrasting acrylic paints: light and dark, pale and saturated.

Surface cracking depends on how you applied the second coat of paint. When using a brush, cracks will be directed along the movement of the brush. To obtain a mesh, the paint is applied with a sponge or very small strokes.

At home, without a specialized varnish, you can use PVA glue, furniture varnish, raw egg white, gelatin, vinegar or washing gel.

The craquelure technique is very specific and an unprepared person may not be able to cope with it right away, so it is advisable to try your hand at a separate piece of wood.

Personally, for the experiment, I tried two methods: table vinegar and PVA glue. The effect would not be said to be very pleasing 2-3 points out of 5, compared to craquelure varnish. If you do not want to spend 120-150 rubles for a 50 ml jar of varnish, then why not try it. Of course, it is better to experiment on a small surface and not on the finished work.

As I did, I tell ...

Craquelure using PVA glue:

We cover the surface with paint of a contrasting bright color. We are waiting for the paint to dry completely. Then we apply PVA glue to it, without sparing. We are waiting for the glue to grab a little, and apply a thick layer of light-colored acrylic paint. Immediately start drying with a hair dryer.

It turns out quite a lot of cracks. We will get a natural crack, but such cracks will be thin and barely noticeable.

Craquelure with 9% Vinegar:

The rapid appearance of "wrinkles" can be achieved by applying 9% vinegar to the layer acrylic paint.

We paint the surface with acrylic paint and carefully apply 9% vinegar to the surface with a small sponge. The paint begins to spread like a craquelure.

Moreover, the cracks can be very wide, which is convenient when you want the second layer of paint (contrasting) to be clearly visible.

To be honest, I didn't really like the look of the cracks.

There are a few more elements with which you can "age" the surface.

Craquelure with liquid laundry gel.

Apply base color and let dry. Apply the gel with a brush. The thicker the gel, the better. Therefore, it is better to use concentrated. Apply heavily diluted paint on top with a brush or sponge.

Craquelure with egg white.

Apply one or two coats of latex acrylic paint and let it dry well. Then the egg white is applied with a brush in bold strokes, not paying attention to whether one stroke enters another or not. Waiting for the surface to dry completely natural way). Apply paint of a different color so that one stroke does not overlap another.

Craquelure using gelatin: 1 st. a spoonful of gelatin in a glass of cold water.

On the dried PVA, we apply gelatin that begins to solidify with a brush. But not quite frozen yet, so that there are no lumps. Dry for 10-15 minutes depending on the thickness of the layer. If with a hairdryer, then 3-5 minutes. We apply paint on a slightly dried gelatin. When it starts to dry out, it fades. If the gelatin has dried completely, then there will be no cracks. You can apply gelatin again without washing off the previous one.

You can apply paint over gelatin in any direction. Then be sure to varnish in several layers.

After all the experiments, I gave my preference to a specialized craquelure varnish. 🙂

I made this basket for a dance teacher. My son is still small enough to go to a regular school, but we have been going to a dance school for 2 years now. And his request was to do something that would be different from all other gifts, originality. And then mom had no choice but to get involved in the work. The son said: "Giving fresh flowers is already banal." How!!! Therefore, they began to invent a not banal gift. I took out all my stock of trash and began to think of what to make a basket of and found it. I decided to give second life to junk things again. I want to share my idea with you too. Might be useful for someone on the farm. And so let's start... There are 25 roses in the basket, each rose contains a truffle candy and there is a can of coffee in the middle.

I took a box of yogurt, because I liked the size (25 * 20), but you can take any container you need.

We take corrugated cardboard, from under the previously purchased equipment or something else. Cut out the bottom and 4 sides of the desired height. The height of my basket is 12 cm.

We buy barbecue skewers in the store (wooden or bamboo (they are cheap)) and cut them with the help of wire cutters (I took the tool from my husband) sticks of the desired length. I needed a little more than a pack.

And then she filled the basket with candy roses.

And then I decided to attach a butterfly to the handle, which I made a long time ago. I glued it on 2-sided tape.
