State holidays of the year. Holidays in winter in Russia

Nothing pleases a working person more than an official day off. Most of us do not even think about why we relax on a particular day, just enjoying another opportunity to stay at home, meet friends and have a great time.

We invite you to find out:

According to the production calendar compiled by the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation, in 2018, residents of all regions of the country will have 247 working days and 118 days off, including 8 official holidays:

Holiday

New Year

Nativity

Defender of the Fatherland Day

International Women's Day

Spring and Labor Day

Victory Day

Russia Day

Day national unity

Almost all holidays will allow you to relax outside the city, visit relatives or even organize a short trip, because together with the weekend we will have at least 3 days of rest in a row. The longest will be the 10-day New Year holidays (from 12/30/17 to 01/08/18). 4 days will fall on March 8 and May holidays.

In order for people to take full advantage of the opportunity to take a break from work, the ministry annually considers the transfer of holidays that fall on weekends, and in 2018 this practice will continue.

When and why are they planning to postpone the weekend in 2018

  1. The official holiday falls on a non-working day.
  2. There is only one working day between holidays and weekends.

You should not assume that the government decree is aimed solely at meeting the needs for rest, because scientists have calculated and proved that the postponement of holidays (which took place in past seasons and is planned in 2018) allows you to use working time more efficiently.

Thus, in 2018, for public and private companies whose employees work 5 days a week and rest on Saturday and Sunday, the following weekend transfers are relevant:

Important! Organizations that have Saturday as a working day cannot be guided by this rescheduling calendar, since for them some holidays fall on a working day, and therefore cannot be rescheduled.

Also, the mentioned rules on the postponement of public holidays will not affect those who work on a daily system or on a flexible schedule in 2018.

Short working days in 2018

Traditionally before official holidays Employers are advised to shorten the last working day by giving people the opportunity to leave their workplaces an hour earlier.

In 2018, these should be the pre-holiday days:

  • February 22;
  • March 7;
  • May 8;
  • June 11;
  • 31th of December.

When transferring pre-holiday days, the duration of working hours is preserved. This means that you have to work 1 hour less for such a day. But, in 2018, there are no such transfers.

It is also important to know that the transfer calendar compiled by the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation is advisory in nature. The final decision remains with the management of companies and enterprises, which must approve any change in the work schedule by appropriate order.

In our country, the Ministry of Labor is responsible for the schedule of days intended for leisure and work. It has already indicated the number of all holidays and working days, as well as weekends in 2018, coinciding with holidays.

The Russians are already waiting and will not wait for this schedule, because nothing can replace the joy that rest after working days brings. In addition, in our rhythmic age, we need to plan our lives, and for this we definitely need to know how we work and relax in 2018.

Weekend transfers

First of all, let's take a look at the weekend shifts that are expected in 2018.

Especially when it comes to loved ones and professional holidays. After all, you must admit, it’s nice to receive congratulations on your professional holiday.

The calendar for 2018 has 365 days, this year is not a leap year. Of these, 247 are considered official working days, and 118 are considered weekends and holidays.   • Russia Day will be celebrated for three whole days from 10 to 12 June;
  • Russia is a multinational country and National Unity Day also includes three days off - from November 3 to 5.

Of course, this is a lot of days off. In order not to lose working hours and make up for them, there is a decree “On the postponement of days off in 2018”.

It says that weekends are transferred in this way:

  • Saturday 6 January to Friday 9 March;
  • Sunday 7 January to Wednesday 2 May;
  • Saturday 28 April to Monday 30 April;
  • Saturday 9 June to Monday 11 June;
  • Saturday 29 December to Monday 31 December.

At sensitive enterprises, their own changes and amendments can be made within the limits of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation.

* Pre-holiday days, on which the duration of work is reduced by one hour.

The production calendar for 2018 shows the norm of working hours for months, quarters and 2018 as a whole with 40-, 36- and 24-hour working weeks, as well as the number of working days and days off with a five-day working week with two days off.

According to Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation (hereinafter referred to as the Labor Code of the Russian Federation) (as amended by Federal Law No. 35-FZ of April 23, 2012), non-working public holidays in the Russian Federation are:

  • January 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 - New Year holidays;
  • January 7 - Christmas;
  • February 23 - Defender of the Fatherland Day;
  • March 8 - International Women's Day;
  • May 1 - Spring and Labor Day;
  • May 9 - Victory Day;
  • June 12 - Day of Russia;
  • November 4 is National Unity Day.

The Labor Code of the Russian Federation established that if a weekend and a non-working holiday coincide, the day off is transferred to the next working day after the holiday. Thus, in 2018, days off are postponed:

  • from Sunday 4 November to Monday 5 November.

The exception is weekends coinciding with non-working holidays in January. In accordance with Art. 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Russian Federation has the right to transfer two days off from the number of days off coinciding with non-working January holidays to other days in the next calendar year. In addition, part 5 of this article allows the Government of the Russian Federation to transfer days off to other days for the rational use of days off and other non-working days.

Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated October 14, 2017 No. 1250 provides for the postponement of holidays in 2018:

  • from Saturday 6 January for Friday 9 March;
  • from Sunday 7 January to Wednesday 2 May;
  • from Saturday 28 April to Monday 30 April;
  • from Saturday 9 June to Monday 11 June;
  • from Saturday 29 December to Monday 31 December.

In accordance with the "Procedure for calculating the norm of working time for certain calendar periods of time (month, quarter, year), depending on the established duration of working time per week", approved by order of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia dated August 13, 2009 No. 588n, this norm is calculated according to the calculated five-day schedule working week with two days off on Saturday and Sunday, based on the duration of daily work (shift):

  • with a 40-hour work week - 8 hours;
  • with a 36-hour work week - 7.2 hours;
  • with a 24-hour work week - 4.8 hours.

The length of the working day or shift immediately preceding the non-working day holiday, decreases by one hour. Moreover, if a day off is transferred to such a working day, then the day off that becomes a working day is reduced by 1 hour. In 2018, working hours are reduced by one hour on the following days:

  • February 22;
  • March 7;
  • April 28;
  • May 8;
  • the 9th of June;
  • December 29th.

The norm of working time calculated in the specified order applies to all modes of work and rest.

An example of calculating the norm of working hours in December 2018 with a five-day working week with two days off (initial data: 21 working days, on December 29, the working day was reduced by 1 hour):

  • calculation for a 40-hour work week:
    (8 hours x 21 days) - 1 hour = 167 hours;

  • (7.2 hours x 21 days) - 1 hour = 150.2 hours;

  • (4.8 hours x 21 days) - 1 hour = 99.8 hours.

In 2018, 247 working days, including 6 working days reduced by one hour. Calculation of the norm of working hours for 2018 with a five-day working week with two days off:

  • with a 40 hour work week:
    (8 hours x 247 days - 6 hours) = 1970 hours;
  • with a 36-hour work week:
    (7.2 hours x 247 days - 6 hours) = 1772.4 hours;
  • with a 24-hour work week:
    (4.8 hours x 247 days - 6 hours) = 1179.6 hours.
