The text of the poem:

Sasha Cherny (1880-1932)
snow woman

Sparrows fight in the bushes.
The sun is shining, the snow is like fluff.
Curl in the cornflower blue sky
Round dances of snow flies.
Grisha is at home, by the window.
It's boring to play in the room!
Even, out, lazy cat
She went for a walk from the stove into the garden.
Nanny ironing mom's skirt...
"Grisha, Grisha, where are you going?"
He climbed into boots and a fur coat,
Hat in hand and let's go!

Hands in warm gloves
Snow squeaks under the shovel...
Snow on the forehead and on the cilia,
Snow tickles, snow laughs ...
The snow has grown like a shaggy mop,
Grisha runs around
That will beat the sides with a shovel,
That, puffing, rolls a lump ...
Fu, tired. A little more!
Eyebrows - two bunches of oats...
Eyes - coals, nose - potatoes,
And from the tree - hair.
That's so grandma! Admiration.
Grisha is dancing. "Ay-yes-yes!"
Sparrows in surprise
Scattered in all directions.
It's so warm in a quiet nursery
The windows were covered with snow.
blue eyed moon
Climbs out the window...
The wind is blowing over the roof...
Why can't Grisha sleep?
Get out of bed barefoot
(Ay, how slippery on the floor!)
And run around the room
Hurry, hurry to the glass:
Outside the window - icicles of ice ...
Terribly cold in the garden!
Baba, poor, does not sleep,
Blue and trembling.
Once! Get dressed Grisha - a moment.
Sniffing into the corner
Took in an armful
Jacket, grandfather's hat,
Old rug from the chest
two scarves,
Someone's flannel skirt
(What is there to really think!)
And quickly, quickly into the garden,
Through logs and potholes
Through the janitor Mongrel,
Through a slippery groove.
He ran and sat down with the woman:
"Here! Brought you an outfit...
Get dressed... Once and again!
Ten degrees now...
The wind is silent. Light in the garden...
Grisha wrapped the whole woman,
In a hurry, confused -
It doesn't matter, because she's warm:
There will be a skirt on the chest
Or a jacket behind...
"Goodbye! Sleep now."
Grisha march home - and through the door,
Ran along the corridor
Instantly undressed, soon, soon,
And, satisfied, - clap on the bed,
Sleep!

Note

For children. 1917. No. 2. S. 63-64. From ill. Re-Mi. Regarding this poem, a correspondence with K. I. Chukovsky has been preserved. In a letter dated January 3, 1917, Sasha Cherny writes: “I think that in the first stanza:

"The sparrows are fighting in the bushes,

The sun is shining, the snow is like fluff.

IN cornflower blue the sky curls

Round dances of the snow flies…”

- you should leave the "cornflower blue" sky and the "round dances of snow flies." Replacing - it will be insipid, like a multiplication table (“they curl in the light blue sky”? ..), and the image of both is simple, uncomplicated. They say for a thousand years: “pink” (from rose), turquoise, pomegranate, etc. If any seven-year-old girl stumbles, then any mother, aunt, grandmother, etc. will explain, and the image will fall in love and remain in memory, stronger than those rough and watery definitions stuffed with nursery rhymes. After all, otherwise you will have to reduce the entire poetic dictionary for little ones to a few words. So leave it like that." A few more remarks are contained in a letter dated January 16, 1917: “I was told that the Snow Woman was all typed in petit and without divisions. If it is still possible, I beg you to print it better without illustrations (leaving only a small one at the end) and go through everything in large print, and leave free space (line by line) between parts of the poem.

Born October 1, 1880 in Odessa, in the family of a pharmacist. The family had 5 children, two of whom were Sasha. Blond and brunette, "White" and "Black". And so the pseudonym was born. The boy became a high school student at the age of ten. But study was given to Sasha with difficulty, he was repeatedly expelled for poor progress. At the age of 15, the boy ran away from home, began to wander and soon found himself without a livelihood. His father and mother stopped responding to his requests for help.
