tiger cub

2010 - Year of the Tiger Chinese calendar, so a tiger sewn with your own hands will become not just a cute toy, but also a real talisman for life! It's not scary if you don't have time to sew a tiger cub by December 31, because the Chinese are celebrating New Year It's only March 19th on your calendar, so you still have time!

Now there are many types of artificial fur and fabrics for sale, but you need to correctly determine the amount of fabric you buy, because the tiger cub should be striped, and the stripes should be located in the transverse direction. Therefore, it is best to come to the fabric store with a pattern and figure out how the toy will be cut, taking into account seam allowances. It is desirable to choose a natural combination of colors, that is, the tiger cub should be red and black.

Tip: when cutting fur or fabric into stripes, you will face the problem of matching the stripes on the two pieces to be sewn. In this case, it is necessary to fold the patterns of these parts with each other as they should be folded when sewing. After that, you need to make a notch on each of the parts in the place where, in your opinion, the strips should converge. When cutting, these serifs are combined with stripes.

So, take the following materials:
- red-black striped fur with a short pile (you can take dense fabric striped);
- light red fur with a short nap;
- a small piece of red cloth;
- one black bead or button of medium size;
- white, green and black leather (artificial or natural) or two buttons for the eyes, matching in color and size;
- cardboard,
- filler (cotton wool, finely crushed foam rubber, buckwheat).

From striped fur, paying attention to the direction of the stripes (it is indicated on the pattern), cut out:
- head - 2 parts,
- ears - 2 parts,
- tail - 2 parts,
- body - 2 parts,
- feet - 2 parts,
- hind legs - 4 parts,
- front paws - 4 parts.

- an overlay on a muzzle - 1 detail,
- ears - 2 parts,
- feet - 2 parts,
- lower lip - 1 detail.

From the red fabric make the lower lip - 1 detail.

From leather, thick cardboard or white and black fabric, cut out and make eyes.
