Video: rules for tanning in a solarium

Modern solariums are considered a safe place to get a perfectly even tan, but sometimes hopes for beautiful colour The ladies' skins are not justified. Why can a girl be all red after a solarium, and what are the consequences of such phenomena?

Causes of skin redness after solarium

Red skin after solarium is a problem that many ladies face. Just yesterday, the tan could have been even and beautiful, but after another visit to the solarium, all efforts came to nothing. Why does this problem occur?

Firstly, redness of the skin after a long stay under UV lamps is a natural reaction of the body, but only if the girl did not apply special cream for Tan. This cream protects the skin from inflammation and redness, making the process of being in a solarium safe. This cream must be applied before each visit to the booth, otherwise the girl will certainly face serious skin damage. Scientists have long proven that frequent exposure to the sun or solarium without applying a special cream - the right way get skin cancer. That is why it is never worth taking unnecessary risks.

Secondly, the appearance of redness may be associated with excessive stay in the booth. It is believed that the first session in a solarium should last no more than five minutes. In the future, the period of stay can be increased, but it still cannot be more than 15 minutes. If, wanting to achieve a chocolate tan, a girl stays in the solarium for a longer period of time, she will definitely encounter unsightly redness and severe burning of the skin.

Thirdly, this problem will definitely become a headache for the girl if the standards for the proper functioning of the booth are not followed in the solarium. Available UV lamps have a certain operating time (about 200-300 hours). If the lamp is continued to be used after its expiration date, UV rays begin to have harmful effects on the skin. As a result, a person receives severe burns, which cause redness.

Due to the dishonesty of some salons, the customer should always check how long the lamps last and whether they can still be used. The salon administration is obliged to provide the client with all data about the equipment upon first request.

Ways to get rid of redness

The first thing a girl needs to do after redness appears on her skin is to stop visiting the solarium. Most likely, the cause of the redness lies in a simple burn. However, if blisters appear on the skin, and in addition, a person feels slight itching, you should immediately consult a doctor. It is possible that the cause of the redness is a serious allergic reaction.

Allergies occur quite often when visiting a solarium due to the dishonest behavior of employees. After each client, the solarium must be wiped with special solutions. If this is not done, subsequent visitors may develop skin and allergic diseases when they come into contact with the walls of the booth.

To reduce the redness caused by a simple burn, a girl needs to apply sour cream or kefir to her skin. These dairy products have a significant calming effect. They relieve redness, improve recovery processes, allowing the unpleasant consequences of visiting a solarium to instantly disappear.

Another great way to get rid of unpleasant consequences is to apply cucumber juice to the skin in 2-3 layers. You need to apply the juice with a cotton swab, then leave the composition for 10-15 minutes. After this procedure, the redness will gradually begin to subside, and the skin will look healthy again. The most important thing is to wash off this composition after use, since prolonged exposure to it can cause an allergic reaction. Of course, the more often such a composition is applied, the more effectively and quickly it will act on problem areas.

Regular aloe vera-based body creams often help relieve redness. Such creams soothe problem areas, returning the skin to its normal state. You can also use green tea for these purposes. Moisten gauze with steep green tea and wipe problem areas. Typically, this composition acts on the skin as quickly as possible, soothing and toning it.

You can also use medications. For example, Panthenol ointment effectively removes redness after solarium, helping to restore the skin to its natural, attractive color. For these purposes, you can also use a special ointment “Rescuer”, which soothes inflamed areas, removing any redness.

All of the above methods are relevant only for those cases when redness on the skin occurs due to a burn. If a girl experiences regular itching, the reason may be much more serious. For example, such itching in combination with the appearance of red spots may indicate the development of scabies or rubella. Such diseases can be transmitted to humans if the walls of the solarium have not been cleaned after previous clients. In the event of the development of such diseases, only special techniques treatments prescribed by a specialist.

Of course, use both folk and medications should only be done after careful consultation with a specialist. Sometimes, having discovered redness on the skin, a girl does not even try to understand the reasons for this phenomenon. That is why she uses all methods in a row, only worsening the condition of the skin. If strange redness occurs, you should consult a doctor who will find out the cause of the problem and prescribe the most appropriate treatment.

Redness of the skin after tanning - quite serious problem, which should be prevented by any available means. Staying in a booth for too long can ruin the condition of your skin and harm your overall well-being. That is why, when visiting a solarium, you must always adhere to the established rules, use a special cream and do not forget about the duration of the session. The tan, in this case, will definitely be even and brown without unpleasant redness.

Many girls experience red skin after a tanning salon, and often the cause of this problem is elementary and simple - non-compliance with the norms of visiting special tanning booths. Ignoring sunscreen, staying in a tanning bed for too long, or unscrupulous employees can all have unpleasant consequences for your skin. Any redness can ultimately turn into eczema and skin cancer, which means there is no need to treat the problem playfully.

When sunbathing on the beach or even in a solarium, you want to get a beautiful tan.

But sunbathing often turns into a real disaster when, instead of tanning, a distinct and unpleasant redness appears on the body, and the skin begins to ache.

How to remove redness from tanning from the face and body?

Why does the skin turn red after sunbathing?

If you notice redness on your skin after being in the sun, it means you have a sunburn. Yes Yes exactly! And all because you tanned incorrectly.

You may have been in the sun too long, at the wrong time, or did not use sun protection.

And as a rule, the skin of the face and décolleté are the first to suffer from excessive sunbathing, since the skin in these areas is the most sensitive.

How long will it take for the redness after sunbathing to go away? Of course, red skin will not stay with you forever - it will disappear on its own within one or two weeks, but not everyone is ready to wait that long, and therefore you can try to speed up the skin restoration process.

How to prevent redness?

After receiving a burn, your skin will begin to peel and hurt, in addition you will not receive good tan until it heals completely, but this is not a matter of one day.

In general, it is better to try to prevent burns and the appearance of beauty than to treat them later (especially since prevention will not take much of your time and effort).

What is needed for this?

  1. First, you must love and purchase tanning cream and body lotion, which you need to use before and after tanning. Such products are selected taking into account your skin type and the expected brightness of the sun.
  2. Secondly, for sunbathing there is a certain time when it is better to sunbathe and when it is extremely undesirable to do so. So in the morning hours (before noon) you will definitely not get either heatstroke or burns. If you were unable to sunbathe during the specified period, then wait until 16.00 - only after four o’clock in the afternoon the sun becomes less dangerous and hot again.
  3. Also try to avoid direct sunlight and, at least initially, sunbathe somewhere in the shade: this way your body will gradually get used to it. high temperatures, and the tan obtained under an umbrella or a special canopy will last longer.
  4. In addition, you need to tan gradually. For example, people with very pale and sensitive skin People are most at risk of getting burned within the first 30 minutes, especially if they are sunbathing in a very hot country. Try to spend no more than twenty minutes tanning on the first day of your stay on the beach, then, day after day, increase this time, because your skin will already get used to the sun, and this procedure will not result in unpleasant consequences in the form of redness.

How to get rid of redness on the face at home?

Is your face very red after being in the sun? Well, in this case, various salon treatments, but, alas and ah, they are not cheap.

That's why it's better to use home remedies - they save you money, and they're just as effective.

  • First of all, use a product that contains aloe. As you know, this plant perfectly soothes the skin and helps relieve inflammation. Even just aloe juice will do.
  • Another well-known remedy is yogurt and kefir. It is recommended to carefully apply any of these fermented milk products to the skin of the face and wait until it dries, after which the mass should be washed off with cool running water.

How else can you remove redness after sunbathing? In addition to the above natural remedies, why not prepare a homemade compress or mask? They are easy to prepare, and they do a pretty good job of eliminating redness (but, of course, not in one procedure).

So, there are several recipes for such remedies:

  1. Brew regular green tea (even tea bags will do), then cool it and then add some fresh aloe juice to it. Mix everything, soak gauze in the solution and make a compress, applying the gauze to your face. Keep this compress on your face for 20 minutes.
  2. The following recipe will help you quickly remove redness after sunbathing and whiten your skin. To prepare it you will need one fresh cucumber, which you must grate. Apply the resulting paste to your face for half an hour. For convenience, it is recommended to lie with a cucumber mask on the sofa or bed and not move, otherwise it will begin to slide off your face. After the specified time has passed, the mask should be washed off with clean cold water, without using any additional means (foam, soap, etc.).
  3. Equally effective for eliminating redness from tanning on the face is regular potatoes. Raw potatoes are cut into circles and then applied to the reddened areas. From time to time some circles are replaced by other, fresh ones. However, you are allowed to slightly modify this recipe: just grate the potatoes (also raw) on a grater and apply the resulting mass to your face. When the moisture from the mask is absorbed into the skin, you can wash the product off your face with water.
  4. Our grandmothers also knew about the benefits of vodka and used it to relieve inflammation and redness from the skin. In order for the product to help, wash your face with cool water before going to bed, and then apply a small amount of vodka to your skin. The next morning the result will be almost perfect - your redness on your face will noticeably decrease.
  5. If you have oatmeal in the house, then pour 4 tablespoons into 100 milliliters of boiling water, stir, leave the paste until it cools completely and apply it to the reddened areas of the face. After a quarter of an hour, the mixture should be washed off with cool water.

Ointments and creams sold in regular pharmacies will also help to quickly get rid of redness after a sunburn.

Some of the most effective and popular products are those containing panthenol, because it helps cool the skin and heals it well.

If you don’t want to touch the skin, even a light touch causes you pain, then buy a spray - it’s convenient to use, you don’t have to touch the affected areas, and it’s as effective as ointments.

As for ointments, “Rescuer” will come to the rescue: although this product is not one of the cheapest, it has a very good effect on damaged skin, relieving pain, soothing the skin and accelerating the restoration of its cells.

Methods for eliminating redness on the body

Unfortunately, redness can appear not only on the face, but also on other parts of the body - on the hands, in the décolleté, etc., therefore, you need to know methods that will help you eliminate such an unaesthetic problem in a short time.

For the most part, such methods are based on applying special lotions made from natural ingredients to damaged areas of the skin:

  1. Chop or twist the aloe very finely, adding sunflower or olive oil to it;
  2. Make cold mashed potatoes and add a small amount of sour cream to it;
  3. Grate one or more (if the affected area is quite large) raw potatoes.

You can also numb red areas after sunbathing and remove heat from them using homemade ointments:

  • mix vegetable oil and a few drops of sea buckthorn oil;

Before an important event, you decided to tan in the solarium, but did not calculate the duration of the session and overdid it? This happens to many girls, and in most cases it is due to failure to take precautions. In this article we will talk about how to prevent skin burning and what to do if your face still turns red after tanning.

Causes of redness

Everyone associates reddened skin after sunbathing with a burn. However, this is not the only reason for this skin reaction. There are also others, and if you don’t know about them, you can be treated incorrectly, which not only will not remove the redness, but will also worsen the condition. Let's sort it all out possible reasons and signs.

  • Let's start with the common one - a burn of the upper layer of the epidermis. It is characterized by redness, a strong burning sensation and a feeling as if the face is “boiling.” The skin is really hot to the touch, causing the applied cream or cosmetics to instantly “float.” Small watery blisters often appear from which ichor flows. After a couple of days, the skin begins to peel off.
  • Allergy to ultraviolet radiation. There are people who cannot be in the open sun at all, because their skin does not immediately react to it. in the best possible way. The signs of such an allergy are similar to a burn, but it differs in that it does not go away for a long time. If your face is burned in a solarium, the redness lasts for 1–2 days, but an allergic reaction can last up to 5 days or longer.
  • Allergy to sunscreens for skin or chemical components that are used to clean tanning beds. Yes, this also happens. Therefore, if you again and again observe a swollen red face after a solarium, even if you adhere to all the rules, then change your protective cosmetics or go to another solarium.

Prevention of burns

The tanning procedure in a solarium is absolutely harmless if all precautions are taken. Often we neglect certain rules, we want to tan quickly, but as a result we get completely burned. If you don't know how to protect your face in a tanning salon, remember the following:

  • The first times you need to start with a minimum session duration so that the skin gradually gets used to it. Even better, consult with a specialist who, based on the characteristics of your skin, will advise how many minutes and how often you should visit the solarium.
  • Do not neglect products with UV protection, especially for the face. However, tanning creams and lotions should not be used in the sun. The salon will offer you a number of products from which you can choose the right one. They will not only reduce the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation on the skin, but will also contribute to a more even and lasting tan.
  • The skin on your face is so delicate that even if you adhere to the first two rules, you still risk getting sunburned. To prevent this from happening, cover your face with cotton in the booth. paper napkin three minutes after the start of the procedure.
  • After the session, even if you do not feel any signs of burns, it is recommended to apply moisturizer to your face and entire body. The cream will help restore the water balance in the epidermal cells. It would be good to use special cooling sprays.

How to remove redness

No matter what, everyone, even avid tanners, experiences setbacks from time to time. If your face is burned in the solarium, you feel discomfort, and those around you mistake you for the squaw of the leader of an Indian tribe, then it’s time to quickly do something. Here are some good SOS recipes:

  1. Cooling procedures have worked well. Rub your face with an ice cube or apply a cold compress as often as possible. Wet the cloth, place it in the freezer for a few minutes, then apply it to the skin. Keep it on your face until the fabric warms up.
  2. Next, medicines based on Panthenol will help you. If the pain is so severe that you cannot apply cream to your skin, then use spray products.
  3. Among folk remedies, we can recommend low-fat fermented milk products. Kefir or natural yogurt without additives is best. You cannot smear yourself with fatty sour cream or oil, because it clogs the pores, which disrupts the oxygen exchange in the layers of the epidermis.
  4. Redness that is caused by an allergic reaction is treated with antihistamines. If nothing helps you, go to the doctor. You may have allergies. He will prescribe internal or external medications.

Rules for tanning in a solarium: Video

A solarium is an opportunity for everyone to maintain a beautiful tan all year round. But excessive enthusiasm for it is unsafe; burns, and very serious ones, are quite possible. Pharmacy ointments and folk remedies. But it’s better to avoid this by following the recommendations of cosmetologists regarding preventive measures.

Burning alive in a solarium, like in horror films, is unrealistic, but getting burns, and very serious ones, is quite possible. After all, the mechanism of tanning is similar to what is acquired naturally - ultraviolet light, entering the skin, stimulates cells to more actively synthesize melanin, which gives it a dark shade. The radiation source (sun or quartz lamps) does not matter.

In this regard, a solarium is even more dangerous - it only takes a few minutes to get an artificial tan, the radiation is more powerful, and its source is closer. Of course, the specialist checks with the client whether this is her first visit, whether she is allergic to ultraviolet radiation, and gives recommendations regarding the time of the session based on her skin type. The latter, by the way, cannot always be determined at first glance - this is not helped by dyeing your hair and wearing colored contact lenses. Therefore, considering tanning in a solarium to be an absolutely safe procedure that does not produce unpleasant consequences in the form of burns is a big mistake.

Types of burns and how to deal with them

The most typical symptom of sunburn burns is redness of the skin. Such minor injuries disappear in 2–3 days, even if nothing is done. A more complex problem that can be dealt with at home is redness, accompanied by painful sensations, itching, burning (the face and/or body feels like it’s on fire), followed by peeling and peeling of the skin. It takes 7–10 days for the unpleasant symptoms to disappear (subject to the use of special means). The epidermis will be completely restored in 21–28 days.

You should immediately consult a doctor if you have:

  • blisters;
  • charring of skin and tissues (an extremely rare symptom; to get such a burn, you need to spend more than one hour in a solarium);
  • the onset of inflammation, suppuration;
  • severe swelling;
  • a sharp significant increase in temperature, chills, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, general weakness, and other symptoms characteristic of fever.

The first thing to do after getting burns is to restore the body's water balance. Drink more clean water, natural juices and fruit drinks diluted halfway with it. Green tea is also suitable. Drinking alcohol before eliminating unpleasant symptoms is a strict taboo. It further increases dehydration and leads to intoxication of the body. Strong black tea and coffee also provoke moisture loss. If possible, take a cool shower or bath more often without soaping your body - this will relieve the burning sensation.

Burns, especially large ones, always mean dehydration; Water balance needs to be restored as soon as possible, but not all drinks are suitable for this

To avoid aggravating the problem, over the next few days, wear loose clothing made from natural fabrics and seamless underwear, minimizing friction against the skin. If your face is affected, avoid decorative cosmetics until the epidermis is completely restored, use only hypoallergenic care products suitable for sensitive skin.

To combat symptoms characteristic of allergies (itching, burning), take a tablet of any antihistamine. An analgesic will help cope with severe pain. There are many appropriate medications; any woman has probably already found out through experience which one is best for her. If your body temperature is slightly elevated, take an antipyretic.

To combat redness, ointments, creams and gels with a soothing and at the same time regenerating effect are suitable. Suitable ingredients are aloe juice, arnica, horse chestnut. Apply them several times a day; if it hurts to touch the skin, use spray products.

What you can buy at the pharmacy:

  • Panthenol, Bepanten, Dexpanthenol, D-pantol. Products based on pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), the composition is almost identical. Recommended for any burns, quickly relieving all their characteristic symptoms and accelerating the healing of the epidermis. Creams and sprays are completely safe; pediatricians even prescribe them for newborns. But the risk of allergy cannot be completely excluded, so first perform a test on an intact area of skin if you are using the product for the first time.
  • Solcoseryl. Gel and ointment activate metabolism and promote rapid tissue regeneration. Help prevent unpleasant consequences such as peeling and peeling of the skin.
  • Rescuer. Available in the form of balm and ointment. The product is effective in the presence of redness and even small blisters, restores the skin's moisture level, activates its restoration process, relieves inflammation, and has an antibacterial effect. Analogues - Libyan and Olazol.

Folk remedies are also useful. Of course, they cannot cope with serious burns, but they are quite capable of removing redness and burning:

  • Kefir, cream, yogurt, yogurt. You need to use only natural, preferably homemade, products without additives. They are well cooled and applied to the affected areas or wiped over the entire body. Sour cream is a suitable option only for those with very dry skin. In all other cases, its high fat content and denser consistency contribute to the formation of a “film” that prevents the supply of oxygen to cells and inhibits the regeneration process.
  • Oatmeal and egg white. A tablespoon of flakes is ground in a coffee grinder and mixed with chilled egg whites, whipped into a strong foam. The composition is applied to reddened skin and washed off with cool water after half an hour.
  • Chamomile, sage, calendula. Prepare an infusion by pouring a tablespoon of dry raw material with a glass of boiling water. After an hour, filter it and let it cool to room temperature. Moistened in liquid cotton pads, gauze, wipe the damaged skin or apply compresses for 10–15 minutes.
  • White cabbage. Juice is squeezed out of fresh leaves and compresses are made, or whole leaves are applied to burns. You can first beat them off with a wooden hammer. The “exposure” time is 25–30 minutes.
  • Honey and milk. Dilute milk with water 1:2, add liquid honey (a tablespoon per glass). Mix well and cool. Gauze is moistened in the resulting liquid and compresses are applied to the burns. You need to keep them for 10–15 minutes.

    Honey is a unique product that deeply nourishes the skin and activates its regeneration and metabolism, but we must remember that of all beekeeping products it most often provokes allergies

  • Aloe juice. The skin is cut off from the leaves, the pulp is crushed in a blender to a homogeneous paste. It is applied to reddened skin and, after drying, washed off with clean, cool water. Cut off the lowest leaves, they contain the maximum concentration of nutrients. It is advisable that the plant is at least three years old.
  • Green tea. Approximately a tablespoon of leaves is poured into a glass hot water, insist for an hour. The tea is cooled in the refrigerator, then compresses are made with it. Keep them until completely dry.
  • Cucumbers and potatoes. The first is cut into circles and applied to the affected areas, the second is rubbed on a fine grater or the juice is squeezed out. Such remedies are very useful if redness is accompanied by itching.

When the main symptoms of the burn have been dealt with, it is necessary to help the skin recover and normalize the water balance, especially if it is peeling. Oils that are very useful in this regard are coconut, sea buckthorn, olive, peach, and avocado. They deeply nourish and soften the epidermis, forming a thin film on the surface that prevents rapid loss of moisture. The oil is applied 2-3 times a day, in a thin layer. Unabsorbed excess is wiped off with a paper napkin after 20–30 minutes. The only limitation for the use of oils is very oily skin. Its owners are better off using dairy products. The proteins they contain also speed up the regeneration process.

How to avoid getting sunburned when visiting a solarium

It is quite possible to minimize the risk of getting burns in a solarium if you follow the recommendations of cosmetologists:

  • If you have a choice, visit the turbo solarium. This option is considered the most modern and safe; the cooling system protects the skin from overheating and burns.
  • Increase the duration of sessions gradually, starting from 2-3 minutes. The safe maximum for owners is very dark skin- 10–15 minutes. The interval between procedures is at least 24 hours. If you still cannot avoid burns, forget about the solarium until your skin is completely restored.
  • Be sure to use special cosmetics specifically for tanning in a solarium. Conventional sunscreens, even with a very high SPF factor, are useless in this case. After each session, be sure to apply a moisturizer or cooling spray.
  • Immediately before the procedure, you should not wash, so as not to damage the natural protective layer of the skin; immediately after it, mechanical influence is excluded - scrubs, peelings, hard washcloths.
  • Take care to protect the most sensitive areas of the skin - wear glasses, cover your hair with a cap, apply a moisturizing balm to your lips. It is advisable to use your own cap and glasses to avoid getting an infection. For breasts, there are special disposable caps or stickers that cover the nipples.
  • Come to your session without makeup and do not wear perfume.
  • Include more vegetables and fruits in your diet orange color, rich in vitamins A and E. The tan will lie smoother and without unpleasant consequences.
