Parental testing of overalls! How to wash thermal overalls correctly. We wash children's overalls. Caring for things made of membrane fabric Can kerry be washed with ordinary powder

Many mothers, having bought thermal overalls, begin to guess at the symbols that are on the label instead of a memo. Some of them are easy to decipher - such as washing temperature, ironing. What do the rest mean? After all, the symbols on the labels are instructions on how to properly care for such clothes.

Let's figure it out how to wash thermal overalls properly!

Basic recommendations for all thermal overalls:
- observe the washing temperature indicated on the label (usually not higher than 40 °)

- do not use products containing bleach (almost all powders) and rinsing agents

How to wash the membrane thermal overalls?
If the thermal is dirty in some places, it is best to wash these places with a regular washcloth under running water.
If the light parts of the overalls do not wash out, try adding a washcloth to the washcloth - Collonil, Domal.
If there is a lot of dirt and washing does not solve the problem, turn the overalls inside out (pre-fasten the zippers) and wash in the machine without spinning (delicate mode is better), at a temperature not exceeding 40 °. (but washing before that does not hurt).

When washing, use ONLY special products for membrane fabrics (information below).
Do not use chlorine products.
All non-specialized laundry detergents are at your own peril and risk.
If you already use ordinary powders, choose without bleach (it says on the label, for example: Tide Absolute for colored laundry - does not contain bleach!)
Keep in mind that bleaches in powders spoil the membrane very much, and rinses and soap completely clog pores.
The material will stop working.
Do not rinse or wring!
Also, such overalls cannot be dried on a radiator or other heating devices (by the way, warn kindergarten teachers about this)

General recommendations for the care of products (Lenne) / KERRY (Kerry):
- close zippers and Velcro before washing
- observe the washing temperature indicated on the label
- do not soak (may shed color)
- avoid overdose of detergents
- do not use rinse aid
- follow the instructions for drying and ironing
- do not dry on a radiator or drying cabinet
- leave items to dry on their own

Care instructions for other overalls
CARE of water-repellent fabrics
Clothing made from water-repellent fabrics requires care, as well as from membrane ones. It is desirable to wash it as little as possible, because. when washed, it loses its waterproof properties.
To restore the water-repellent properties of clothing, special impregnations in the form of liquids and aerosols are used.
Moreover, for different types materials, there are various special tools.
But before using any of them, the thing must be washed or cleaned (combination with dirt can completely destroy the coating).
It is better not to iron such clothes at all. In extreme cases, only from the side of the lining with a warm iron.

Caring for products with synthetic insulation
Recommendations from TM Kiko / Donilo:
- Wash at 30°C using only mild detergents that do not contain bleach.
- do not soak or bleach.
- products can be washed both by hand and in all types of washing machines, but in this case, use the delicate wash or gentle mode.
- iron on low heat, no more than 110 °C, without steam, using a fabric pad.
- the product can be dried in a drum dryer at low temperatures.

CARE of products on synthetic winterizer
Products can be washed both manually and in the washing machine in the delicate wash mode at a temperature of 30 degrees. These items dry quickly.
If necessary, they can be ironed with a slightly heated iron.

Washing baby clothes

Your baby came from a walk. He had a great time crawling on his knees in the sandbox, launching boats in puddles and playing leapfrog with the neighbor's dog. And you, examining the child's overalls, are convinced that washing is inevitable. And ask yourself a reasonable question: "Is it possible to wash it?". The temperature, type of washing and detergents will depend on the material and insulation from which the clothing is made.

You will need

brush or sponge;
- washing powder(special detergent);
- washing machine, basin.

Instruction

1 Look closely rompers. Look for a label with symbols. It is usually placed in the side inner seam of the product. This fabric ribbon should indicate the materials from which the overalls are made and badges for caring for the item. If you see a crossed-out basin of water, then washing the product is not recommended and you will have to go to the dry cleaner.
2 If in legend there is a wash icon, then prepare the overalls for this procedure. Carefully inspect all pockets, even the smallest ones. Children often leave gloves, pebbles and other street jewels in their pockets. Slightly turning the pocket inside out, use a soft dry brush to clean it of dust, sand, and lint. Gently wipe heavy dirt off the outer fabric with a damp sponge. Close all zippers on the jumpsuit. Unfasten mittens, fur lining and jewelry, if they are on buttons or Velcro.

3Children's overalls, for which hand washing is allowed, you can safely wash in the machine on a delicate cycle. The product does not require soaking before washing. Water should not be hotter than 30 degrees. It is not worth the risk and wash the overalls at higher temperatures, because. lining material may shed or shrink. Sometimes stains from poorly rinsed powder remain on the fabric after washing. To prevent this from happening, take the powder less than the usual rate. Do not experiment with fabric softeners.

4 If the insulation in the overalls is down, put 2-3 ping-pong balls in the drum of the machine. This will prevent the fluff from sticking together into one lump. When pushing, set the minimum number of revolutions. If your car model does not provide for this operation, it is better to wring out the overalls with your hands.

5 Lay out the overalls to dry on a flat surface on a highly absorbent cotton fabric. Shake and straighten the product several times so that the insulation is evenly distributed.

Membrane fabric care

Outerwear made of membrane fabrics (Reymatek-Reimatec, Reima Casual-Reima Casual) is not recommended to be washed with ordinary detergents. Ordinary powder clogs the cellular structure of the membrane, which leads to the loss of its specific qualities. The membrane in this case stops "breathing" - the properties of air permeability are reduced. The same thing happens when using conditioners and bleaches.

Detergents containing chlorine and its derivatives have the opposite effect of clogging pores membrane tissue. Chlorine molecules have a perforating effect on the membrane, due to which it begins to “breathe” better, but, as a result, get wet. Thus, the water-repellent protective properties of the membrane tissue are reduced.

Can be washed with liquid or laundry soap containing no chlorine. The membrane remains intact during such washing, although the problem of clogging pores with dirt remains relevant. In this case, the properties of the membrane are restored using special means for the care of membrane tissues. This method is used only in extreme cases, when it is necessary to get rid of strong contaminants. Try not to bring clothes made of membrane fabrics to such a state.
Under no circumstances should membrane clothing be washed in a washing machine, soaked, or wrung out. It also has a negative effect on the specific properties of the membrane tissue.
Product soaking is not required. As a rule, dirt is easily removed by hand washing. To avoid damage to the membrane, washing is done by hand at a temperature of 30-40 degrees. When washing products made of membrane fabrics, special liquid detergents available on the market are recommended. After washing, the product is wrung out by hand, but without twisting. To remove excess moisture, you can use a highly absorbent cotton fabric.

How to dry REIMA overalls (REIMA)

Membrane clothing is dried in a straightened form in a horizontal position at room temperature. The room in which drying is carried out must be ventilated. In no case do not allow direct sunlight in order to avoid fading of the top layer of membrane clothing.

Special care for REIMA overalls (REIMA)

Membrane clothes should never be ironed, as heat can damage the tissue structure.

To restore the water-repellent properties of the outer fabric of membrane clothing, a special fluorine-based spray is used. Fluorine compounds allow you to create a water-repellent film that will not interfere with the movement of air. In addition, the film will impede the penetration of external contaminants and increase the resistance of the fabric to ultraviolet radiation.

Kerry overalls are one of the most popular options for children's clothing in the cold season. In such overalls, the baby will not be disturbed by the cold wind, he will not feel discomfort during walks and games on the street, and the mother will not have to worry and straighten the child's clothes all the time. But there comes a time when such versatile clothing needs to be washed.

How to wash Kerry overalls

In order to wash Kerry you will need:

  • washing machine;
  • washing powder or gel;
  • water repellent finish.

Before washing, read the label on the overalls and find out how and at what temperature to wash the purchased baby overalls. Close all Velcro and zippers. Do not soak the overalls before washing, as the colored fabric may fade. Machine wash on delicate wash or by hand at a temperature not exceeding 40 0 C. Wash with the addition of liquid gel for delicate items and at a minimum number of revolutions.

For washing, do not use chlorine-containing products and other aggressive substances, as they can clog pores and destroy the membrane. Avoid overdose of detergents. Wash only with those special detergents, on the packaging of which there is an inscription that they are allowed for membrane fabrics, which is the fabric of Kerry overalls.

Rinse the overalls in clean water without adding rinses, as the isosoft insulation may begin to heat up less, and the water-repellent fabric of the overalls will begin to absorb moisture more with each subsequent wash.

After washing, do not wring out the overalls by machine, but let them drain on a hanger or rope so as not to damage the membrane. Never dry it in a drying cabinet or on a radiator. Dry the jumpsuit on a hanger at room temperature.

If the pollution is not strong, just wash it off with a jet of water and dry it. After washing, do not iron the overalls, synthetic fabric the top may melt, damaging the membrane.

To restore the water-repellent function of the fabric after washing with rinse aid, spray any transparent water-repellent impregnation on the fabric. After treatment with the above agent, the thing becomes like new, and the water drains once or twice. Only apply the impregnation on clean things, because if you apply it on a dirty fabric, you will not achieve the effect, but only waste your money.

We decided to give an independentparental testing 3 overalls - they advertised on the Internet on mothers' forums, there were a lot of applicants, three Parents were chosen through a small conceptual competition - for our part, we did not edit or replace a single word or fact. Read and see photos:

Story one

My name is Maria, my daughter is Olga, she is 4.5 years old, height103 cm, thin. Since the beginning of this winter, she has been walking in a separate overalls from the company Shaluna, she froze several times, the overalls get dirty very quickly, I wash it literally every other day.

The overalls that my daughter and I were supposed to test turned out to be one-piece Kerry art.821 V /173 height 104 size 28. The jumpsuit sat down normally, although there is a small margin in length, but I like it when it is: somehow calmer, I know that even if the child raises his arms or sits down, the sleeves will not pull up and it will be warm. I would also like to note a comfortable elastic band at the bottom of the trousers, which are worn over boots and do not allow the trousers to ride up, in winter this is very, very important.

First place where we tested the overalls was a McDonald's restaurant. It was -15 degrees outside at that time. For a child, I put on a cotton turtleneck, tights (cotton + synthetics), wool underwear Skiki , overalls Kerry. My daughter is cold, but during this walk she said that she was warm and comfortable. At McDonald's, we did a series of things to get our overalls dirty with food: we dripped sauce on them, spilled Coca-Cola, and smeared them with ice cream. About each in order. So, the sauce was the first - they dripped it, it remained on the fabric, not a stack down. Out of habit, I decided that as soon as I got home, I would immediately wash Kerry, because on our previous Naughty overalls, any stain immediately ate into the fabric, and it was impossible to erase it without washing. Then they tried to spill Coca-Cola on the overalls, but to my surprise, the liquid collected in drops and flowed down from Kerry, leaving no traces! The only thing is that a couple of droplets “caught” on the seam, I tried to reflect them in the photograph, after which they safely fell off the overalls when the child moved. Then there was ice cream with chocolate - we smeared it on the fabric, it turned out that both the ice cream itself and chocolate strips remained. They didn’t wash anything with a napkin, they left everything home, I was getting ready for washing.

Second checkwe arranged the jumpsuit on the playground, and then walked in it to the store for new cap and mittens. During our walk it was -12 degrees, my daughter dressed the same as yesterday. Olya felt comfortable again, she did not complain about the cold. So, on the site, the daughter first decided to ride a plastic slide. According to my observations, it was not entirely clean. Olya, I have a child with imagination, so she’s just not interested in riding on her butt, today she rode on her butt, lying on her back and lying on her stomach, and she rode for quite a long time. I (out of habit) was again sure that the jumpsuit would definitely get dirty, well, at least a little, but as a result of examining the child after riding, I found that Kerry was absolutely clean, I also did not find any clues or scuffs. Further, the daughter climbed the metal ladders, but they were not dirty, as it seemed to me, so the overalls were still clean. After walking on the site, we went to the store. This hike is valuable for our experiment in that Olya stumbled on a not quite clean staircase in the store and fell to her knees. After this fall, a few barely noticeable specks of dirt remained on the overalls in the area of the knees. Here it should also be noted the very successful color of the lower half of the overalls - the dirt on it, especially after drying, is practically not visible. This is actually a very, very valuable property of our Kerry model. At home, I again decided not to wash the overalls entirely, but simply wash the spots with stains. Only water this time did not work out - the dirt from the stairs clung stronger than yesterday's stains from McDonald's. By the way, here I want to say about one discovery that I made while washing today's stains. When water poured into the places of contamination, it gathered into drops around the stains and flowed down from the overalls, but it seemed to remain on the stains themselves, that is, the stains were clearly marked by water. From this, I concluded that the fabric is either treated with something water-repellent, or in itself has this property. Then I decided to try to remove the spots first, which turned up under my arm - ordinary hand soap. I applied a little soap, rubbed it a little, and after 15 seconds the stains were gone! I also want to note that the overalls do not get wet: after washing, I specially carefully checked the inside of the overalls - completely dry. As a result of my small wash, wet places were again left on the top of the fabric where there were specks of dirt, and again after 2 hours the overalls were dry and clean.

Rolling downhill on your stomach

I just fell on the stairs, a dirty spot is noticeable after the fall, after a walk - rear view

Third test , which we prepared for the overalls, became the dirt that settled on the car. It is still cool outside (it was -13 degrees outside the window), today they refused to go for a walk, but went to the store by car. Under the overalls, given that we are going to the store, I put Olya on a thin cotton blouse and cotton tights, and my daughter did not sweat in the store. Since now, due to frosty weather, dirt on the street can only be found on the roads where cars drive and on the cars themselves, and we need to check the reaction of the fabric to dirt, my daughter and I decided, as if by chance, to lean outside against a very dirty car. This time the spots turned out to be large, they are very visible from above, since the color is pink, and at the bottom they are again barely visible due to the successful dark color. Considering that the area of contamination this time was quite large, and also that, according to the testing conditions, we still needed to wash the overalls, I decided this time not to be zealous with washing by hand, but to finally use washing machine. True, before putting Kerry in the machine, I nevertheless rinsed the places of pollution under the shower, some of the dirt moved away, but still small stains remained. I didn’t rub my hands, I entrusted the work of washing to the washing machine, to be honest, I was too lazy to mess around myself - I would have to rub quite a lot of places (daughter leaned against the car to her conscience). Washed with a special balm for washing sportswear brand " Domal ". As a result of washing, all stains disappeared without a trace. I would like to note that after washing, water drains from Kerry in the same way as from membrane overalls(We had Reim's overalls for one season, so I know the features of washing products with a membrane). The overalls completely dried overnight (washed in the evening).

Got dirty on the car

After rinsing with water, small stains of dirt remained.

Washing at home Immediately after washing

fourth stage Our testing of Kerry was a walk on a frozen pond and slides. It was -8 degrees outside today, so I decided to try not to wear wool underwear. I dressed my daughter only in a cotton turtleneck, cotton tights + synthetics and overalls on top. The daughter did not freeze again during the walk, so the overalls turned out to be very warm. Today we tried to ride in overalls on an ice track. Olya rode on it and standing, and lying on her back, and lying on her stomach. Here I would like to note that in this overall it is much easier for Olya to move than in the previous separate from Shaluna. Having rolled on the ice, Olya moved to a snowy hill, where she gladly rolled down it without ice. By the way, the material of the overalls allows you to move down a snow hill well, it does not slow down the movement. Maybe this effect is achieved due to impregnation, which does not allow dirt and moisture to penetrate into the material? In total, Olya skated on the ice and the slide for about an hour and a half. At home, I examined Kerry and did not find any sign that the overalls were used after washing, that is, there is no dirt or damage to the fabric.

Kneeling on ice

Conclusion:

Now I would like to write about my impressions of using Kerry's overalls these days.

Firstly, I really liked the jumpsuit: I liked the model itself, and the color, and the way it sits on the child.

Secondly, I would like to note that dirt practically does not stick to it. That is, we consciously, somewhere even exaggeratedly soiled it, and even this dirt did not always stick, but in general, in my life my daughter is a very neat woman, so I think I will have to wash my overalls no more than once a week, otherwise and less often, this is also very important and very pleasing.

Thirdly, the overalls do not get wet, which I could verify while washing the dirt stains. This is important during the warming weather, which has been enough in Moscow in recent years in winter, and it is on such days that children often get wet and freeze in wet overalls. Now we don't have this problem.

Fourthly, Kerry turned out to be a very warm jumpsuit. The days of our testing turned out to be quite frosty, but my daughter, who in principle refused to go out in the cold, as a rule, because she was invariably cold, these days she never complained about the cold. At the same time, in the store, she did not sweat in the same overalls. I know that membrane tissues usually have the ability to remove sweat from the body, and as far as I know, they are not used in the manufacture of Kerry, but the fact remains: the daughter did not freeze in the cold, she did not sweat in the heat.

I also want to note that the jumpsuit dries very quickly compared to the same Naughty ones: my Naughty ones sometimes dried out only after one and a half, or even two days after washing, and Kerry dried up in one night. This property is valuable in that there is no need to buy a change of overalls: if the child gets dirty during a walk, I can simply wash it in the evening, and in the morning the overalls can already be put on, which is a significant savings for the family budget.
