Selected care products. Selection and use of skin care products for a bedridden patient. Signs of oily and combination skin

Everyone knows that you need to take care of your hair from a young age. But what is the right way to do it? Don't know how to create your own personal hair care collection, choosing from a huge selection of shampoos, rinses, lathers, serums, masks and oils? Heed the advice of experts.

Hair care - fashion or necessity?

Regular care and hair care no longer seems like a whim of spoiled beauties to anyone. Professionals have proven that hair health depends primarily on right choice care products, the regularity of their use and, of course, the concentration of active ingredients in cosmetic products. Daily Care for hair is necessary even for owners of healthy and shiny hair. Luxurious hair is rarely the result of good heredity, most often hard work is hidden behind a pleasing result.

Professional hair care tips

Hair care must begin with proper diagnosis. Of course, the choice of care products will depend primarily on the type of hair, the condition of the scalp, as well as the time of year. Few people know that proper hair washing is already half the battle on the way to the beauty of hair. And there are some tricks here. For example, it is best to alternately use two shampoos of different action, skillfully combining the beneficial effect of detergents and without overloading the strands with the same active ingredients. How often you should wash your hair is a purely individual decision. If you often use varnishes, foams and other styling products that make your hair heavier, then it is best to wash your hair after each use. And, of course, do not forget to use nourishing masks that suit your hair type.

Expert help to emphasize your individuality

Every woman is a unique, beautiful and very fragile creature. And caring for the beauty of hair cannot fit into dry frames or rigid standards. There are no uniform rules here, except for one: only a professional hair stylist will be your best adviser in matters of hair care. The expert will carefully study the features of your hair, listen to your wishes and select an individual care complex that can reveal the beauty of your hair, filling it with health.

Like facial creams, body care products should be chosen according to the needs of the skin. After all, components that are suitable for one type can be harmful to another. Today, a wide range of body products is presented on store shelves, but the price and fame of the brand do not always speak of quality. How can a buyer understand such a variety? What substances in the composition should be feared? How to choose the tool that is right for you? Our Buyer's Guide will tell you about it.

What are body products?

Skin care products for the body differ in the form of release (texture). You can choose from a thick cream or a light lotion in the form of a spray. But each texture has its own advantages and disadvantages.

  • Body creams are thick products that, due to their heavy texture, are most often used for dry to very dry skin.
Pros: nourishes and moisturizes even very dry skin.
Cons: The cream can be absorbed for a long time and feel too heavy on the skin.
  • Body milks are light emulsions that can be designed for different purposes and skin types.
Pros: Light texture absorbs faster (than in creams) and does not feel on the skin.
    Cons: none.
  • Body lotion is even more liquid than milk. They are intended for different types skin. Often they are made in the form of body sprays.
Pros: light texture absorbs faster (compared to creams and milk) and does not feel on the skin.
Cons: These products may not be enough to moisturize dry skin.
  • Body oils are usually mixtures of several oils. They can be either solid or liquid. Their modern counterpart, so-called dry body butters, are blends of natural oils and silicones that absorb into the skin faster.
Pros: The fats included in the composition nourish the skin well.
Cons: Some oils leave a greasy film on the skin that is not immediately absorbed.

How to choose a body product

The choice of product depends on the type of skin and its needs. Some body products can be nourishing, softening and moisturizing, while others are designed to combat cellulite and signs of aging. But manufacturers do not always indicate on the packaging who their product is suitable for, limiting themselves to the general phrase "For all skin types", so you should study the composition yourself.

To get started, in order to choose the right body skin care product, you need to answer two questions:

  1. What is your skin type? To determine this, you need to do a test with a napkin.

Napkin test. After a shower, do not apply body lotion to the skin and apply a tissue to it after a few hours. If there are few greasy traces on it, then you have normal skin. If a greasy spots a lot, then oily. A dry wipe indicates dry skin.

  1. What do you need lotion for? Improve skin condition, slow down age-related changes, get rid of skin irritation or cellulite?

After answering these questions, you can already search for the components that are suitable for you.

For dry skin see:

  • Texture: cream, milk, body butter
  • Components:
    • emollients (almond oil, peach or apricot oil, honey)
    • nutritious (shea butter, avocado, mango)
    • moisturizers (aloe, wheat proteins, sorbitol, propylene glycol, glycerin)

For oily skin see:

  • Texture: milk, lotion, body butter
  • Components:
    • constrictive (lemon, grapefruit, witch hazel)
    • antimicrobial ( essential oil lavender, tea tree, rosemary, zinc).

For sensitive skin see:

  • Components:
    • sunscreens (titanium dioxide, benzophenone, cinnamates)
    • film-forming (algae extracts, beta-glucan, chitosan, aloe vera gel, alginic acid).

For aging skin see:

  • Texture: according to skin type
  • Components:
    • antioxidants (grape extract, vitamin E, evening primrose)
    • regenerating (retinol, wheat germ oil)
    • sunscreens (titanium dioxide, benzophenone, cinnamates).

To combat cellulite, see:

  • Texture: according to skin type
  • Components:
    • venotonics (ginkgo biloba extract, grape seed oil)
    • soothing (chamomile, rose, allantoin, azulene, bisabolol, witch hazel, jasmine)
    • film-forming ingredients that stimulate blood circulation
    • film-forming (algae extracts, beta-glucan, chitosan, aloe vera gel, alginic acid).

Check before buying

The right ingredients in the composition is not everything. There are a few more things to consider before buying:

  • How quickly the product is absorbed. To do this, you can apply it on your hand and walk around with it for 2-5 minutes. A product that absorbs quickly is the most convenient, because after applying it you can get dressed immediately.
  • Does it protect against the harmful effects of the sun? Body cream (or other product) with sun protection is indicated by SPF (for example, SPF 15, SPF 30). If you moisturize your skin before going out, then it is better to choose such a tool. If you use the products only before bedtime, then choose a composition without sunscreen components - they have more substances useful for the skin.
  • What is the smell of the product? If you use perfume, it is better to choose an unscented product or take a lotion + perfume set from the same series so that they complement each other.
  • What is its expiration date? An expired remedy can do more harm than good. A spoiled product can also delaminate and have an unpleasant rancid odor.
  • Anti-cellulite products are not a panacea.
Manufacturers say that their body creams with a lifting and modeling effect will make the skin supple and get rid of cellulite. In fact, the treatment of this problem requires an integrated approach: proper diet, exercise and improvement of local blood circulation through cosmetics and procedures. All these measures are ineffective on their own.
    • Diet. To prevent and combat cellulite, it is recommended to limit the consumption of fried, fatty foods, smoked meats, pickles, marinades, and sweets. Your diet should be supplemented with freshly squeezed juices, seaweed dishes and special vegetable and vitamin complexes (with ginkgo biloba, rosemary, hawthorn extract and turmeric).
    • Physical exercises. A sedentary lifestyle leads to stagnation of blood and lymph and, as a result, to cellulite. People with sedentary jobs should exercise regularly, walk more, and wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. When the blood does not stagnate, the skin stays young and supple longer.
    • Cosmetics. Anti-cellulite body creams should contain components that improve blood circulation, strengthen blood vessels, soften and soothe the skin.
    • Cosmetic procedures. The easiest way to improve blood circulation is a contrast shower. It is also recommended to rub the problem areas with a dry or wet washcloth.
  • Silicones aren't as bad as they're made out to be.
Silicones are used to soften, moisturize and protect the skin. They improve the consistency of the cream, make it lighter and easier to apply. However, it is believed that silicones can clog pores, prevent skin from breathing and removing toxins. But experts say that these compounds are safe. They are inert to the skin and rarely cause irritation. They are even used in medicine to restore the skin after burns. The action of silicones is compared to a tea bag, which allows water to pass through, but not tea leaves.
  • Parabens are an effective and safe preservative.
Many people have heard that parabens cause cancer. It all started with a small article in a research journal that talked about the discovery of parabens in breast tumors. But further experiments (about 265 studies in total!) could not prove that preservatives cause cancer. Therefore, the FDA (American Food and Drug Administration) recognized them as safe effective compounds. Note that parabens are often found in wildlife: in blueberries, blackcurrants, peaches, carrots, onions, cocoa beans and vanilla.
  • Fragrant body products can cause allergies.
The pleasant aroma of body products is one of their main advantages. Often a woman buys a new milk just because of its pleasant smell. But it should be borne in mind that fragrances give such products a pleasant smell. Safe fragrances, as a rule, are indicated by the word “parfum” in the composition, and potentially allergenic manufacturers are required to indicate the composition in full. They can cause skin irritation and an allergic reaction, so if you have hypersensitivity, then you should refuse such components. Or, alternatively, test a trial amount of the product for 2-3 days by applying it to a small area of skin. Allergenic fragrances include limonene, linalol, menthol, mint, grapefruit oil, hexicinnamal, geraniol, butylphenyl methylpropional.

It is often difficult to understand the properties of a new cosmetic product right in the store. To make it easier for you to choose, the experts of the site have tested the most popular of them in the laboratory and on the test group. Test results can be found in our

In this article I will tell you how to choose proper care. Creams, serums, tonics, lotions, masks, scrubs, peels - what do you really need to keep your skin healthy for a long time?

Girls, lately you have been writing to me very often in the comments that your head is spinning from all this information. Especially the new ones, who come from the classic world of cosmetics and try to switch to natural and organic, are intimidated by prices and strange skin care tricks.

And there is nothing to be afraid of, everything is not as difficult as it seems.

Here I will share with you simple tips on how to choose the most care you need for the minimum amount of money.

First, let's talk about why it's hard to find the right skin care and how to find it. And then I will give you a rough program that you can adjust according to the needs of your skin.

I warn you right away, I'm not a cosmetologist or a doctor, but I understand a little about natural and organic cosmetics: P (Why, you can read in the section)

I myself once switched to natural cosmetics after Lorealei / Merikeev / Vichy / Lyaroshi, etc. And she helped many people get rid of skin problems (this is proved by daily letters from you, dear girls!).

For example, here it is:

Why is it difficult to choose the right facial skin care?

The modern cosmetics industry, in my opinion, has greatly distorted the idea of our skin. Every day, faces with clear, matte, flawless skin look at us from screens and photographs of magazines, who “shout” to us about deep thorough cleansing, the need for ten products to apply for skin cleansing alone.

But we do not see that behind these "shouts" are, firstly, models whose make-up was done for several hours, whose photographs were processed by a certain number of filters. And, secondly, the manufacturers themselves are interested so that the problems associated with your skin do not end, and you do not stop buying the treasured jars.

What conclusions should be drawn:

  1. The condition of the skin largely depends on the gene (if your skin is more oily than dry, then you can at least hurt yourself into a cake, but you will NEVER have perfect 24 hours a day matte skin)
  2. The condition of your skin is its current state. The skin can be dry, and then suddenly become oily or combination. I support Dr.Hauschka's brand philosophy more, which divides skin into states, not types!
  3. The more care products, the better - a delusion (otherwise you would not have read my articles in search of help until the night)
  4. Expensive products are not always (oh, far from always) the best.

There are many articles written on my blog, probably too many on this topic))) I will help you navigate.

My light, mirror, tell me - show me the right care

Personally, I attribute 2 steps to proper skin care:

  1. Proper cleansing (cleansing milk, cream, emulsion)
  2. Proper hydration/nutrition (cream or oil)

The rest of personal belongings, such as masks, serums, peels, scrubs - this is ADDITIONAL care. This means that if the first two points are wrong, then you can give up on the rest.

Here the heart asks for details.

Proper cleansing

It should be:

  • soft
  • efficient
  • nourishing

Milk - perfect option. Milk cleanses the skin from dust, excessive secretions on the skin and cometics due to the fact that fat dissolves fat. General chemistry. If you have tried it, you have noticed that the oil cleanses the skin surprisingly thoroughly. This is precisely due to the fact that it dissolves sebum on the surface of the skin and takes it along with cosmetics.

Why milk and not foam or gel? It does not contain surfactants (surfactants), substances that help the product foam. Any surfactant, especially if it is Sodium Lauryl or Sodium Laureth Sulfate, irritates the skin. They take too much sebum, the skin loses its natural protective coating. You can easily feel it yourself, since in most cases the skin tightens after washing with foam (or too hard water), it immediately requires a cream.

And milk not only very carefully removes exactly as much sebum as needed, but also nourishes the skin due to the high content of vegetable oils.

Some still like to wash with gels. Well, their skin can’t change to milk! Then I recommend using products with very mild tensides (Glukoside and Glutamate). Just recently, I checked the compositions of well-known foams for the content of critical surfactants and other substances.

Proper hydration/nutrition

It should be:

It doesn't matter what condition your skin is in now, it always needs hydration and nourishment. Owners of oily skin sin by using light serums or gels for moisturizing. And they dream of food nightmares. BUT - it is oily skin that does not have enough NUTRITION. Excessive secretion of sebum is a signal that the skin lacks "lubrication". Having picked up a competent diet with a sufficient amount of vegetable oils, you can bring your skin into balance.

And about the right time - you can experiment and try not to apply the cream at night. I promise you ( especially if you have oily skin with breakouts), you will like the result. In order for the skin to feel comfortable after evening cleansing, so that it does not tighten, so that it does not peel off, the first point must be correct (read, do not clean with foam, but with milk).

Choosing the right care

The choice of products depends on the condition of your skin. If your skin is oily and prone to breakouts, look for light, non-comedogenic oils in your skin care products. For example, hazelnut, jojoba, grape seed oil.

Now let's move on to practice. I can recommend a hundred different brands to you. But I will stop at Russian manufacturers. First, I want to support them. It is very difficult to compete with the competition of world-famous well-known brands that invest millions in promotion. Secondly, Russian manufacturers cheaper. And, thirdly, the partner of my blog is an online store, which provides all Russian brands - manufacturers natural cosmetics. Everything that I advise, I checked for the presence of critical ingredients. Didn't find any.

Of course, you can optimize any care for your needs and the amount of your wallet. In my blog you will find enough information about different manufacturers natural/organic cosmetics and their products.

All women dream of beautiful hair and often spare no expense or effort in the pursuit of fashionable newcomers, whose advertising promises miraculous, instantaneous transformation after the first use. Now the offer in the cosmetics market far exceeds the demand. But making the right choice while saving time and money is not an easy task. Therefore, let's try together to choose the right hair care products, based on their purpose and composition.

Shampoo. What's inside?

According to dermatologists, one cosmetic product that gives a "foam cloud" is not complete without surfactants - surfactants. And the more your shampoo lathers, the more surfactants it contains. The most common of them is lauryl sulfate (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) or sodium laureth sulfate (Sodium Laureth Sulfate). Lauryl will be stronger in effect, and laureth will be more gentle. Accordingly, the former may be more likely to cause allergies, scalp flaking, and hair loss. Manufacturers are required to indicate the ingredients in the shampoo as follows: substances, the content of which is the highest, should go at the top of the list. It is better that the herbal natural ingredients declared in the advertisement stand as close to the top of the list as possible, and the surfactants as far as possible. But at the same time, the presence of natural ingredients, minerals and vitamins should not be the main criterion for choosing a shampoo. As a rule, their content is insignificant.

It is necessary to choose a shampoo according to the type of hair. The package or container indicates which hair this cosmetic product is intended for.
- if your hair is oily at the roots, but has dry ends, you should not constantly wash it with shampoo of the same cosmetic brand, otherwise addiction will occur and the desired effect will not be. Shampoos can be used to care for dry hair ends.
- for a normal type of hair, we select a shampoo designed only for this type.
- For curly hair, a moisturizing shampoo is suitable, and for very curly curls, a product with a protein base.
- if you have very thin and weak hair, you need to choose a shampoo with a so-called thickening effect. These products should remove the sentitic charge and protect the hair from adverse factors, creating a special protective barrier.
- Shampoos "for all hair types" are neutral and correspond to the natural pH level of the skin. They will not get rid of problems, but they will not harm the hair either.

If you have too sensitive skin heads, excessively dry or, conversely, oily hair, purchase a shampoo based on "soft" surfactants. Beware of daily shampoos. Read the packaging very carefully.

Most shampoos won't get rid of dandruff or hair loss. In these cases, you should contact a dermatologist. You should not look for therapeutic shampoos in the supermarket, but in a specialized pharmacy.

It is worth beingware of shampoos of a very bright color with a pungent odor, most likely they contain dyes and flavors in excess, which can cause an allergic reaction.

Don't expect "miracles" from a shampoo. Its task is to remove impurities from the scalp and hair, and not to treat and restore hair.

Do not purchase "2 in 1" funds, wanting to save money. For example, shampoo and balm in one bottle. They have different tasks. So, the shampoo should wash the hair as much as possible, and therefore it is more alkaline in its pH level. And the balm has an acidic composition. Correctly apply them in turn, which cannot be done when using the "2 in 1" tool. Such a cosmetic product does not have the desired effect.

Balms, conditioners and rinses are not a panacea!

These cosmetic products, as a rule, do not provide restoration of the hair structure and full moisturizing it from the inside. They only improve appearance hair. In most of these cosmetics, the main active ingredient is silicone. Such a component gives enough quick effect, especially for very damaged hair. They smooth hair scales, fill voids, create a protective film that adds shine. If nature has rewarded you with luxury, thick hair with which you will not experience serious problems, it is better not to abuse balms, conditioners, masks. Since, in addition to natural ingredients, vitamins, they all contain thickeners, preservatives, surfactants and other "chemistry" that can damage the hair.

Conditioners are designed to provide quick drying of the hair and reduce static electricity in the hair. When using them, the curls are easy to comb.

If you have thin, even and oily hair, then it is not recommended to constantly use the conditioner along the entire length of the hair. This tool, when accumulated, makes the hair heavier and over time, the curls can lose volume. It is best to apply conditioner only to the ends of your hair. It is recommended to use a conditioner rinse, which, according to the instructions, must be washed off after a couple of minutes after application, and not one that does not require rinsing.

The balm, which in structure resembles a liquid cream, gives the hair healthy look makes them obedient. This remedy is more suitable for owners of dry, brittle hair.

Hair masks are responsible for restoring and nourishing hair.

Their components are designed to compensate for the lack of protein, moisturize the hair. But you need to select masks in accordance with the type of hair and the functions of the mask itself. It is desirable that the masks and balms contain no mineral oil (mineral oil, petrolatum, paraffinum liquidum). This component forms a protective film on the hair. But at the same time clogs the pores of the skin. Therefore, the use of such cosmetics can contribute to the rapid contamination of the hair or even cause irritation of the scalp. Do not forget that after using shampoo and other cosmetics, the hair must be thoroughly rinsed with water, not allowing detergent elements to remain on their surface.

Remember, the condition of your hair depends not only on the chosen cosmetics, but also on proper washing and combing. It will help to improve hair and a properly selected diet. Cosmetologists recommend leaning on foods rich in vitamins A, B, E. This vegetable oil, walnuts(4-5 pieces per day), tangerines, cabbage, bananas, carrots, eggs, cheese

Well, finally, the evening of the long-awaited weekend, and while our men finish cleaning the sauna, the girls sort out their cosmetic bags. Each of us shares our findings and acquisitions, commenting in detail on all our experience in using this or that tool, we take turns leafing through the Oriflame catalog. And while everyone is actively participating in the conversation and going through a great variety of cosmetics, I tried to take a few notes and combine all our knowledge and sort it out point by point how to choose the right cosmetics for the face. And here's what I got.

First, let's remember what stages exist for proper skin care.

1. Purification - this stage should not be skipped. The skin of the face must be cleaned in the morning and in the evening, if necessary, and in the afternoon, before applying other products. More than once a week is recommended. deep cleansing skin - scrub or gommage, depending on your skin type. Products suitable for daily cleansing are foam cleansers, makeup removers, facial soaps or baby soaps.

2. Toning - an optional item, but desirable. It prepares your skin for the application of basic care. It is carried out with the help of tonics, lotions, home decoctions.

3. Moisturizing or nourishing - the fixing point of facial care. Depending on the type of skin and age, the skin needs to be moisturized or nourished. Moisturizing is more suitable for a young age, and already at a more mature age it is more rational to use nutrients.

Now we need to determine the type of skin so that the care cosmetics act to their full potential. This is very easy to do: clean your face and do not apply any products afterwards. After a few hours, apply to the face paper napkin and consider it properly.

If the napkin remains dry - you have a dry skin type, if the spots are evenly distributed over the napkin - oily skin, if the spots are only in the T-zone, therefore, your skin is combination. And if there are no stains on the napkin, but the skin, unlike the first example, does not tighten, you have a normal skin type, but this is rare - only 20% of the population have a normal skin type.

Focusing on your skin type, we choose cosmetics made specifically for this type. The only thing is that when choosing cosmetics for oily skin, you need to carefully study the products, because if they have a strong drying effect, then your skin can become even more oily.

But not all cosmetics are created equal. In order not to purchase cosmetics with harmful products, we learn to read the composition. The main rule: the component that comes first in the list of ingredients is contained in the largest amount in this tool, and then in descending order. The content of the component, which is in the very last place in the composition of the product, can be 0.01% of the total content!

For example, if your moisturizer is water first and mineral oil second, then you should think very carefully before applying it to your face. Mineral oil is a petroleum product, of course, well refined. It is used in many brands, even very famous ones. But its properties can only be useful for very dry skin, since when applied to the face, mineral oil creates a thin film, allowing it to retain moisture.

The skin gets used to the fact that it does not need to work on its own, the oil does everything for it, and it simply cannot do without it. Mineral oil can be disguised as paraffin, paraffin oil, petrolatum, propylene glycol. This is the most common ambiguous component that is part of cosmetics.

Let's take note of a few more ingredients that should be treated with caution when seeing them in the composition:

  • 1,2-Dioxane (1,2-Dioxane) is a strong carcinogen that favors cancer of the nasal septum.
  • Components ending with DEA, MEA, TEA - cause skin irritation, are carcinogenic.
  • Dioxin is a strong synthetic poison that can penetrate cells and infect them.
  • Paraben (Parabene) - destroys skin cells, accumulates in the body, provokes cancer cells.
  • Glycerin (Glycerine) - when the air humidity is less than 70%, it completely draws moisture from the skin, which leads to its dehydration.
  • Isopropyl Alcohol (Isopropyl Alcohol) - promotes the penetration of bacteria into the skin.
  • Peg (PEG) - derivatives of petroleum products, promote the activation of cancer cells.
  • Silicone (Silicone) - forms a non-breathable film on the face, leading to clogged pores.
  • Benzocaine (Benzocaine) - causes disorders of the nervous system.
  • Propylene Glycol (Propilene Glikol) - causes severe allergic reactions, promotes the formation of acne.

Now, knowing what products you need, your skin type and armed with a list of harmful ingredients, you can safely go for useful cosmetics for face.
