James Bond themed party: a whole night isn't enough! James Bond style. Costumes from the movie “Spectre”

Probably almost every boy at least once imagined himself in the role of an MI6 secret agent. And certainly every girl dreamed of growing up to be an ideal woman in every way. A James Bond-themed party is an opportunity to try on one of the most colorful male looks. Or the most elegant dress?

The theme is universal - for adults and children, for birthdays or weddings, for less significant occasions. There shouldn’t be too much scenery, because Agent 007 is an example of a laconic style. But every detail needs to be thought through and done at the highest level, not on the knee.

Bond is 24 films. Any of them can become a “theme within a theme” - design, script, costumes according to the plot. For example, in “Die Another Day” a wonderful ice palace is shown - white and delicate blue textiles, fake ice statues and snow-white flowers, a white menu. Great decoration for a special occasion party!

If the room is large, you can divide the space into “movies” - plot zoning. Choose 3-5 favorites and decorate the zones using recognizable paraphernalia, posters, frames from each of them.

But the favorite theme for a 007-themed party has been “Casino Royale” for several years now. There are many reasons for this - this is the first book in the series, the first film in the restart of the series, simple decorations, and an atmosphere suitable for a holiday.

Decor

The color scheme of the Casino Royale party in the James Bond style is very suitable for social events - black, white and red. Think about what color will prevail; the overall atmosphere greatly depends on this.

If the interior of the room is designed in one of the listed shades, the festive decoration will look more advantageous. And it will take less time to prepare, since the background for the decor is already there. We offer ideas:

  • look around the room critically. Curtains, chandeliers, picture and mirror frames, drapery - everything should be luxurious and look expensive. But invariably stylish, without tackiness;
  • print out a photo of James Bond with a gun, in a car, in the company of a gorgeous girl - the most atmospheric pictures. You can decorate the wall with portraits of all the actors who played Agent 007 - glue on fake cardboard frames, hang them in a checkerboard pattern. Recognizable scenes from films will add dynamics;
  • order or make a life-size silhouette s. This simple decor makes it easy and inexpensive to enhance the theme of your party. James Bond style poses and chiseled female figures in evening dresses. Silhouettes can be placed anywhere, hung on the walls;

Black on a white background or vice versa. Pay attention to the photo below (the head is almost invisible).

  • film stylization is a good option for image design, because we are talking about films. Any movie paraphernalia will fit in - firecrackers, posters, tickets, etc., but in moderate quantities;
  • print or glue the shapes onto playing cards to enhance the atmosphere of Casino Royale;

  • Place large dice around the room (cover square boxes), hang vertical garlands from the same cubes, cards or chips from the ceiling. Billiards, poker, roulette - real playing tables, props, just images. Fake money in stacks, rolls, in suitcases, in garlands;

If you want more James Bond and not a casino, use gambling paraphernalia to a minimum.

  • black, white, red and silver or gold Balloons will add a festive touch to your party decor. Decide in advance on gold and silver - it is better not to mix these “metals”, either or;

  • luxury and expensive shine of gold/silver - rain or foil curtains (on the walls and in the aisles), serpentine, inscriptions, decorative branches in “bouquets” in transparent vases, frames, dishes;
  • numbers 007 should be everywhere - on napkins, in the corners of pictures, on the wall for photos, on treats, etc.. Just remember that for this party elegance and style come first - do not overload the interior with details;
  • toy weapons, butterflies, hats, dark glasses and various spy things in the style of James Bond as part of garlands, in the design of compositions, “accidentally” left on the table next to Fleming’s books, a collection of films on CD, a box of expensive cigars;

  • The retro design of the 50s harmonizes with MI6: antique telephone and other equipment, cigarette holders, boas, feathers in vases and any little things reminiscent of the classics of a bygone era.

Photozone

At a party in the style of Agent 007, you can’t do without a photo zone - an elite atmosphere, guests will come to chic outfits, a popular topic. The photos will turn out great! Background ideas:

  • Press wall with the inscriptions 007, James Bond, with the name of the hero of the occasion;
  • A tunnel-barrel on a large billboard so that each guest can take a photo like a poster;
  • One of Bond's cars;

  • Any frame from the film as a background or tantamaresque (with holes for faces);
  • Against the background of the poster/poster are life-size figures of various actors in the role of Bond, plus accessories for the photo - pistols, false mustaches, beards and hats, glasses, numbers 007, etc. (on stick holders).

Invitations

A laconic invitation on expensive paper in an envelope with gold or silver embossing is quite in the style of Agent 007, because he moves in the highest circles. You can send a secret message to the “agents” - an urgent call to the MI6 base. Or make a card in the shape of a bullet, a gun, a jacket, or a martini glass.

If the emphasis is on a casino theme, the invitation to the party can be placed in a miniature box, covered like a dice. Or make it in the form of a card, chip, roulette.

Suits

Classic black suits – perfect option for men who are going to a party in the style of Agent 007. A snow-white shirt, highly polished shoes, a corner of a scarf or a flower in a buttonhole, an expensive watch and cufflinks will complete the look. Everything must be perfect, down to the smallest detail, because James Bond is an icon of high style!

The secret agent costume also suits girls very well. Instead of trousers, you can wear a skirt or shorts, and “accidentally” unbutton an extra button on your shirt. Regardless of gender, the image of Bond is unthinkable without a pistol and a bow tie. A hat is appropriate, but only for photos - it will almost certainly be hot at a party.

You don’t have to rack your brains over what to wear for a woman if the image of Bond is not attractive. Of course, unrealistically elegant Evening Dress! Which? It doesn’t matter - short or floor-length, modest or with a deep neckline, modern or retro.

The girls of the most charming secret agent are united by refined taste and a carefully thought-out image - makeup, hairstyle, stylish, non-bulky accessories. But the execution can be very different.

If you spend time searching, you can buy a similar dress by choosing one of the many options shown in more than two dozen films. A list of characters with photos will help you choose an interesting image.

Original costume for a party in the style of James Bond - golden Jill(Goldfinger). Shoes, stockings, dress, wig, makeup - everything should be gold. If you put on an all-black suit (including the shirt) and draw a scar on your eye, you get Le Chiffre. White trousers and stand-up collar shirt + black leather gloves– Dr. No.

Menu, serving

Set the table as in expensive restaurant– floor-length tablecloths, crystal and fine porcelain, textile napkins in rings. Chocolate fountains, ice sculptures, pyramids of glasses, multi-tiered coasters, miniature vases with fresh flowers.
To decorate dishes, make pictures on skewers - weapons, numbers 007, dice, etc. Simple silhouettes easy to paint with black/red acrylic (can be done using stencils) on glasses and other thin glassware.

The design of all menu dishes should also be up to standard. Ideas can be found on the Internet - nothing supernatural, just without “home flavor”. You can cut fruits and vegetables into shapes to decorate dishes, make roses from thin slices or cherry tomatoes, and use candied flowers to decorate desserts.

The priority is light gourmet snacks, delicacies, miniature sandwiches and canapés. Using fondant and colored icing, you can easily decorate cupcakes and cookies thematically, or a stylized cake for a birthday.

Drinks: champagne, wine for ladies, whiskey(Bond's favorite drink), the famous tandem of vodka and martini. Agent 007 also loves Black Velvet, Stinger and Americano - the simplest recipes. It’s great if the party has a bar counter and a bartender who surprises guests with virtuoso tricks and unusual tastes.
Martini glasses - real and large decorative ones - can be used in compositions and for serving desserts.

Vesper cocktail invented by Bond:“Three fingers of Gordon (gin), one of vodka, half a finger of Kina Lillet (vermouth). Beat well and add a thin spiral of lemon zest.”

Entertainment

In addition to the main theme, almost every film has its own soundtrack. And almost all of them are suitable for a party. In addition, any relaxing music of the 50s-70s is suitable for the background and incendiary hits of those years for competitions/dances. Everything is appropriate except for outright pop music.

A game scenario for a James Bond-themed party could go like this:

  • agent training. Give all guests badges with numbers (001, 002, etc. or agent M, agent R - the first letter of the name). Each competition will be a test of one or another quality required by a secret agent;
  • rescue mission(someone was kidnapped). Then it is better to connect the competitions with a common plot using summaries that are read out by the presenter. We go there, meet that person, do that;

  • quest in the name of anything. For each competition, guests receive a fragment of a secret message - simply cut into pieces or encrypted. The message says where the birthday cake, memorable gifts, etc. are.

Think about whether a complex scenario is really needed at your party, because in the James Bond style - relax beautifully. But you are just relaxing! Therefore, you can do without the plot component by entertaining guests with fun competitions.

Gambling

It's a casino! Roulette, any card games, including Mafia and Uno. Many people have poker and other sets, so no special preparation is required.

Thimbles

Attentiveness is perhaps the main quality needed by a secret agent. Three glasses, dice. Wrong? Next. Who can guess which glass the cube is hidden under most times in a row?

Test of Accuracy

Whatever you like - pneumatic guns, water pistols, toy weapons with bullets or suction cups, balls in a hat, or even using a slingshot to hit balls (we neutralize mines).

Race

There are also a lot of options - radio-controlled cars, blowing on paper cars (driving your own or the team's to the finish line), twisting a ribbon onto a stick (at the end is a picture of a car). If you know children have a toy racing track, be sure to borrow it during the party.

Table quiz

In teams or every man for himself. For a break from dancing and active entertainment.

  • how many actors played D.B.?
  • and who was the first?
  • where did the main character's name come from? (Fleming had a book on ornithology, author - James Bond).
  • how many films are there in Bond?

It is advisable to choose questions that are not the most difficult so that all guests can participate. There is a sea of information on the Internet, both on the plots and on the history of creation.

Remember all

Print out 10-20 famous scenes, cover some item/object with a black circle. Guests must guess what is hidden under the “blot”.

Puzzles

Match puzzles do not require any preparation, just look for a couple of options online. You can buy puzzles made of wood or metal. Who can do it faster?

Free the beauty

The girls are tied to chairs with a clothesline, their ankles and wrists are tied with tape (carefully but thoroughly). Which Bond is the best James Bond? And the one who is faster than others will cope with the fetters.

Torture attempts

Two teams are divided into pairs so that each has 1 participant from the first and 1 from the second team. First, team “A” tortures “B”, then vice versa. A smile or laugh is considered a “let slip.” Those. torture is an attempt to make people laugh in any way: making faces, tickling, blowing in the ear - whatever you like.

It is necessary to record the time from the beginning of the competition until the moment when the last of all those “tortured” gives up. And then compare the time - which team did it better?

Commander James Bond

Cards with any phrase encrypted with dots and dashes. Morse code (alphabet) needs to be printed. You can play in two teams or each for himself. Who is the real agent 007 here? After all, by his rank he is supposed to know Morse code no worse than “God Save the Queen”!

Gifts for party guests:

  • a lighter pistol (or an electric one?), a secret bar in a book and other things from a joke store (but not like pillows with a known effect!);
  • expensive alcohol, chocolate;
  • accessories and stationery in the style of James Bond (you can order almost anything online, the theme is very popular);

  • an album decorated with pictures for storing photos from a party (a slight hint of retro);
  • anything you want in a beautiful box or gift bag with a themed image.

A contender for the role of James Bond should look natural in a tuxedo even on the beach - according to legend, it was on this principle that the producers of the franchise selected actors for the main role. James Bond should be a picture of elegance and demonstrate excellent taste in the choice of women, cars, alcohol and, of course, tailor...

Anthony Sinclair

Anthony Sinclair was the permanent tailor of Sean Connery's James Bond. He (and then his assistant) made all the costumes for films from Dr. No to Connery's last Bond film, Diamonds Are Forever. His vision for Bond's wardrobe was strictly defined: fine wool, tweed, gray and blue tones, inconspicuous stripes.

Sinclair's task of creating the image of an ideal gentleman was complicated by the fact that Sean Connery was not accustomed to wearing suits. Therefore, before the filming of Dr. No began, the actor was given “training”, during which he was forced to wear classic clothes even in his sleep. All Bond suits were made to measure, as were the shirts - they were ordered from Turnbull & Asser.

The next Bond, George Lazenby, also starred in a suit made by Anthony Sinclair.

Cyril Castle

Roger Moore was already a household name by the time he took on the role of Bond. Accordingly, he already had his own tailor - Cyril Castle. He developed new wardrobe Bond, noticeably different from Connery's classic ensembles: more modern, as popular in the 1970s brown tones and with a predominance of sports jackets and slacks. At the same time, the new Bond continued to wear the same shirts as Connery, with cufflinks.

Douglas Hayward

After Moonraker, Moore moved to France and was forced to change tailor. It was Douglas Hayward. In his interpretation, Bond's wardrobe became more classic, suits with vests reappeared in it, and even sportswear became more classic.

Bespoke suits from the Italian fashion house (which were also highly valued by former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi) were worn by Pierce Brosnan's James Bond and Daniel Craig in Casino Royale. Brioni was chosen not so much for its classic cut, but for its speed (it was necessary to sew very quickly and several ensembles at the same time) and the aura of big money and influence that these suits created. The supplier of shirts and ties remained the same Turnbull & Asser, which also dressed Sean Connery.

Tom Ford

Tom Ford dresses Daniel Craig's Bond for the second film: agent 007 already appeared in clothes from the American designer in Quantum of Solace. For the new film 007: Skyfall, which opens October 26, Tom Ford created a wardrobe that included traditional evening suits, ties, accessories and even glasses - as impeccably styled as anything Her Majesty's spy wears.

James Bond epitomizes the modern gentleman. Commonly understood by these terms - confidence, strength, politeness and a sense of style - it is clear that Agent 007 possesses all of these qualities.

The character of Bond fulfills a childhood dream for many of us. A patriotic spy who represents the best of the British in his style and manners, he is equally at home with the fastest cars and the most beautiful girls.

James Bond: 50th Anniversary

Bond celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and, judging by the latest film, James Bond has not lost his instinctively progressive, yet classic style:

I can't think of any other film character who has survived fifty years of constant pressure from film critics and remained as popular as long as the films were consistently released and the character's unique character was preserved. The successful work of Sir Ian Fleming, numerous directors/producers, stylists and, of course, actors, is worthy of some major collective award.

If you haven't even warmed to the charming Brit, then you can't ignore his impeccable style and appreciate his sense of self.

The evolution of Bond's style

“If a person is poorly dressed, you remember his clothes. If he is dressed impeccably, you remember the person. "Although this famous quote has been slightly paraphrased, it expresses the essence of James Bond's style in the best possible way. And really dress in such a way that they remember you at your very best. in the best sense this word is real art. And it’s probably much more pleasant to fight the world’s evil when you’re dressed to the nines and confident in yourself.

While Sean Connery was seen only in a tuxedo, Daniel Craig, the latest James Bond to play, took a huge step towards casual elegance.

This finally forced us to reconsider the very concept of a modern gentleman. Daniel Craig, in fact, talentedly reshaped the style of the British spy.

"Bond's style should be classic, expensive, individual, but at the same time simple and specific." Who can disagree with Lindy Hemming, who has dressed Mr. Bond from Goldeneye to Casino Royale. Hemming also believes that the overall mood of James Bond's men's clothing is "vaguely aristocratic", hinting at his patriotism and innate sense of style. Formal menswear has its origins in Savile Row, with many of Bond's earlier shirts from Turnbull and Asser now forming a large part of Prince Charles' daily wardrobe.

Mr. Bond typically avoids bright or form-fitting pieces and uses muted colors, even in casual menswear, opting for timeless looks that ensure he remains relevant in any era.

James Bond Lookbook

Look No. 1: men's evening wear

The man who defined the character of Bond, Sir Sean Connery, is not often seen without a suit. During the day, Bond wore only a suit during most of the 1960s.

Where we really feel the James Bond style is in the evening. It’s not for nothing that Agent 007 has become synonymous with the word tuxedo. Since “Dr. No" of 1962, some men accepted and appreciated this purely formal men's clothing- a fusion of elegance and lightness. At the same time, we often meet Bond in a dark blue tuxedo, which is not surprising. This is a color that reflects the twinkle of evening lights and looks much more luxurious compared to standard black men's clothing.

Accessories make a huge difference as they can take your bow up a notch. Silk tie, shoes self made and the choice of scarf (or maybe you decide to go without) complete the Bond look.

Look #2:SmartCasual

It should be noted that we see Daniel Craig in more sporty style, as a rule, this happens during the persecution of world evil. This is where the slim fit comes in, which, however, Craig can easily afford in his excellent physical shape. It was this actor, thanks to his athletic physique, who was really able to bring aesthetics and style to men's clothing with a more sporty style.

In the last two films, Bond was finally seen in jeans and a polo shirt, which were successfully combined with a variety of jackets and jackets. There is no better example than the scene from Quantum Of Solace, when James Bond sits on a motorcycle in thin white jeans, brown John Lobb desert shoes and a black jacket. Despite the fact that this is definitely a Casual style, the aesthetics of the 60s are still carefully preserved by the modern gentleman thanks to clean lines, a simple cut and yet the elegance inherent in 007.

I'd like to think that Bond spends his free time reading by the fire and caring for dogs. Such a style-conscious person would probably wear a sports-cut tweed jacket and muted corduroy trousers to protect him from the inclement weather in the north of England. Never wear a polo shirt with this combination; rather, take a simple Oxford shirt, which will guarantee you style and at the same time allow you to meet friends in this look.

Accessories still play a role in Bond's everyday attire, such as his trusty Omega watch, which certainly adds a certain glamor to the look.

The invincible MI6 secret agent James Bond is back! And although the new film in the series " Range"received mixed reviews from audiences and critics, the costumes of Bond and his partners (and villains, of course!) are still impeccable. In today's article we will look at the style of 007 in 2015, down to the smallest details.

Bond has moved away from suits in the last three films. Brioni(Pierce Brosnan also wore them) to designs from Tom Ford. And although in Specter he spends a significant part of the film wearing an informal thick turtleneck (like Steve McQueen in Bullitt) or a polo with a suede jacket, all the costumes here are extremely successful. Let's look at the most interesting ones!

Dark blueny suit. BondovskayaclaSika

Firstly, it has an unnoticeable texture " sharkskin"(sharkskin).

This is the basis of the classic spy style, allowing you not to stand out from the crowd, but always look appropriate. In this film on Daniel Craig a fitted and cropped jacket with a classic straight shoulder line and a pronounced sleeve roll, the same as in Skyfall.

Modernize the look with slanted front pockets and a Neapolitan-style barchetta breast pocket, characterized by a rounded entry line. This is a very eclectic suit, far from the traditional English cut (in the earliest James Bond films, of course, they were trimmed on Savile Row), but embodying the era of globalization and mixing of styles.

A separate detail that will probably return to widespread fashion after the film is the collar pin, which raises the tie knot. It becomes a bright accent in the otherwise restrained image of the special agent, and also draws attention to his face. Of course, it’s not very conspiratorial, but we know what kind of egocentric Bond really is... Tom Ford himself is very fond of this accessory (you can find a lot of it photo from social events where such a pin appeared), so this choice is more than logical.

White tuxedo. A nod to the past

There is also a suit here, which is certainly conservative. This is an ivory tuxedo with wide peak lapels, harking back to the spy looks of the 60s and 80s.

By the way, this is Bond's first light tuxedo in the last 30 years (then it appeared on Roger Moore in A View to a Kill). Here the image is complemented by a black butterfly and a red flower in the buttonhole, literally repeating the look of Sean Connery in Goldfinger. In the scenes with this tuxedo, even with the naked eye you can discern the workmanship: the lapels are impressively dynamic and “alive”, so sometimes you even get the feeling that the tailors slightly under-ironed the jacket before handing it over to the set.

What’s interesting is that Bond here doesn’t “go out in public” in a tuxedo, but meets alone with a girl in the train’s dining car (let’s not ask how he fits several suits into one small suitcase). It turns out that 007 values style primarily for himself, and not only strives to fit into the dress code.

Beige suit to match the desert

The most original of the costumes in this film is a beige jacket, a brown and burgundy tie, White shirt and the chinos that Bond changes into before visiting the villain Blofeld's base in the desert.

This is a great example of how rigor is maintained even in an informal look: the trousers and jacket are made from slightly different fabrics different colors and textures. The jacket is made from a mixture of wool, linen and silk, and the trousers are made from pure cotton. By the way, they were not made by Tom Ford, but by a well-known Italian factory Brunello Cucinelli.

Another point that everyone who follows trends should pay attention to: the collars of all Bond shirts in this film have very sharp point collar angles, rather than the more common ones. modern fashion spread or cutaway (when the edges diverge, leaving room for large tie knot). The same “unpopular” decisions include one vent on Bond’s jacket. All this can become a new fashion in 2016!

Clothes of minor characters

By the way, the costumes of the secondary characters here are not inferior to the wardrobe of the main character. For example, on Blofeld performed Christoph Waltz you can see a minimalistic dark gray jacket with one (top) button.

This is a kind of rethinking of Blofeld’s appearance from the “golden age” of Bond. There he wore a more militaristic jacket, buttoned up with all buttons, in khaki. But times change - and functionality gives way to design!

Here's Bond's boss M (Ralph Fiennes)- as if the last bastion of conservatism in this film. He wears a double-breasted dark blue suit with prominent light stripes with a classic fit, straight shoulder and peak lapels.

M cannot be called old-fashioned - there is certainly style in his image. But this is the style of a person who prefers not to be conspicuous and not to go beyond the usual boundaries.

Over the 50 years that the male James Bond movie saga has existed, we already know how to chase terrorists while running along the structures of a high-rise crane, how to detonate a bomb and how to play in a casino without compromising national security.

But there are also more practical skills that the great agent 007 teaches us. For example, how to wear a brand new suit, how to shave to look like a real dandy, or how to look your interlocutor directly in the eyes with dignity. However, everything is in order.

1. Aviators always work!

Source: Askmen.com

James Bond seems to be dressed exceptionally stylishly and appropriately for the occasion in any situation. Of course, he has all the power and finances of the British Empire behind him. Surely, you are much more modest with this. But don’t be sad - the matter can be fixed. Stock up on aviator sunglasses and you'll look just like Bond. And always and everywhere!

2. Always look straight into the eyes

Source: Askmen.com

Ever wonder how Her Majesty's most famous spy gets his way? The secret is in the eyes! Look your opponent straight in the face, and he will be sure that you control all his overt actions and hidden thoughts.

3. Always know the shortcomings of your hairstyle

Source: Askmen.com

The current James Bond, Daniel Craig, unlike his Bond predecessors, does not have a luxurious hairstyle on his head. And what? And he turned this disadvantage into an advantage. Stylists shortened his hair on the sides, leaving more length on the top of his head. And by the way, it turned out to be a cool, restrained and ascetic image!

4. No tie

Source: Askmen.com

In fact, Bond always looked smart, especially if he was wearing a tie. But even without this accessory, agent 007 knows how to be impressive. In any case, the lack of a tie does not really bother Bond-Craig. He found a great way out of this little problem. The collar of his shirt is always fastened with side buttons and clearly rises above the lapels of his jacket.

5. Clean terrain (especially on the back)

Source: Askmen.com

You can be sure that Bond, in earlier films, today, every day, makes sure that his body is free of hair. Take care of regular haircut and shaving, and success will definitely visit you.

6. A winter coat should be like a glove.

Source: Askmen.com

On many modern men, jackets look like garbage bags. But not Bond. His outerwear, like his tuxedos, is always carefully tailored to fit and inspires every respect for its owner. High armholes, accentuated torso and shoulders, natural body lines and ideal length - these are the components of agent 007's style.

7. A real superman wears swim trunks.

Source: Askmen.com

Wide pants in the shape of a Brazilian hammock are not for a spy of all times. You won't escape a deadly chase wearing these. James Bond's choice - moderately tight swimming trunks middle length. Even if you don't have a Bond figure, you'll be quite comfortable in them and you'll feel confident in them.

8. Tie Knot - Collar Style
