However, I would also like to note such improvised material for creativity as felt. Surely, you are already familiar with him firsthand. You have more than once had to make crafts for school or kindergarten together with your children. Let's see what is so unusual that can be created from this dense felt material.

To create you will need:

felt of different colors (at your discretion);
decorative red berries;
scissors;
buttons;
threads;
paper;
pencil;
synthetic winterizer;
thin twine;
miniature decorative clothespins.

Manufacturing process:

To begin with, we have to create with our own hands various figures, consisting of each of two elements, on paper, cut them out, and then transfer them to fabric and do the same.
We sew the finished felt parts together, leaving a little space for the filler - synthetic winterizer. Subsequently, these places are also closed with a needle and thread.
We do the same with all figures. In the end, we will need to sew a loop of thin twine or satin ribbon to the edge of the base of all products for attaching to the future garland. And sheathe the surface of the crafts themselves with buttons, bows, beads or something else at your discretion.
After we have done creative work, we take a thin twine, its length should also correspond to your internal requests, and we make it out, gradually attaching our creations from felt with the help of decorative mini clothespins. Everything should go as in the photo above.

Merry garland of light bulbs

A garland of ordinary glass light bulbs will look quite original and impressive for the New Year 2019. Of course, they should be transformed with your own hands using various additional materials at hand, but believe me, this work is worth it. And the price will pleasantly surprise you, dear friends! Collect all your old light bulbs and get creative.

For work you will need:

old burned out light bulbs;
alcohol for degreasing the surface of the light bulb;
cotton pad;
artistic acrylic primer;
foam sponge;
white acrylic paint;
hot glue;
satin ribbons;
decor elements: sequins, mirror mosaic, gold stars or something else of your choice.

Manufacturing process:

Having chosen a pear-shaped or other shape of a light bulb in your home to create a garland, the surface of each must first be treated with ordinary alcohol using a cotton pad.
Then take an artistic acrylic primer and, using a small foam rubber sponge, apply this mixture to the glass of the light bulb. When finished, leave to dry for 30 minutes if the layer is not thick. By the way, the base in the light bulb does not need to be coated with a primer, only the glass surface.
After the allotted time, we will use white acrylic paint. We apply it with a brush or foam sponge evenly and around the entire perimeter of the primed product. If in some places the paint lay unevenly, it is recommended to repeat the steps with staining.
When our processed product dries, we proceed to it New Year's decoration. To do this, you can use whatever your heart desires. For us, it will be a decor in the form of multi-colored sequins, gold stars, and a small decorative mosaic that looks like broken glass. Looking at the photo above, we repeat the creation of patterns. Hot glue is required to attach small jewelry. It will quickly and reliably fix the elements of transformation you have chosen.
Having completed this "design" work to translate your ideas with your own hands, you will need to decorate the metal base of the lamp. We take a satin ribbon and, gently lubricating it with hot glue, wrap it tightly on the selected surface. At the same time, do not forget to make a loop at the base of the plinth for easy hanging on our future garland.
Having embellished each light bulb and turning it from an ordinary household item into a real masterpiece of art, you need to place them on some kind of string. For this purpose, thin twine will do just fine, the same satin ribbon, well, or something like that.
To keep your creations from fidgeting on the rope, you need to secure them by tying a small knot in each of them. If this option confuses you with something, then get miniature decorative clothespins. They fit perfectly into bright style your holiday.

Gorgeous garland of threads - "Balls"

And this is not surprising, because such bright and unusual-looking creations are not seen every day in your home. They are so light and airy that even at the slightest breath of the breeze they will sway, captivating all riveted eyes. So, let's create a similar miracle with our own hands - a product from ordinary floss threads or yarn of the color you like.

For work you will need:

multi-colored threads;
inflated air balloons round shape;
PVA glue;
colorless varnish;
cream;
needle;
wide capacity for adhesive solution;
decorative elements: sequins, sparkles, snowflakes, satin ribbon bows, etc.;
old mechanical garland with light bulbs.

Work process:

We prepare balloons with a diameter of 5 - 7 cm.
After that, each ball is individually lubricated with a small amount of cream so that its surface becomes slippery and prevents the wound thread from sticking in the future.
We need to pour the glue from the tube into a shallow wide container.
We take a skein of threads of your choice and, passing them through the adhesive base, immediately wind them onto the surface hot air balloon. The density of the yarn on our product should be similar to the one shown in the photo we presented earlier.
When it seemed to you that there were enough threads on the balloon, we cut the thread with a small margin so that you can hang the creation to dry. By the way, if you decide to somehow decorate your work, the time is just right for this. On the sticky surface of the yarn, both rhinestones, sequins, and small ready-made snowflakes, previously purchased in the store, will perfectly fall.
The hardened surfaces of the thread balls indicate that it is time to remove the air base from each decorative item. To do this, we take a needle and simply - simply pierce our elastic material with it.
Now it's time to place our colorful blanks on the bulbs of mechanical garlands. In the place where the tail of the balloon was earlier, we push the festive light. And we do this with every product. Here you have a miracle decoration for the New Year 2019, created by yourself quickly, simply and easily. paper chain

A paper chain is the simplest and most common New Year's garland. This decoration will be a wonderful decoration in new year holidays. Its manufacture is within the power of even a small child.

For its manufacture you will need:

colored paper;
Glue;
Scissors.

Progress:

Cut colored paper into strips of the same length and width.
Make a ring out of the strip, fasten it with glue.
Pass another strip of paper of a different color through the ring. Create a ring.
Thus, connect the rings, while alternating various colors. It turns out a beautiful paper chain.

Ribbon

Such a garland is mounted on the ceiling and simply hangs down. It looks very interesting in the form of decorating a room for the New Year.

Option 1. You need to prepare:

colored paper;
Scissors;
Glue.

Progress:

Cut colored paper into strips 5-7 cm wide. All must be the same.
Make equal cuts on the strips after 1 cm, alternating from different sides.
Glue the edges of the resulting strips to each other, to the required length.
Hang a handmade garland from the ceiling.

Option 2. To work on the garland you will need:

colored paper;
Scissors.

Cut out a circle from paper and gradually cut it in a spiral to the middle. The thickness of the spiral can be made approximately 1-1.5 cm. A garland is hung on the ceiling. You can glue a paper snowman or Christmas tree on the free end of the garland.

Christmas garland of three-dimensional snowflakes

Such a beautiful garland will become luxurious christmas decoration. It will look perfect at home or at work, and will also become great decoration school office.

To create a garland volumetric snowflakes you need to take:

A4 paper (color or white);
Scissors;
stapler.

Progress:

Cut out an equilateral square from paper. Fold it into an isosceles triangle.
Make incisions from the middle 1.5-2 cm long. leaving about 1 cm from the opposite edge.
Expand square. Fasten the corners of the small square resulting from the cuts with a stapler.
Flip over and do the same with the next square in size. Thus, fasten all the corners, alternating sides.
Fasten the resulting petals together in the middle and on the edge to make a snowflake.
With a stapler, connect the snowflakes at two points with each other, you get a garland of three-dimensional snowflakes.

Paper ball garland

Small and neat colored balls, collected on a thread, are a good New Year's decoration. There are several options for creating such garlands. Below are the two most common.

Option 1. To create you will need:

Scissors;
colored paper;
Threads;
Glue.

The most difficult thing in the manufacture of such a garland is the creation of the balls themselves. In order not to spoil the sheets of colored paper, you can practice on a regular newspaper.

Cut out two blanks from colored paper. They consist of 2 tongues.
Start weaving with 4 tongues, creating a ball shape.
When the ball is completed, the tongues are attached with glue. Trim excess.
After a sufficient number of balls are ready, string them on a thread.
It turned out a multi-colored and original garland that will decorate a room or a Christmas tree.

Option 2. You need to prepare:

Colored paper (preferably bright)
Scissors;
Glass;
Pencil;
Threads;
Sewing machine.

Progress:

On colored paper, circling the glass, draw circles (future elements of the garland);
Cut out carefully.
You can take 6 circles or more per ball. Fold in the color combination you like best.
On a sewing machine, sew a pile in the middle of the circle. At the end of the circle, without interrupting the line, continue stitching the elements.
When finished, fold each circle in half. You get a lot of voluminous balls firmly connected with a thread.

A beautiful garland is ready. She can safely decorate a class, apartment or group in kindergarten.

In this article, you will learn how to make several different types paper garlands by yourself. Garland making can be quite fun and easy. Perhaps the simplest tool in a craftsman's arsenal, paper is full of possibilities and purposes. You can turn it into anything. I use it for Christmas home decor, this year the round ones with stitched stitches are the priority. You can use them as decorations for a party, event, or simply. About everything in more detail later in the article.

Making a garland

First of all, prepare many, many paper circles for work. I cut my circles with the help of a scrapbooking punch (in our opinion, a hole punch). But you can find more fancy gadgets for these purposes, of which there are many on the Internet. I chose several shades of pink to create a romantic appearance. I also added a few gold medallions which contrast nicely and make the decoration not boring.

First, I laid all my circles in turn in a row in the order in which I saw them, and my goal was to get an ombre effect. Then she started sewing.

Sew along the center of your first circle, then take the next circle, placing it in front of the presser foot and sew right after the first. Continue moving until you have a chain of circles of the desired length. I used fine stitch on a sewing machine.

Make as many strings for the round garland as you need. For my design, it took about 15 sheets of double-sided thick colored paper measuring 20x30 cm. I installed the finished product on a regular double-sided adhesive tape, adding a couple of threads of decorative light bulbs for a festive mood that were held on a nail, and placed the battery packs right there - at the top of the windowsill, also with double sided tape.

Consumables

As soon as you hang all this, you will only have to enjoy, since paper itself is originally festive. Place it close to others holiday decorations, such as Christmas, and you get a festive color.

You will also need a garland for occasional parties. If you have children, they will appreciate this approach and will be grateful to you.

Light elements add a special atmosphere that is inherent in winter holidays. I really love everything shiny, luminous and shimmering, especially during the holidays.

Someone will find the round option boring, or you may not have all the tools at hand. Therefore, I have prepared for you a few more ways to decorate with paper garland. So let's get started.

Method 1

Geometric

Fold each sheet into a triangle. Start by folding the sheet in half. Then fold the triangle in half to make an even smaller triangle.

Consider making small slits around the edges to make your garland more interesting. Do not make any cuts along the folded edges.

Staple the two triangles together in the middle with a stapler. Do the same for the rest of the triangles so that you have six bonded triangular shapes.

Pin the two triangular shapes together at the corners. Take two triangles and overlap dots 1/2 inch (1.27 cm). Sew the corners down.

Pin the forms together to keep them in place. If you don't want the staples to show, you can only stitch the inner layers and leave the top layers free.

To make a garland of separate triangles, connect the parts to each other by the edges.

When you're done, fasten the garland to the wall using the buttons.

Method 2

And again a round garland (they are so funny). This time it's a way that doesn't involve sewing machine. A scrapbooking hole punch works the same as regular hole punches, except that the former comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. It can cut circles, hearts, squares, stars and even snowflakes. You can buy a scrapbooking hole punch at any stationery or art supply store. You can also find it online.

If you do not have a figured hole punch, you can use a regular compass. It's a little longer in time, but your perseverance, I'm sure, will overcome the routine.

Walkthrough

Take colored paper. The best option there will be a choice of special for scrapbooking or cardboard. Craft paper or origami paper will also work, but in this case, the finished garland will not be durable.
Try using two to three different colors or shades. For example, try light blue, blue, and navy blue.

Make circles of different colors using the available method.
If you are making a nursery garland, use patterned and bright colors. For example, half of your shapes might be bright blue, while the other half of your shapes might be white with bright green polka dots or stripes.

You can use one punch and get shapes of the same size this way.

Or go my way - I made two versions of the round shape in different sizes. One is 5 cm and the other is 8.8 cm in diameter. This trick gave my garland some variety.

If you can't find punch, draw circles with a compass!

Cut out your shapes. If your paper is thin enough, you can cut two or three sheets at a time. Cardboard, however, must be punched or cut one sheet at a time. If you try to pierce too much at once, you will end up with fuzzy edges on the shapes and could damage the blade.
Align the shapes in a straight line. If different sizes are used, try alternating them. You can alternate them randomly or in a specific pattern.

Draw a line of glue down the middle. Make sure it goes continuously through all the forms.
Apply the ribbon over the glue. Make sure that the braid has a tail 30-50 cm long at the end. This way you can hang your garland.

Lay similar circles with glue on top of the figure with braid, making a “sandwich” out of each shape with twine in the middle. Now our garland becomes like the truth, acquiring the features of a two-sided design.
Repeat the process with the rest of the shapes. They can be both at a distance from each other, and close to each other. Make sure you have about 30-50 cm of loose rope left at the end of the garland, otherwise you won't be able to hang it up later.

Let the glue dry before hanging the garland. Depending on how much glue you used, this can take anywhere from two hours to a day.

Method 3

How to make a garland-flags

Step 1

Prepare 20/30 cm scrapbooking paper. You can use any color or pattern you want. To make the flags more interesting, consider using multiple colors, shades, or patterns. For example:

If the garland is for a kid's room, use pink/blue and white paper with pink/blue polka dots.
If the garland is for an ocean-themed party, consider using light blue and blue color schemes.

Step 2

Fold in half lengthwise. If the paper has a pattern or is one-sided, make sure the pattern is outside fold. The empty/white part should be inside.

Step 3

Cut in half along the fold line. You should get two copies from a folded sheet of the same size as it.

Step 4

Cut out a triangle from each sheet. To do this, fold the rectangle with the colored side up two times at a right angle. Then cut off the corner to make a rhombus on the spread. In this case, the middle of the triangle should fall at the angle of two folds:

Step 5

Measure out the string that will hang the flags, in addition to space for the garland, it should have a margin of at least 30 cm at each end for strings to hang easily ready product where required.

Step 6

Open one triangle and cover it with glue around the edges and in the center. You can also add glue in the middle of the triangle.

Step 7

Place the rope along the crease and close the triangle. Iron the flag with the edge of the palm of your hand to flatten it and seal it.

Step 8

Repeat the gluing process for the rest of the triangles. You can arrange them as close to each other or as far apart as possible. However, be sure to leave at least a few inches of space between the triangles so that the garland looks nice when suspended.

Step 9

Consider leaving a message on your banner by placing a letter on each triangle. You can cut out the letters from the colorful and glue them on one side of each flag. You can also paint the letters using a stencil or acrylics.
